Bird in Hand in West Oxfordshire

Probably 40 years since visiting to play darts or bar billiards, and what a change and revelation. The food is good, honest, tasty, well prepared and presented.Staff were a delight to interact with. Will not leave it for another 40 years, will probably dead then.

We stayed here for one night for a family meet up. We couldn’t fault anything from the check in onwards the staff were all amazing. We had a separate room for our family meet up and the staff brought us all teas/coffees and then served us all lunch. Everyone said how much they all enjoyed their lunch. We were then served teas/coffee again. We then all chatted until most of them left. But us and another couple stayed overnight the rooms were lovely. As was the breakfast the next morning with a good choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts and pastries. Also a lovely selection of freshly prepared hot food. Would definitely return to this lovely friendly place.

Having lived in and around Witney for over 30 years, we have seen the Bird in Hand come and go in terms of quality and reputation. Until now it has been a ‘good pub grub’ kind of place at best. But now it is excellent and a long way from those ‘anything with chips’ days! The welcome is warm, the service is attentive without being fussy and best of all, the food is first class. But it isn’t poncey or pretentious either. A very good menu and several tempting specials too. Not cheap, but great food isn’t these days. Oh, and we loved the logo too 😉

Superb food in cosy atmosphere. We went for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The pub was busy but the service was efficient and very friendly. The quality of the food was excellent. We had the pink sea bream with a wonderful sauce and the pork belly with crispy crackling, served with fresh green vegetables. Will definitely return

Overnight stop to hospital in Basingstoke. What could easily have been a very stressful journey and overnight, stop turned out to be just what we needed. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and service, lovely big room with super toiletries.. Extremely clean. The only thing I would suggest is some coasters to put drinks on as some of the furniture is getting marks on.

Stayed here last night with my daughter and grandchildren.The family room is huge, immaculately presented, breakfast was excellent.

Wonderful food, friendly staff, immaculately clean... that's not to like ! We were part of a large group of people, and had a room to ourselves for dinner, just off the restaurant. The staff and food were amazing, right from the day staff, through to eveing and to the morning..... We stayed over and the room was very clean and spacious. We had room 8, it was a little on the stuffy side when we first entered, but it was absolutely perfect once aired and returned back after dinner. Beautiful fluffy quilt and pillows so comfortable. Iron and fan in the wardrobe, everything was lovely. We will definatly return , as we have family in Shilton and now we know it is dog friendly , that's even better! Thank you.

We didn’t eat here unfortunately as the food coming out looked superb. We were killing time before we could check into our accommodation nearby.so stopped for a couple of drinks. The garden was lovely and the service was very good and friendly. We loved the red kites circling over us all the time we were there. Never seen so many.

The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. The food was lovely and perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend this place for a Sunday Roast. There were 3 choices Beef, Pork or Chicken however we were told that this varies each week with Lamb sometimes as a choice. The desert menu was great and making a choice was difficult! My only complaint was that even though we were seated in the restaurant, there was a dog under a table nearby. I personally don’t think dogs should be in restaurants serving food and it’s also not good when people have dog allergies or phobias. I thought this establishment only allowed dogs in the bar area which was why we booked the restaurant. If you tell customers that dogs are only allowed in the bar area, then you should stick to that rule. Our visit was overshadowed by the dog, as one of our party has a severe phobia of dogs.

As my first hotel stay with my puppy I was a little nervous but the staff were super friendly at Bird in Hand. Ms B and I have given this place the thumbs/paws up and already booked several more stays in for the remainder of 2024. My evening meal was delicious and beautifully presented and I was able to bring my four legged friend to my table (under it) where she sat doing her best Jedi mind trick to drop some food into the floor. Our room was clean and had access to a small lawn which was perfect for late night loo breaks for Ms B. Breakfast was freshly prepared and I thoroughly enjoyed it whilst the staff were all very understanding of my puppy who still barks occasionally. We give it five stars (woofs)!

