The best restaurants serving Default food in Dover South East

Met friends for breakfast on Sunday 16th Feb. Shown to our table. Teas and coffees ordered and breakfast ordered. Breakfast was delivered very quick. But could have been hotter. Only disappointing problem was the grilled tomatoes served on the vine which were a battle to separate and squarted on the table. Would be better with a half grilled tomato.

Yummy food for our half term family lunch. The suet pudding was proper homemade pub grub. We also had a very generous cod and chips and a steak cooked rare, as ordered, with a highly rated pepper corn sauce. The service was friendly and professional. We look forward to visiting again.

The website / google map claims it shuts at 5:30 on a Saturday. I stopped by at 3PM and asked a member of the staff till what time we could come in. I was told 3:30 - no hot food only hot drinks. Brought the rest of my family who were elsewhere in the castle and entered the cafe at 3:10, only to be told we can just take away as they have started cleaning. The tickets to these castles are not cheap so not pleased by some staff deciding to create rules on their own. 20 minutes is plenty to sit and drink a cup of coffee instead of being outside in the cold. I wish the staff were either paid enough or trained well.

If I could do no stars that’s what it would be, I get my food only live 5mins away it’s cold and tastes like cigarette ash, not happy and will not being ordering or recommending, disgusting, should have learnt the first time phoned before they got it wrong and still haven’t got it right .

We have been using this Indian for about 10 years and we always had a good experience with both dining and eating in but it seems to have gotten so bad recently.... The service is awful, that's if you can actually get hold of them. We paid for the curry to the delivery driver and they phoned up twice asking us to pay them!! Shame the food is always nice.

Excellent food and customer service from the manager and his bar staff was brilliant. Menu is varied and lots of choices. The place has outside seating and was beautiful in the afternoon sun when we were there. Its a nice venue for food and drinks.

This place has really gone downhill lately. The staff were very rude. Won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this cafe to anyone.

A lovely and friendly country pub. We were lucky enough to visit on an evening where a band was playing which was great. We pre ordered a grazing box which went down well with the selection of gins on offer from the bar.

Wonderful traditional pub with original decor and very good, very reasonably priced thai food from 5 pm to 8 pm and 12 pm to 2 pm on Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat cooked by a thai chef. Thankfully pub never succumbed to a bistro gentrified conversion in its 36 years just outside the Dover Priory Rail Station. This is not a bistro restaurant so don't expect restaurant service. Just enjoy the traditional ambience and old fashioned decor

Don't order from here. They take your money and lie about the delivery and an turns into an hour and a half. Even getting a refund is problematic. If you're too busy stop taking orders. Simple. Don't lie.

This place is shocking. Only one person on front counter serving about 7 customers they need more people on front counter service really slow.

was going to buy some whelks but disappointingly it never opened. why have opening times if you don't open at all ?? so disappointed and annoyed.

Had a fantastic meal! Had the steak and we was told it was supplied from Preston Butchers.. guess where our next meat order is coming from! Proper dinner and fairly priced! They don't do ale on draught, but understand why. Just ask. Kids were more than welcome to play on the play equipment outside and not sure why people would say otherwise! More than enough signs saying please be respectful with regards to age appropriate. Owners more than friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome Current owners been there over 12 years, must be doing something right despite the few bad reviews in my opinion . Give this place a go. You wont be disappointed.

Great service coffee was good also chocolate eclair and Cornish pasty busy place lovely staff very friendly and clean

You will see the previous photo's I posted compared to today. Pizzas bland, soggy greasy bases,. What has happened we used them on a frequent basis, but will no go elsewhere.
