What a lovely hidden gem, just 20mins from Shrewsbury. This was our 2nd visit for the Sunday carvery and it definitely didnāt disappoint. All three generations loved the food and the atmosphere was lovely, bright and welcoming. The staff couldnāt do enough for us! Especially, my elderly parents. Itās unusual to get Lamb on a carvery and it was cooked to perfection. As were the accompaniments. The puddings were also very tasty too. Will definitely return - just wish they had a website, so I could see what other food they offer besides Sunday dinners!

We came on recommendation from a friend. My partner was treating me for valentine š. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, hot and well presented. Itās been a long time since Iāve had a blue steak which was warm all the way through and melted in my mouth. My partner enjoyed his steak too, said itās the best steak heās had in 5 years šš. Iād like to say a big thank you for a lovely last minute meal as I only phoned for a table 4 1/2 hours earlier š. The pub area looked fantastic. Traditional with a roaring open fire.

Forget breakfast ever turning up. After 75 minutes of waiting I gave up. The waiters are polite but itās shear chaos behind the scenes and best given a miss unless you have all morning to spare. Very disappointing and this poor service given less than a thumbs down. Avoid.

I was taken out for Sunday Lunch yesterday at this Pub. I would not recommend this place at all. There was not a menu was told only beef or pork so we all ordered beef. We sat and waited and waited for food to come. When the meal came presentation was awful the Parsnips were not cooked and the BEEF was so tough it was terrible. We would never go there again

Having been going to the Poachers for many years, we had a very disappointing experience today. My mum and I were 12 minutes late for our booking. Admittedly we were late but when you are trying to help a disabled person, things donāt always run to plan. Mum having struggled in to the restaurant, we were told our table had been given away which, given how comfortable the other customers looked at our table, must have been done within minutes of our booking time. So no grace period - clearly just focussed on bums on seats rather than customer loyalty. Yet the online booking system was showing free tables all afternoon. Fortunately we discovered the delights of The Queens Head near Whittington and will be going there in future.

Even though it's on tripadvisor and on Meerkat meals I was advised they no longer serve food. Which is a shame as I'm sure there's a market for it in Weston Rhyn