We had a one stay in the bird in hand, I want to thank the team for a great stay despite the lengthy power outage due to a local incident. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and filling and the service from the colleagues was exceptional. The location is great for exploring the Cotswolds, I will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Incredible food and wonderful service. Starter - heritage tomatoes and mozzarella with basil pesto was truly delicious. So too was the sea bream. Comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend this place

We visited yesterday while staying in the local area celebrating my in-laws wedding anniversary. Lovely welcome. Great to sit in the garden, enjoy the sunshine and the views. We were a large party of 12 so had a perfect seating area out the back of the pub. Food was excellent, as was the service. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back and would recommend to others. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely meal and brilliant evening.

Went out for birthday celebrations and the food was spot on, the pie was amazing, everyone really enjoyed their meal, relaxed service. Then came dessert, sooo nice

15 of us ate here following a family funeral nearby. The venue could not have been more accommodating despite the short notice (and the fact that they were also running a function at the same time). The welcome was warm, the service great and the food tasty and nicely presented as well as being reasonably priced. There was ample parking and pleasant facilities. All in all, a great place that I highly recommend.

Having completed eleven luxury sea cruises over the years, experiencing fine dining, I feel my wife and I are qualified to pass judgement on the quality of food and service at eating establishments. As such we feel that this is by far the best eating out place in the Witney area. To celebrate our daughter’s 50th birthday ten of our family members dined here on. Saturday evening. We were allocated a delightful cosy room on our own, which was perfect for our requirements. Despite the restaurant being very busy we received a warm and friendly reception. The meals, both starters and main courses were superb and faultless. The service was extremely efficient and friendly. Although we are what one might term fairly large eaters, none of us could manage the pudding course!, all feeling completely satisfied without that dreadful over stuffed feeling. The staff catered to our very need, brining in a cake which we had supplied ourselves, with lit candles, and leading the singing of Happy Birthday. Unusually, there was no Service Charge for a largish group, but I was more than willing to show my appreciation for a perfect evening with a generous gratuity - they simply deserved it, and many thanks to all of the staff for making our daughter’s special evening memorable. We will be back!

With previous glowing reviews, our expectations for the Bird in Hand were high. From the time we were greeted at reception by Adam, we just knew that our three night stay would be great. We had room 17 which is a large (16 foot by 14 foot) double room with a large comfortable bed. On entry, the room was warm and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, which had a bath with a shower over. One small point (from one of the older generation), it would be helpful to have a grab rail on the bath wall. Loads of cupboards and drawers to accommodate our things as well as a good sized wardrobe. The room included a large TV, an armchair and a comfortable stool, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, so all we required. There was also a very useful booklet (not to take away) explaining the local places of interest, and the Bird in Hand is very centrally located for exploring the Cotswolds. Although close to a noon busy road, there was no disturbance at night. Then there is the food, we ate in all three nights (we usually only eat in one night where we stay) because the food was so good. Two nights I had the Sea Bass with a lovely sauce, just great with dauphine potatoes. The middle night I had the Venison Cottage pie which was huge and so good. My wife had Goats cheese which she liked very much, second night she had the Chicken salad which was so big she could only eat half. Starters and deserts were also of a high standard. We would certainly recommend this as a place to stay, but make sure you book a table fo dinner when making a reservation, the locals love this place. That speaks mountains for the Bird in Hand. Final meal point, breakfast was also to a high standard, prepared and cooked to order, I could not resist having the Full English each day definitly a place to revisit.

Stayed here for the night after the Cheltenham Gold Cup, What a find. Charming people, fantastic super clean rooms. The best steak and chips I've had for a long time, a wonderful country pub feel, and a first class full English. Will be back.

Over the years we have been to the owners various establishments and have been very impressed with their high standards - food, friendly service and cleanliness - and yesterday, yet again we were not disappointed. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our venison roasts, absolutely delicious, followed by superb apple crumble. To keep going with such excellence is no easy feat and we highly recommend a visit.

Attentive- Excellent service from the moment you arrive. A lovely country restaurant with accommodation. The food was excellent - Prawn Cocktail, Chilled Smoke Trout for starters - followed by a Sunday Roast of Pork with all the trimmings. Dessert - Apple Crumble with Custard and Chantilly Cream. Wine - Excellent Malbec. Loads of car parking - toilet’s immaculate. We will be back!

