The best restaurants in Oundle East Northamptonshire East Midlands

We’ve been twice and the food is wonderful. They have to set up everything for kitchen and tables from scratch each week, as it’s an experiment to test demand, using a local cafe premises, which I find amazing. We had starters of scallops with pork belly and crackling, rabbit terrine, then duck and venison. Stunning. Good wine too. Definitely recommend if you love well cooked, beautifully presented food. Not expensive either.

Fabulous place. Nicely decorated and the food was just amazing. On top of all that, the staff were friendly and helpful. Can't say enough good things about this place. Wished we lived nearer Tewkesbury!

Beautiful little pub and lovely big garden, super friendly staff and lots of veggie/ vegan/ gluten free options!

Me and my friend Annette stopped at The Shuckburgh Arms last Saturday until Sunday morning. We had such a lovely time we didn't want to leave. The hospitality of Georgia and Paul was absolutely fantastic they were so warming to us and made you feel very welcome. The evening meal and breakfast was really nice I would definitely come back again. The room was cosy and the bed was very comfy. Thank you Georgia and Paul.

Lovely courtyard gets the sun nicely! Haven’t tried the food yet it’s on my list of to do’s. 😉

A very warm and friendly welcome from Kim. Great choice of homemade dishes, she told us the favourites and explained why they were so popular. Three had the Thai Chicken curry, big chilli hit, but delicious. One had the award winning burger, meaty and with a spicy chilli jam, again delicious. I had the slow cooked steak pie, fantastic and lots of gravy! Generous portions at very reasonable prices. Brilliant atmosphere, karaoke started around 9:30,popular with regulars. Cash preferred to pay for food, pay separately for drinks at the bar. Very good selection of soft drinks, for drivers! Spotlessly clean. Parking a little tricky, arrive a bit early. Definitely a place to visit again.

Very nice restaurant with delicious food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had bariatric surgery last year so I cannot eat large amounts of food and on Good Friday they had a set meal option of two or three courses. However, when I asked and explained I could only eat a small portion, they were very kind and said I could order something different, even a children's meal if I needed. The food is delicious and a good portion size.

Sadly, the Kings Head has now closed, and is unlikely to re-open...another victom of rising energy costs.

A very good coffee shop with excellent service and high-quality food. I especially appreciated the fresh salad that accompanied all our meals. However, I can’t give a full five stars due to two minor issues that could be improved. Firstly, we purchased crisps with our meals, but it was not made clear beforehand that crisps were already included with what we ordered. This could have been communicated more effectively. Secondly, the toasties my mother and I ordered were placed directly on top of our napkins, causing cheese to get all over them. While the staff were quick to provide replacements, this was an avoidable oversight, as it should have been obvious that the cheese would transfer onto the napkins. Despite these small issues, we had a great experience, and I would still recommend this coffee shop.

5 stars! The Butter Chicken Curry is the best I have ever had. The locals were very friendly.

Visited on a busy Sunday and had an excellent bowl of Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash soup, as well as an excellent latte. There is always a good atmosphere and it is a relaxing place to visit.

Lovely food! Very tasty range of curries and byriani. Came for our Granddads Bday and had a great meal with a surprise dessert treat at the end! Great friendly service throughout.

An excellent fish and chip shop. This is by far the best fish and chip shop in the area and I look forward to my next visit.

Fantastic makeover for this traditional village pub. Reopened on Christmas eve, nice selection of Nene Valley Brewery beers as well as the usual lager and spirit selection. They how to start coffee, pastries and full menu soon, but this is a phenomenal start and brings so much life into the village!!
