The Lighthouse Tea Room

Filey, Scarborough
20/06/2018: My family and I visited this delightful tearoom at lunchtime today . We were welcomed and shown to a table that could fit 3 of us at a squeeze but the friendly waitress advised that as soon as a larger table became available, she would move us . The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly . The tea shop was spotless and decorated with lighthouse nicknacks as was the toilet !
20/06/2018: On a trip to Filey, we found this lovely tea room, the staff were very friendly, and service very good, we had sandwiches and a ploughman lunch ,with tea with coffee. Would recommend this place, if you are in Filey

The Fig Tree

Hurstpierpoint and Downs, Mid Sussex
18/06/2018: It's not the cheapest place to eat, it's a place for a special occasion as far as we're concerned, but the food is of the high quality, The portions are small, but very nicely presented. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally.
17/06/2018: Highly recommended. Worth the drive from Brighton. Food is at a very standard, service to match. The roast beef was one of the nicest roasts I have had out. All the trimmings and perfectly cooked. Well priced and desetves all the great reviews.

Los Moros

Micklegate, York
18/06/2018: Had the chicken wrap, fantastic flavours, cram packed with salad and more mortician spices- can’t wait to go back!
14/06/2018: I had a falafel wrap. It was very substantial and the sheer range of delicious flavours that came through was amazing. Absolutely outstanding street food.

Rest A While Tea Garden

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
20/06/2018: 05/06 - We had just embarked on the next stage of our SWCP adventures and having just set off from Padstow, it was great to find this wonderful little tea garden.
20/06/2018: Having walked 3 1/4 miles from Trevone Bay, this was a welcome place to rest and re-fuel before our walk back. Beautifully fresh sandwiches, and lemon drizzle cake to die for! They even give doggie biscuits to canine visitors! Lovely, friendly staff, and you can use their loo for a small donation to their Defibrillator fund - they were delighted that we knew this little detail, and I was delighted that I could use their loo before heading back! Highly recommended.

South Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, <20£
21/06/2018: Such a lovely place, baby mozarella starter was amazing and the Nonna Maria malloreddus was like being back in Sardinia! The staff are attentive and happy and the food and wine are sooo good
20/06/2018: Went on the spur of the moment after the restaurant we were meant to go to had closed its doors. Really impressed. Very similar to Panis in Newcastle city centre (the staff here used to work there.). Slightly worried about the 'Sicilian/Scottish' menu (!!) but all the food was great. Small and intimate, very much a local bistro (don't go expecting 'fine dining') but do expect a lovely time.

The Singing Kettle

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough
19/06/2018: We came here 2 yrs ago and wasn’t disappointed revisited today and the quality service and good value still hold we are the king and queen of breakfasts having tried quite a few and this is up there as one of the best! Will defo be calling in again and recommending it to anyone who will listen
18/06/2018: Down a wee small alley there is a hidden gem - a good old original cafe. No frills, but clean, with everything you could wish for when looking for a good feed. The tea comes in large mugs, and the breakfast is freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful. 2 out of us 4 who attended are vegetarian, which wasn't a problem. Toast was fresh, bacon was good, and the sausages tasty. Bypass the others and pay the Singing Kettle a visit - you really won't be disappointed

The Hythe Brasserie

Hythe Central, Shepway
20/06/2018: Amazing Restaurant Sevice and food brilliant Need to book . Only open Wed. To Sat I am Gluten Free no problem for them . Hythe is a beautiful place and many Restaurants but this one was certainly the very best we visited .
19/06/2018: Fantastic food, made to order and was tailored to our needs. The service was excellent and the over all ambiance was of a family feel, home away from home.

Steam Bistro

Coniston and Crake Valley, South Lakeland
20/06/2018: This is only relatively small but don't let that fool you. The food is excellent and served with a friendly efficiency that epitomise the place. Take your own alcohol and settle back for a treat.
19/06/2018: Excellent food. Service friendly if a little slow especially as members of our group of four did not have a starter.