A lovely place to enjoy a meal with friends, the food was excellent, surrounds amazing, enhanced by great decor of tasteful Christmas touches. This place had the feel of a fantastic country pub, the service was fine as well. So what took the polish off my visit, as everything I’ve said so far has been positive? There are a couple of things that’s left a bad taste in my mouth; the first is the price, obviously you expect to pay for quality, however, I feel that this particular ‘bird’ was taking a bit more seed than it needed. I was charged £4 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda, with ice admittedly, however I felt it was extortionate, I might as well of had an alcoholic drink for those sort of prices. The other thing I know caused the leader of our group some anxiety, and inconvenience to the rest of us, which was that the ‘card reader’ wasn’t working. The ways to pay were cash or bank transfer. Please, if this happens let the people who have booked know, so that they can ensure they have cash, and can let the rest of us know. Nowadays who carries cash? Not many of us, as it caused us all to limit our drinks orders. Bad for us, and bad for business. So let people know in advance, or the very least post it on your website. Good management would be, to have a back up method of card payment of your current provider if it’s so flakey. Don’t let such a fundamental basic thing, let your establishment down.

Had an amazing meal at a reasonable price. I had the steak burger with friend and homemade slaw it was delicious. Our Waiter was really friendly and attentive I can totally understand why they are top on trip advisor, so refreshing to actually pay for a meal these days and have such a good standard. Highly recommend 😊 thanks guys

Short break with friends for a visit to Christmas at Blenheim Palace for which the hotel was well suited. Large well appointed double room with en suite facilities and good wifi. The rooms are separated from the pub so we’re nice and quiet. Food was very good but a bit on the pricy side. Good selection of drinks. Breakfast was excellent.

Arrived on a very busy Saturday evening. Considering how busy the restaurant was we had excellent service with a smile from start to finish. Food was top quality especially the scotch egg and arancini starters. We are all looking forward to returning soon.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. Very relaxing and the bedrooms were so cosy and comfortable. We had both evening meals in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Food arrived hot and well presented. Top praise for the staff.

Could not recommend this place highly enough. Expect a call from my friends Andy as they've heard all about you, your food, and your passion for greatness, this is by far the best amongst all the great restaurants in the area. Witney and the surrounding area is genuinely unbelievable for fantastic food and drink per square mile. I work all over Britain and nowhere comes close. But bird in hand is the jewel in the crown. Andy has taken all the experience possible from his career in michelin star restaurants and I'm sure it won't be long before this is one too. Please don't pass this place by or you'll never know what you have missed.

This beautiful restaurant never fails to deliver a warm welcome followed by large portions of delicious food. The turkey breast, pie and scotch egg are highly recommended. Looking forward to returning soon.

My husband wanted to share his experience of staying at the Bird whilst he is working in Witney and I was not disappointed one bit.Tom, Harriett and their staff were amazing. They could not do enough to ensure our stay was nothing more that perfect, from welcoming us in to giving us tips of where to visit.The hotel rooms are spacious and well presented and the food was delicious- it was hard making a choice as the menus are well thought out and so much to choose from. Tom, thanks for getting Eric the monkey shoulder :) We will definitely be staying again.Thankyou for making our weekend memorable

The food is well prepared and beautifully served. There are the ‘normal’ dishes available but the daily specials are, indeed, special. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the chefs are very accommodating with special requests and needs. The winde list is great!!

Beautiful country hotel with exceptional comfortable ambiance. All the staff were welcoming, polite, helpful and friendly. The room was warm, clean, spacious and a lovely comfortable bed. Dinner was superb and everything that was being served to other tables looked as appetising as the food served to us. Breakfast was equally good and service at both meals was excellent.We don’t normally write reviews but we enjoyed everything about our short stay so much we felt compelled to compliment the Bird in HandWe understand that the chef owns the hotel along with his wife who is “front of house”. Well done to you and all your staff and next time we visit the Cotswolds or stop off on our way to, or from, Cornwall the Bird in Hand will be our first choice and, hopefully, for longer than one night.

Went for an impromptu dinner with my daughter and had the most delicious pork belly with lovely al dente vegetables followed by a treacle tart to die for with ginger cream - absolutely divine! A little pricier than where we would normally eat, but would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Huge thank you to the ladies and chef and the bird in hand for one of the best meals me & my partner have ever had. Food was ridiculously good, and the ladies who were our servers were great, happy, attentive and even gave some brilliant advice picking food. They were also really relaxed about a food allergy we had to accommodate whereby the chef was really happy to change the accompanying sauce for one of the main dishes which made us even more happy to be there. I would say the prices are relatively premium for food, but you will not be disappointed with the quality, flavour and portions. Thank you one again to the ladies and chef, we'll be back soon!

