We were staying just along the canal from the Bridge and booked a table for Sunday dinner. We ordered 2 medium turkey and one large beef dinners, one of the medium ones was gluten free as my partner is coeliac. When they arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the size, the plates were filled with a really good looking roast dinner. Everything was obviously home cooked fresh food which smelt and tasted great and at the end we were all full and unfortunately had no room for desert. Next time we are having a weekend away in this area or even if we decide on a ride or drive out this way the Bridge is somewhere we will definitely eat at again.

We arrived at The Bridge Inn, which is 5 minutes down the road from The Poacher's (Don't go to The Poacher's - Read my review on their site for the same day 05.04.2024). Our visit to The Bridhe and was an amazing experience. Small, cozy, friendly, welcoming, table for two found quickly, even though the pub was very busy with many regulars. The pub had a great traditional pub feel. Everyone knew everyone. There were dogs present and I loved petting the black Cocker Spaniel. Food, fish chips and mushy peas to die for. Very good experience. Thank you The Bridge for being so friendly.

I’ve frequently visited this place with my partner, and we love it. The food is incredible and the Sunday Roasts are amazing . We bring our dog Roux and even he gets to eat something, today he had the roast beef end cuts which he loved. The people are so friendly and we’re really made to feel very welcome. The best Sunday roast I’ve had for a long time and it comes in several sizes to suit the individual appetite. They also offer a takeout roast which I buy for my elderly mother and she says it’s delicious too. 100% Recommend and we will be visiting again very soon. They also have outdoor seating area with a fabulous view of the aquaduct. It really is such an enjoyable experience. Thank you all at the trap ( The Bridge Inn).

We stayed at a campsite close to this place. The pub's flyers at the site say they serve food every day of the week. They don't. On Google,it says they open Tuesday at 2pm. They didn't. After many unanswered phone calls.we got someone on Thursday afternoon and tried to get a table for 2 anytime after 7pm. Were told they had a booking at 6.30 and wouldn't do food after that. We gave up and went to the nearby poachers instead even though the food and drink in there is less than great. Not exactly a great advert for the place.

We visited 3 times in the past week, during our holiday in Chirk. Dog friendly, which was essential for us. Nice place, friendly folks, good beer (London Pride was on form). Hope to visit again later in the year.

This is a lovely little pub with wonderful views of the Chirk aqueduct. They serve a couple of real ales, some nice lagers and strongbow. The Guinness was excellent. Although we didn't eat here, the food was very reasonably priced and looked stunning. We were rather miffed at having cooked on the boat - the burgers look huge and epic. Just a word of warning; Google maps does show that it's only a 3 minute walk from the canal, which is true but it's quite a steep hill to go down and come up. This really is a lovely little pub with friendly locals.

It was okay, presented well, after eating our granddaughter said there was a fly in the basket tray, I checked it and to my horror it was not a fly but an earwig crawling round the basket tray, this made me feel sick, I brought this to the attention of the waitress who offered to give me another pizza. We didn't make too much of a fuss, as it often spoils the evening and also I didn't want to alarm our six year old. But for absolute sure I will not be going back there. We were cruising the Llangollen canal and the Bridge was a short walk from our moorings. The pub has a nice cosy 'Local feel' to it but is also very welcoming to newcomers. Unfortunately the day we arrived the chef had been taken ill and there was no hot food available which left us in a predicament as we hadn't ingredients on the boat to make a proper meal. The Landlady couldn't of been more helpful and offered to phone up a local take away and let us sit in the pub to eat it, they also provided cutlery and condiments. There was a good selection of well kept Ales and the night was rounded off with a penalty shoot out win for England against Columbia in the world cup !! Not only the best chips ever but fish was very good too. Definitely worth walking down the hill from the canal for!

There is a great view of Chirk aqueduct but our meal was fairly uninspiring - we had sausage and mash and fish and chips. It was in handy walking distance from our mooring on the canal

Lovely character pub. The food was excellent. " best gammon I've had in ages " according to my husband. Friendly staff. Short walk from the Llangollen canal. Excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner if boating on the canal, or walking or cycling on the tow path.

Very friendly staff, great menu and great selection of beers and ciders, including guest beers. The view from the pub is fantastic, and takes in both the Chirk Aquaduct and the railway Viaduct and really for us, with a glass of cider in hand, was possible the best view in England!

The new Landlords are really pulling out all the stops. Very welcoming, good food. Sunday lunch is very good and all home made. The pub menu in week is very good too. Nice outdoor area with view of the Aqueduct.

This pub is located just down the road from the Llangollen Canal and it’s a friendly establishment. Good beers and a nice bar, but no food on the night we were there.

Visited in the evening for a meal. Great curry and a burger served by very friendly staff. Really nice locals as well. Roaring fire was really welcome during the snow.

Myself and my husband were staying at Henlle Hall as we do every 3-4 months. We decided to go for a walk along the canal and stumbled across this little pub! We only planned on going in for a pint but after seeing the food they serving we decided to stay and eat and watch the football. It’s a lovely little pub win a very friendly and welcoming lady behind the bar! The veggie option of mushroom Wellington was amazing! Cooked from fresh! Will be returning again in the summer when we come again!

Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.

The cafe is efficiently run and we enjoyed the rooftop seating in the sun today. Unfortunately the scone was stale. Quite a shocker for me! What a shame :(

I must echo the views of others. A really lovely restaurant spoiled by sparrows landing on the the table where cakes are being cut and on uncleared tables. Very unhygienic - there must be a way to stop them coming into the tearooms. Never encountered it anywhere else. Health and safety would have a field day!
