We came to look at a sofa we liked the look of, and whilst trying a few we met the most AMAZING sales chick, Katie. Absolutely NO PRESSURE at all to buy, we ended up having such a wonderful shopping experience. Katie is a credit to not only Barker and Stonehouse but to ALL sales people. Thank you Katie, we are so excited for our new gorgeous sofa. You are the BEST

So we had booked a table here, there was six of us in total and three dogs… The pub was very busy,as to be expected as the Brighton half marathon had been on and also the FA cup game was showing on the tv’s in the pub. The service was very good and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was okay, not overly hot and not that much veg unfortunately. We were all pretty hungry as we had been out all day supporting my sister in law who ran the half marathon. The highlight was Brighton beating Newcastle to reach the quarter finals of the FA cup. My personal opinion,I’ve had better roasts elsewhere. But it was okay…

We’ve been to this cafe several times while in the Brighton area, and it is consistently good. The prawn salad is excellent and the sausage sandwich is top notch. Attentive service made the whole experience very enjoyable. Will return.

I hate to say this, but this must’ve been the worst ever experience I’ve had of having hot drinks and a slice of cake while eating out. I ordered a tiramisu hot chocolate and a latte coffee. Both of them should’ve been served in a mug, but were in cups, the drinks were tepid and the taste was very disappointing. The caramel chocolate cake was mediocre, far from what I would’ve expected in a high-end cafe. It was also like sitting in a refrigerator. When I picked up my spoon to stir the drink, the spoon felt ice cold as did we. The staffing levels were very poor, the young man that served us also ended up cleaning tables and taking away items to be washed up. While we were having our drink, he proceeded to put chairs on tables that were immediately behind us. This felt as though we were not welcome. I’m very disappointed in Waitrose, I was expecting way better than this! I don’t feel ever inclined to want to return to this place ever again!

We go here regularly for drinks and snacks and thought we'd give the roast a go, I should've realised that nobody else was eating any food at 1pm on a Sunday lunchtime before we ordered, it took 30 minutes to come out, which is average I guess but should've been quicker considering we were pretty much the only table having food in the pub, what we recived was absolutely shockingly bad, overcooked chicken which I couldn't eat, undercooked potatoes, clearly not boiled up properly before roasting, Stuffing balls were completely inedible, dry and hard as rocks, pigs in blankets were pale and not been wrapped in the bacon properly, there was no greens on the plate at all which the menu had said it came with, it was a spoonful of sweet potato mash, a spoonful of braised red cabbage, 3 potatoes and a small roasted carrot with a bit of gravy, for 18 quid I feel scammed and disappointed, bar staff are usually great but these two youngsters didn't seem very cheerful at all, nobody came to do a check back on our table so we just ate what we could and left most of it and went home, we drink at the royal george fairly often and won't be returning for a long time after this, shameful and embarrassing state of affairs, how can anyone serve this rubbish to the public and call themselves a chef? Yours Sincerely Colin Sous Chef at a much better restaurant in West Sussex