We were staying in a cottage at Currbridge and visited the restaurant 3 times during the week, as a result of a fabulous first night there. The food was amazing and served by very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Each night there was a warm friendly ambience coupled with the ‘buzz’ of those enjoying their meals. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and rate the visit 5/5

Lovely country pub . Good size car park . We stayed for one night in the accomodation attached . The rooms were large , bedding was fabulous. Plenty of storage . We had lunch followed by a first class dinner in the evening. The covid procedures were excellent. Staff were so friendly and professional.We enjoyed a great breakfast , very tasty and a good choice. Would definitely return , close to quite a few Cotswold attractions .

We booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our sons. The food was lovely, especially the scotch egg starter which was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend the steak and ale pie. I gave in to temptation and ordered dessert despite being full which was a delicious chocolate brownie with homemade marmalade ice cream. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.

Wanted somewhere special to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary and the Bird in Hand was a great choice.Some of us had the Sunday roast which was lovely and some had the specials or from the menu.Everyone was very happy with their meals. We have never been disappointed when ever we have gone there.Julia and the team are so welcoming and they can’t do enough for you. Once again we highly recommend this restaurant.

Pleased we found this gem of a place, looking for a dog-friendly venue for Sunday lunch, which was served in the Bar (as we had my dog with us.) Excellent food and friendly service. Confit of tender duck and Fresh thick fillet of Sea Bas, were all merited. Will definitely visit again. Pleased they had soya milk for my veggie family member. We will definitely return, soon I hope.

We have just returned home from a staycation around Witney and Oxford. We were fortunate to get a table on Thursday evening. What a fantastic meal! My lambs liver was outstanding and my husband enjoyed his steak and ale pie immensely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the venue is beautiful. We enjoyed our meal so much that we took our friends back the next evening. Our friend said his sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. They too thought the meal was awesome and excellent quality.

With the impact of COVID and a cancelled Spanish trip we headed to The Cotswolds for a staycation. Various gastropubs with rooms over a 7 night trip and we were fortunate to find The Bird in Hand near Witney.Out of all the places we stayed (many recommended in good food guides etc), this was the most amazing gastro experience! So good we returned twice in our 7-day trip and we will be returning again!Family-run, not a chain, it really shows - passionate, attentive and incredible service! Rooms are great.We live 3 hours away but now we have found this gem we will he making it a regular weekend visit!Can’t recommend it highly enough!

My husband booked the bird in hand for a couple of nights for my birthday. The accommodation is spotless and nicely furnished, the restaurant serves delicious food and the staff are amazing, a wonderful break away

Quite a day on Friday, 'er indoors had her hair done, it was our anniversary and rounded off with an evening meal at the Bird in Hand, our first post lockdown venture out.It was great to be back. A fabulously warm welcome on our arrival, everything Covid friendly and without distracting from the fabulous atmosphere of the place.The service was as friendly, professional and efficient as ever.As expected, the menu was restricted (Julia had already told us this when we booked) but the choices were well balanced. What we had was nothing less than outstanding and certainly worth mentioning: We had the Stilton Mushroom and the Chicken Pate to start with the latter accompanied by an amazing ginger chutney. We followed with the Goats Cheese and Red Pepper Tart and the Loin of Pork both perfectly cooked and finished with a huge portion of Eaton Mess and a Vanilla Ice Cream with Espresso.When I asked that our compliments were passed on to the chef and in particular mentioning the ginger chutney, our waitress returned from the kitchen with a bowl of it for us to take home! So, from us, a massive thank you to everyone at the Bird, it was wonderful to be back. See you again very soon.

Had a fantastic lunch with my son on Saturday. The food was excellent as was the service, I will definitely go again the next time I visit the area.

I was intrigued by the fact that this place has raving reviews on 3 different platforms.Well rightfully so. From the ambiance to the food this is an unpretentious but yet very curated place. The staff is is welcoming and competent. Seasonal menu with daily specials; everything skilfully executed. We would drive 1:30 just to eat there again.