The Cornish Deli

St Ives North, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
18/06/2018: We visit St Ives every June / July and always pop in here for either lunch or afternoon tea. It never disappoints ... we had a lovely gluten free cream tea here this time, on the last afternoon of our holiday. Well worth a visit.
17/06/2018: I can only comment on what I ate in the deli, that being a cream tea. We visited in the late afternoon, so I assume the scones must have dried during the day, as they were quite biscuit-like in texture. The clotted cream, jam and tea were of a decent standard.

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
19/06/2018: My wife and I and my brother and his wife came here for a meal and stay. The meal was classy and delicious from start to finish. The room was brilliant with views over the castle a great sight to wake up to in the morning. We had the suite and my brother had the family apartment. The tea and coffee are plentiful in the room. Such a relaxing night was had. The breakfast had all the options and was also delicious a great start to the day.
16/06/2018: So my husband and I visited this restaurant last night. We were just passing, we hadn't booked. But they willingly accommodated us. What can I was fab! We were greeted by the most welcoming, bubbly waiter. Who showed us to our seats and talked us through the menu in full. The menu was refreshingly varied, with an interesting selection. As well as being clear and upfront of the prices. A set menu of two courses £27.50 or £32.50 for three. There were supplements on top of some of the dishes such as Lobster or Surf n Turf etc. But these were very reasonable, and worth every penny! The lobster was the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the Venison, and again he said cooked to perfection. There was plenty on the menu that I hope to sample in the future. The service was the best, very personable, polite and fun. And the atmosphere pitched just right. Formal, but not stuffy dining. Lovely environment. Compliments to the chef and all of the staff. Yum...yum!

Keats Cottage

Shanklin South, Isle of Wight
17/06/2018: Great hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room and the food was excellent too. Thanks.
09/06/2018: This was our first time here, was recommended by friends.Good food, brilliant personal service, great atmosphere.

Supattra Thai Restaurant

Bridlington South, East Riding of Yorkshire, 20-30£
19/06/2018: There food is no better than any other oriental restaurant. The man who serves the tables is so disingenuous he makes my skin crawl. Family from abroad saw it had high ratings on here but I told them that the food and service and ambiance...
09/06/2018: The fact that our sleepy seaside town hosts such an amazing Thai restaurant is nothing short of amazing. This isn’t just the best Thai in Yorkshire, it’s possibly the best Thai outside of Thailand. Get yourself here!

Duke's, Sefton, 20-30£
17/06/2018: We had heard great reviews about Volare, however we found it to be very average. It is just your typical restaurant, however the staff were lovely and very attentive. We were in there less than an hour.
10/06/2018: I visit Southport with friends 2/3 times each year. Still rate Volare for best Italian food (though they cater for all tastes). In town for 3 days, dined at Volare 3 times; great menu choices - my new favourite is a starter, Avocado and Crab bake; but all is good. The good atmosphere remains intact and the staff are both quick and helpful, One has a really good singing voice too! Their nearby Deli worth a try too.

Aux Delices

Luddendenfoot, Calderdale, 20-30£
16/06/2018: We have had such a cracking meal and evening out at Aux Delices just now - thank you! Beautiful food - really beautiful and very delicious- service - ambience - talented and helpful young ladies waiting on the tables and a very informative young man at the bar. A wonderful restaurant/bistro to have in Mytholmroyd. Our food was spectacular, the ingredients, the presentation - the job lot! We think you would go a long way to find such a well executed menu - brilliant! We are full and happy and looking forward to a return visit. Nothing to fault! Thank you very much and well done for running such an amazing place! x
15/06/2018: What a great bistro. Warm friendly staff, great menu choice. Ate the Belly Pork which was cooked perfectly with crispy crackling. Wine was delicious. Price was fair for quality of food and overall experience. Highly recommended.
