Great service by Fede, friendly and informative, Food well presented, Smoked arrancini nice, Sea bream looked very appealing, bruschetta Nduja, flavourful without being overwhelming, Puttanesca with octopus, tasty and rich, though a little light on olives, those who had desserts enjoyed, limoncello cheesecake very refreshing

We found this true gem on Trip Advisor as were bringing our motorbike to Tadcaster to be serviced and needed breakfast after leaving Cumbria very early. We were immediately welcomed on arrival and chose to sit outside as it was sunny and warm. The staff were happy for me to change out of my motorbike gear using their excellent toilet facilities and ready to take our order as soon as I returned to our table. The cappuccinos which arrived promptly afterwards were creamy and delicious works of art. My husband and I both ordered a “Breakfast Stack” from the extensive menu: hash browns, bacon, sausage and a poached egg all draped (but not drowned) in delicious hollandaise sauce. Another cappuccino apiece saw us very satisfied if not a little frustrated that we hadn’t room for any delicious cake! We cannot rate this delightful independent coffee shop highly enough. Fabulous food and just lovely staff - we will definitely return when the bike needs its next service - if not before!

We have just moved into the village and popped in for a drink quite late on the 23rd Jan. There were a few people outside in the smoking area who all said hello when we arrived, and it was the same when we went inside. Lovely friendly feel to the place and welcoming people. We are looking forward to popping in again.

Never fails to deliver brilliant home cooked food. Visit often but the steak and kidney pie last week was truly outstanding. As a southerner in Yorkshire so few places actually do kidney with most being ale or just steak. It was jam packed with both steak and kidney, all delicious. Soups are something else too. Sandwiches are always fantastic, fresh and full of excellent fillings. A big shout out not only to Lisa but especially the lovely Ellie out front

Met a friend for coffee here. Wasn't expecting much during these times of covid, but it was a delight. Sat outside under an umbrella big enough to keep off a shower. Excellent coffee served by a very friendly young student waitress. Delightful people and a lovely little dog. Will be back.

On my birthday, we always go to Akbars in York as it's my favourite Indian restaurant outside of Bradford. I was disappointed to find it is closed and I really couldn't decide where else I wanted to go. Living in Sherburn In Elmet I've been to most of the Indian restaurants in this area, and while they are all OK, I have never been blown away by any of them. I stumbled upon Jahan Lounge just through doing a Google search on local Indian restaurants and thought I'd chance it, and thank God I did. The restaurant is tucked away in Scarthingwell Golf Club. There is ample parking too, which is handy. you need to go upstairs in the club building to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is tastefully presented with a nice ambience, and there is a good selection of drinks for all at the bar. The food is literally to die for. It is up there with the best curries I have ever had. I had lamb chops for starters, which were perfectly cooked and so tasty. For my main, I had a keema karahi, which wasn't on the menu, but when I asked, the waiter said, " No problem, sir, we can make that for you" The curry is what blew me away. It is probably in the top three meals I've ever had in my life. The chef here is at the top of their game. If you like a good curry, this is the place to go. I am so glad I have found Jahan lounge because I no longer need to drive all the way to Bradford anymore, I have found a hidden gem right on our doorstep.

They only do Sunday lunch. They have one high chair, but kids are welcome. No outdoor play area. Lunch was really nice, especially the lamb shank. Would recommend for more adult eating unless you are not staying long with a very young child.