First post lockdown meal and what a choice. The restaurant was “covid friendly” with all the necessary adjustments made but done so professionally it didn’t distract from the dining experience. Great friendly service from all staff from moment we got their till we left. Exceptional food as always (the pie is awesome!). So pleased to see them back open.

We have eaten at the Bird in Hand many times and have never been disappointed with the menu, specials, wine list or attentiveness of the staff.

All the food that comes from the kitchen is of the highest quality, cooked with fresh local ingredients

What a find. Lovely hotel with a great sized room. Exceptionally clean. Our only negative comment is that we were in room 3 and were subjected to an 6am noisy delivery to the kitchen which woke us up on Saturday morning. The restaurant was second to none with attentive staff along with a brilliant menu. Would certainly return but would request a room away from the kitchen.

We came here on a stop off to Bath just so happened to be valentine night, the staff squeezed us in and glad they did fantastic food and lovely staff and really nice owners. We have been made very welcome and have enjoyed our stay rooms are comfortable and quiet and breakfast was filling and as lovely as the evening meal, well done everyone at the Bird 100% recommend Just to add we both had steak and both were cooked to perfection and the Thai prawns & mussels were divine

We have eaten at The Bird in Hand several times but I've never got around to writing a review. Every time we eat here the service has been fantastic. The staff are all so friendly and efficient. The food is always delicious, the only downside of the large portions is that you don't always have room for the lovely desserts. I'm looking forward to finding an excuse to visit again soon.

Absolutely sickened the by the service received from the staff at the bird. I regularly drink at this pub, and we have had many family dos at this pub. - we recently booked my fathers 60th party for 23 people in the private room, this was no problem at the time but one week before we take a phone to call to say they can no longer accommodate. Make sure you check your booking or just book elsewhere because we will be spreading the word around Oxfordshire.

We had visited the BinH under previous ownership but only to eat. It was OK. When we needed accommodation near Witney we visited again. The place has been transformed. Our room was better than many hotels. Well appointed. Warm. Plenty of hot water. Service in the pub/restaurant was first rate. The food was good. Breakfast was excellent. They were very accommodating when we needed a space for a family meeting. Good location for a Cotswold break.

Highly recommended! We had a lovely meal for a group of 30 people. The quality of the food was wonderful, combined with great service and warm friendly atmosphere.

Don't usually leave reviews but thought this place deserved it. came here with friends a week ago and loved everything about it. Great meal ( had the steak and was perfectly cooked) friends had a mixture of other things and everyone was happy and loved their meals. Will be going back when we're in the area. We ate here on Friday evening. The food , wine and Cotswold whiskey 🤣🙄, were absolutely superb. The service was amazing and love the winter outfits girls. Thank you for a wonderful evening x

What a lovely place. I had the pie my partner had the lamb. Two alcoholic drinks and two desserts came to £66 well worth it. Would have paid more. Service was more than excellent.

Excellent in every way, this was our first trip away with our dog and we loved it, food was brilliant, we had breakfast and evening meal, couldn't fault either the food or the service, the staff were great, really made you feel special and made such a fuss of our dog, which he loved!! Accomodation was first class, lovely and clean and plenty of tea/coffee biscuits, will definately be visiting again, loved it!! Thank you!!

A couple of weeks back, four of us came for lunch on a Saturday. We ate off the regular menu. Very friendly and attentive staff, the service was fantastic and the food was superb. Three of us had the pie, wow, and what a pie it is, it's huge and stuffed full of large chunks of meat. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovely and the place was clean. The main reason I am writing this review is I had the steak burger and it was absolutely amazing! Best burger I have ever eaten without a doubt! I let some of my family members have a bite of it and they were gutted they didn’t pick it! Will definitely be back and recommending it to my friends.

I came here for my birthday and my parents wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. The food and wine was amazing. I had the beef wellington which was perfectly cooked and the gravy was so rich and delicious. The puddings were yummy and the staff were so friendly. Definitely coming back here again!

We were in Blenheim for the Bentley Cars centenary and spent the Saturday night in this great pub, restaurant,hotel. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff friendly and super efficient, the chef introduced herself and helped with our orders. The food was delicious and plentiful,as was the wine. We slept like logs in our modern comfy room. Can’t wait to return next year.

