We have been here several times over the years but this visit was our last. The vegetarian options were disappointing and they always grew their own vegetables as much as they could in the kitchen garden, but when we had a walk around this time, the area was overgrown and neglected. Food was ok but nothing special. Staff were friendly enough but when we asked for the high service charge to be removed as we were entitled to, their mood changed and they became very rude, Not sure where the original manager/owner and staff have gone but we won’t be returning.

A very nice restaurant, the ambiance is great and a good selection on the menu. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had the sausages and my partner the burger, they were locally sourced and had a great flavour. Could totally see that the pub is using g local ingredients, a great plus.

A have been out for Sunday roasts but this was by far the best I have ever had. Quality beef & trimmings, portion so big, I needed a doggy bag & demolished the next day! Friendly warm atmosphere! Sticky toffee is to die for!! I will be back!

Absolutely gorgeous meal! Don’t listen to the previous and recent reviews! Our first visit to The Pearl after a friend recommended it to us. We had, In my opinion, the best takeaway we’ve had for years! Non greasy, non oily, but extremely tasty, freshly cooked and fantastic value for money. The best thing for me was the sweet and sour chicken balls, ( the sauce was perfect and a natural colour, lovely consistency unlike other takeaways in the area) and the pork dumplings, wow, absolute heaven! Also the crispy chilli beef was fab! Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Bird in Hand. Our room was very stylish, clean and cosy. We were welcomed with smiles by Lucy and other wonderful members of the staff. The beds were comfortable with tea, coffee and biscuits laid on in the room. We booked dinner and were impressed with the service and yummy desserts. Our stay was everything that we wanted needed it to be, relaxing, wonderful atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be back if we are in the Witney area again.

Sunday lunch for four people was superb. Roast rump of beef cooked to perfection with generous vegetables including delightful fluffy roast potatoes. Starters bursting with flavour. Puddings likewise. Deservedly busy so be prepared to book well ahead. Despite that, attention from serving staff was impeccable. Good value for money. It remains amongst my favourite pub/restaurants in the Cotwolds and believe me I have tried many.

Lovely country village pub restaurant, serving really good quality food, ample portions and friendly staff. Sunday lunch menu was varied, offering a good choice for both adults and children alike. The mains were all very good (lamb, pork belly, vegetarian option & child's fish/chips), with plenty of vegetables and an enormous yorkshire pudding. Desserts were also very appetising, and again of good portion size. Staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The menu was gastro pub, ie fancier than normal pub grub. I had the oriental pork belly bites and then the chicken Milanese with fries followed by the biscoff cheesecake. Food was lovely and I was absolutely stuffed. The waiter was very friendly. Lovely lunch overall.

We went here for my birthday - an overnighter and from the pictures I was quite excited and certainly from the front it looks and is, beautiful. We stay in a lot in pubs of this type and all my remarks are in the context of other experiences. Let's start with the not so good and finish positively. Not so good:- We had dinner in the Swan Room which despite a radiator under the window was cold. Before we moved to the window it was cold enough for my wife to leave her outdoor coat on at the table. This room is in desperate need of 'warming up' and I'm not only talking about the heating. I know this stuff is subjective, but dark stone, white walls and bright 'naked' type light bulbs are not "cosy country inn". The room is cold and atmosphere-less. Some warm paint tones and colourful accessories to brighten the room up are desperately needed. Softer, warmer lighting should be tried - maybe colourful shades? The effect of the cold decor is that we weren't encouraged to stay longer with our meal and hence ordered less which translates in to lower income. The online menu differs slightly from the printed one. I really fancied the Sheperds Pie as advertised online with a pint of Hobgoblin Ruby, neither of which was available. They don't do Irish coffee!? Why? It's not rocket science and pretty much anyone can make it and it wasn't as though they were busy. The stairs from the lounge area to the bedrooms is STEEP and WINDING, beware! Another stair case from the carpark is available. Our room was overall nice but, some paintwork in our ensuite needed sprucing up and the divan base to the bed was yellowing discoloured - a bit yucky. See photos. The shaving mirror in the ensuite was missing and you needed training in Hogwarts magical skills to get the wc to flush. Finally, the good stuff. The meal was delicious, my steak being perfectly cooked and my crumble was yummy. Carpark is private and spacious and the staff were friendly. In context, the room was £155 for the night. Remember, this is a mid week low season rate without breakfast and quite frankly, not worth the money. Based on our experience, £110/night would have been a fair price. Lord knows what it is in the summer, but sadly there are so many others of this type to try, we wont be back.
