Very good food, nice environment and great staff

I popped in for tea after a busy day and didn’t want to cook. I had the pie of the day (steak) with chips and veg. It was lovely. The pie looked good straight away, the chips typically pub like , the separate pot of veg with broccoli, carrots and red cabbage was lovely, cooked to perfection, without having the crispness and goodness boiled out of it. I cracked open the pie and it spilled out with lovely tender pieces of meat and gravy, there was a gravy boat included but pie itself had enough gravy in it. It was a rare day of heat and sunshine so I ate outside with the beautiful view of the river, aqueduct and viaduct.

absolutely horrible i hated it in my guts

Absolutely disgusting! Waited 1hour and 30 mins for food to arrive it came cold and inedible! It’s disgusting food disgusting service not friendly horrible pub will Never return and NEVER recommend Learn how to cook a steak! This is not medium rare! Absolutely vile place Sunday roast cold and over cooked dry and disgusting not edible! VILE PLACE!!!!

Just had a meal here husband had Rump of lamb 3 very small slices for £20.99!! If that alone wasn’t bad enough, I had Scampi & chips when it first arrived chips didn’t look great just over done. Tipped scampi from the dish & peas from the mini pan. I asked for mayo & got an almost empty bottle. I opened top any scooped up mayo from my knife so just got on with it! However after eating 2 pieces of scampi I was disgusted to see a black hair about 1” long. Called waitress over who advised Chef ‘was blond’ I advised that it couldn’t be me as I have long grey hair & hubby is almost bald! I was offered a replacement but I do not like to eat when everyone else has finished so refused, I was given a refund of my meal so I guess problem sorted!! I’m staying in Foxtails opposite so sadly won’t be back such a shame for the campsite but a lack of care hurts all small businesses.

Came for a drink and a snack with some friends on Friday night and was served by Katie. She was helpful and can pour a hell of a pint. She’s a genuine credit to the place

Even though it's on tripadvisor and on Meerkat meals I was advised they no longer serve food. Which is a shame as I'm sure there's a market for it in Weston Rhyn