We have been three times in as many weeks and this restaurant never disappoints. Extensive menu and very high quality food, served without delay. Outstanding experience and highly recommended without reservation.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and overall very happy with the food and service. Staff were friendly and service was quick. We ordered a steak burger and chicken burger and both were delicious. Fresh ingredients and good portions.

Back to The Bird where the service and welcome is always good. However the menu changes very little over the year and as The Bird is used by lots of locals a change in would be very welcome! There are good specials the latest being Monkfish in a red pepper sauce with ratatouille and roasted sweet potato which we went for because of the same main menu. However these specials are pricey (£25 for the Monkfish). Please make a make a change the Mushroom starter has been around for a long time. Thank you!

This reminds me of an old joke. Customer says to the waitress I have 2 complaints. The first complaint is the food taste like sh*t. The waitress says sorry whats your other complaint. Why such small portions.

What a fantastic place to eat awesome building great decor awesome customer service lots of choices on the menu we had a table for 18 and we had super service the food here is sensational real cooked comfort food plus the deserts are amazing

This really is an exceptional restaurant in Oxfordshire, I was looking for a restaurant that showcased superb English food as my friend was visiting from Malaysia so that she could experience our food at its best in a lovely setting. For starter was a Scotch Egg with Bloody Mary Sauce (A MUST TRY) followed by two mains, The Steak Pie & Rolled Pork with filled black pudding with Apple & raspberry crumble and custard. The food was excellent and so flavoursome and friendly service. A very big thank you to all staff involved you showcased English food so so well. Delicious food with excellent service in very friendly atmosphere. The Sunday lunch menu was very good value for money with plenty of vegetables and choice of meats.

I visited Bird in Hand with friends and we arrived at the end of the lunch rush; the restaurant was busy, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was good.

A couple of friends, my children and I had Sunday roast at the bird in hand today. The roast itself was lovely (although roast potatoes weren't the best) and the vegetables and cauliflower cheese were a big plus. Staff started out being very attentive, however towards the end of our visit it was as if the staff had given up and we had to wait a long for our plates to be cleared, asked about puddings, bill etc. I actually even heard one waitress moaning about wanting to go home.

Three of us met up for a working lunch. Welcome and service were first class. We all had steaks which were a good size and cooked to perfection. If in the area again we shall return!

The welcome is warm, rooms fab and the food very good. A great place to stay. The staff are very halpful and happy. I would highly recommend it.

Because her own children are entertaining her on the actual Mothering Sunday, my daughter took me and her father to a celebration meal at the Bird in Hand. We found a wide choice of dishes and ours was well presented, very tasty and we felt It was reasonable value for money. More than likely to pay it another visit.

Cozy atmosphere, great service and excellent food in a traditional setting. Dishes are very elegantly presented and the restaurant offer an ample choice of plates including some very healthy options. Will definitely return!

Would just like to say a massive thanks to Julia & the Team for looking after us with a lovely Sunday Lunch for my Partners Birthday with the family. Great food, lovely setting and building and very generous portions!

We haven’t been here for a few years but after seeing the reviews decided to give it another try. Welcoming and friendly staff found us a table and the good service continued all night. The menu was not huge, which is a good thing. I had duck pate to start which was beautiful though a little more bread would have been good and a little garnish, my husband had the prawns which he said were lovely. We both had chicken to start and again was lovely. We would thoroughly recommend the place and met some lovely people. We will definitely go back.

Any restaurant that serves foie gras, a food that is produced by such barbaric practices that it is illegal to produce in this country is best avoided.

This was so Unexpected; the lunch menu on line looked a bit limiting but when we arrived there were specials on the board and a second evening menu on offer. We hadn’t eaten here before but decided that the reviews were so good we would try it...OMG what a delight!

Just visited here for lunch three people. Lunchtime menu superb and plentiful. Vegetables cooked to perfection and not like bullets!!!! Seeets were amazing and the service first rate . Thank you so much .

This is our 3rd visit to The Bird in Hand, I must say I absolutely love it, the food, the service, the accommodation and atmosphere are ALL top class, we will be back again, this time we brought the in laws with us and they loved it too, nothing was too much trouble for our little party, well done to all at the Bird.
