Burro Restaurant Pizzeria in Selby

Booked for 7pm for 8 people on a Thursday evening and it was fairly quiet but it became quite busy later on. The staff were very attentive and the meal was very good. The ambience was good maybe the only thing missing was background music. A mistake was made on the bill resulting in a query from us and an admittance that the restaurant had made an error and a refund was made. All in all very good.

We had a large variety of starters as seen in pictures all food was top quality and very tasty would definitely recommend and will be returning soon not a massive menu however lots of choices staff are very friendly and feel everything was reasonably priced. Thankyou for a great evening. Amico mio

I have eaten in restaurants around the world including Paris and Venice, yet this little place in a village 20 minutes outside Goole gave me the best meal I've ever had. I went last weekend with my partner and have not stopped thinking about it since. I can't praise this place highly enough, absolutely indescribable, I loved it!

What a find! Excellent food, great atmosphere, good service and at a reasonable price. We went on a rainy Tuesday in February, and the restaurant and car park was packed out. We had to wait a few minutes for a space in the car park, which isn't small. The interior is quirky as the building is an old windmill, so walls are bare brick and curved - just adds to the atmosphere. Tip - Definitely book a table.

Let me tell you - any place that serves full sized burrata on your pizza (or even have burrata on the menu), for me is a good one. Burro, in the middle of countryside has exceeded all my expectations! I’ve been twice now and it’s WORTH the trip out of York. This is not your half-arsed Italian, it’s an amazing establishment that has number of delicious food options. The set menu is brilliant, although doesn’t cater than many vegetarian options for mains I was able to pick a great pasta and adjust my pizza to make it veggie. Their truffle arancini are my favourite option as a starter, and if you can manage their full size desserts will finish you off. Great quality, sizes and prices. Please pay them a visit!

Bad table looking straight into the kitchen had to ask to be seated, had to ask for drinks. Starter good. Pizza main course terrible, salty, wet , lack of filling. Will not return

Last minute bòoking and we were obviously lucky to get a table as the restaurant was busy busy. First of all service and friendliness of staff is amazing. Unfortunately for me, the food didn't live up to what I was expecting. I have had far better pizzas else where. Not that it mattered to us as being with friends, we had a chance of a good catch-up, but we waited over an hour between starters and mains. One dish was completely wrong but our friend didn't say anything and ate it anyway. I'm not saying u wouldn't go again, but won't be in a hurry.

Delicious food and excellent service. We’ve now visited Burro twice as a family and will no doubt return. I’ve only visited Italy once, but I ate at a lot of restaurants whilst we were there and this place is certainly authentic. Very good value too.

Incredible food!! We’ve lived in the area for almost two years and have had Burro on our list since about a month after we moved - we finally managed to visit last night and wow, I’m genuinely disappointed we waited so long! The food was incredible and really well priced. The restaurant was very busy so really pleased we booked and managed to get a table! We’ve already booked our next visit with some friends - let’s hope the Monkfish & Prawn pasta is still on the menu then as it was probably the best fish dish we have ever eaten. Can’t wait to come back!

Wowsers we are so lucky to have this lovely restaurant in our village. Went last Thursday and, as ever before, warm friendly greeting, delicious food from the winter set menu and great value too. Nothing to say apart from "exceptional". The restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere is relaxing and warm. The food was sensational, every bite was a true delight. We came from York, definitely worth the trip. Staff was welcoming and service impeccable. Will absolutely be back!

Ours was a last minute booking and I think we were lucky to get a reservation. The restaurant was very busy, noisy and obviously very popular. The food was very good - I had a crispy duck salad which was delicious, what made it so good was that it only had a drizzle of sauce rather than been coated so the whole dish was fresh, crispy and light. The tall one had steak tartare - very nicely presented but certainly not your traditional steak tartare - we agreed I’d chosen the best dish. For our mains I had beetroot pasta with almond and courgette pesto with fresh raw tuna - very tasty dish but two things to point out, the pasta was just on the wrong side of al dente - another minute or two cooking would have made it perfect. Also, more tuna would have been gratefully received. The tall one had a 4 salami calzone with charcoal pizza dough. It looked and tasted delicious thou he did mention that the ends were very thick dough wise which were dry so he was pleased there was additional tomato sauce on the side. One thing to mention is the high quality of service - all the waiting staff were excellent and quick to sort out any queries. It certainly adds to the overall evening and it’s so nice to see all staff working together as a team. Would we go back - yes we would as it’s good food, excellent service and the venue has good ambience

Five of us for a later lunch today (20/01) and wow! Superb. Nice bread appetiser, a lovely selection of starters which included “incredible” scallops, and a lovely cheese, meat, and bread board. Mains were fabulous. My calzone (black dough) was simply the best calzone I’ve ever had, and it was similar from round the table from wild boar ravioli to nuggets and chips all receiving top marks. A couple of puds - delicious salted caramel ice-cream - followed, as did a complimentary shot of limoncello (my 7 year old was given a ‘shot’ of apple juice to join in, a lovely, unasked for touch) Service was friendly and prompt throughout, fellow diners all looked to be enjoying their meals, and the building was warm. A bill of just shy of £200 for 4 adults both eating three courses, a table appetiser, kids menu, a few beers and ciders, coffee etc. was fab value considering the quality. Superb!

We were looking for somewhere to have a lovely lunch close to York when we were travelling up and down in a day. We saw this on searching and were impressed with all the positive reviews. We have now been and all the 5 star reviews are deserved. We were looked after well, the atmosphere was friendly and had the feel of everyone enjoying the place. We tried the signature dishes which were delicious and we all wanted to dry the desserts. It feels like they take a lot of pride in what they do. So just wanted to say thank you by adding another 5 stars.
