I hate to say this, but this must’ve been the worst ever experience I’ve had of having hot drinks and a slice of cake while eating out. I ordered a tiramisu hot chocolate and a latte coffee. Both of them should’ve been served in a mug, but were in cups, the drinks were tepid and the taste was very disappointing. The caramel chocolate cake was mediocre, far from what I would’ve expected in a high-end cafe. It was also like sitting in a refrigerator. When I picked up my spoon to stir the drink, the spoon felt ice cold as did we. The staffing levels were very poor, the young man that served us also ended up cleaning tables and taking away items to be washed up. While we were having our drink, he proceeded to put chairs on tables that were immediately behind us. This felt as though we were not welcome. I’m very disappointed in Waitrose, I was expecting way better than this! I don’t feel ever inclined to want to return to this place ever again!

Need to use the disabled toilet .It was the worst toilet I have ever visited. The whole toilet needs deep cleaning as was disgusting and the cafe assistant had just finished using it and didn't wash their hands .Avoid unless you want to miss Christmas 🎄

For such an up market supermarket this cafe is a disgrace.Decor worse than awful and selection of food available very limited.Apart from us only people eating/ drinking were staff and got impression it was used as a staff room.Love the shop but cafe to be avoided

There as along queue and it is a stark and atmosphereless place to eat but if you are hungry and keen I supose it provides the opportunity to sit down

I ate in the cafe which is to the side of the shop. Service was lovely and food was good. The tables were not the most appealing but was okay. I had the Grain bowl and my friend had an all day breakfast. Both came with in 15 mins. Very tasty. Saw lots of people having what looked like toasties and smoothies. Will be back just for coffee next time and there is free parking for two hours!!!! Bonus!!

Blistering hot beautiful day....headed for Waitrose for a late breakfast Ample parking and good location Super fab friendly service Elderflower presse and a straw, with a nice fry up Nice airy restaurant area with choice of tables and seating arrangements, bench...chairs etc Really good value and again great service

Had a lovely brunch which was Toasted Rye and Seed bread with smoked salmon, egg and avocado. Made a change from our usual Granola made in store. Always served by very helpful and friendly people.

My husband and I stopped off here for lunch. We were served by a lovely friendly gentlemen. We placed our order and had a seat. There was no queue and we didn't wait long for the pea and ham soup with a rustic roll. Delicious. Lovely atmosphere and clean cafe. The toilet was spotless clean too. Highly recommended and we will go back when we in the area.

Every time I visit Waitrose in Hove I always receive the best service. There fresh produce is excellent too & not expensive as I thought before. Keep it up Waitrose

Great cafe,wide isles,lush bakery,delivery point for John Lewis,free coffee and a paper with the waitrose card...RESULT!.

Popped in for a coffee and get my bits and had time to spare for a coffee. The server Brogan was charming delightful and friendly accredit to the John Leeds group. And my coffee was fabulous xxxx

Love Waitrose. Their vegetables are always clean. But if you are unlucky, some of them are out of stock. It’s also clean place and decent quality with fair prices. I mostly go there as I live closer.

I just had my free coffee today when I had finished shopping. It was great and well appreciated whilst my baby dozed in the trolley. Waitrose is dear for shopping but it is very nice.

Love coming here for coffee and croissants - especially my young daughter who's highlight of the trip is Steve at the bakery - he is so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for tasty cakes, croissants, coffee - and most importantly friendly helpful staff.

Not only is the cafe extremely noisy, thanks to the hard surfaces throughout, but service is very slow, so one has to queue for a long time. This is no fault of the staff who are very friendly and very busy. The layout is awful, so that the staff behind the counter have to go out into the main area to get into the kitchen behind. And often they are short-staffed anyway. But the worst problem is poor hygeine. The food behind the counter is uncovered and on two occasions I have seen a fly landing on them. This happened again this week when one of them was flying around the croissants. There must be some way of keeping the food covered but still on display. In the news on the radio yesterday we were told that flies can spread disease very easily, so this should be of great concern to Waitrose.

Make sure you wear your earphones. Staff are so slow, 6 girls behind the counter just talking and complaining about a customer, I eventually got my coffee 15mins later, stone cold and not what I asked for. Total chaos, can hear other peopls conversations, you have to shout to be heard. Come on management send someone in to check now and then, Waitrose in Hove actually going down hill.Worthing Waitrose 100 per cent, staff nice and they consertrate on the work and the customers.

There are many better independent cafes around that offer better value. The coffee here is really hit and miss. Cakes can be okay, but are overpriced. Service can be slow.

Not the best of experiences this morning. Looking forward to breakfast having travelled from hitchin. No eggs with breakfast,can have something extra,OK.!! On paper plates as washing up machine wasn't working....!!! 4 people in restaurant/how difficult.Ok!! When it arrived, neither mushrooms or sausage were cooked.....no way.....got a refund.... £7.75 each....not as if it was a cheap meal...0 out of 10 for NO EFFORT......WAITROSE GET SORTED.

Not too sure how this cafe is still open and running or has even passed health and hygiene tests. Flys everywhere, a ridiculous amount. Very dirty floor and tables very dirty with kids muck all over it such as baked beans and crayon drawings on the actual table top (yes the white table).

Sandwiches fresh. Bags they are sold in take some opening, but better that than dry and curled up. Busy late lunchtime on a Friday. Our chosen table was left in a vile state by previous occupants, but as it was by the open door on this hot day, we went for it.(It was also as far away from a screaming child as we could get and not be in the car park). Took a looong time for the messy table and others to be cleared...as we were leaving in fact.

Bits of food on the floor...lots of flies where we were sitting..coffee seriously bitter i had to go back and ask for extra milk to dilute 2 undrinkable coffees and 2 cakes £5.50

needed a quick brekky as was busy that day ,,looked nice tasted nice..just enough to save the morning..polite staff too & never waited long for it

The breakfast are quite good quality, but today the bacon was very dry, I suspect it's been kept warm for a while?? The sausage was nice, runny egg too.

My office is only a 2min walk from this branch of Waitrose. I use to come In here a lot for lunch. Over a 2 week period my soup has come out to me cold on 3 occasions and on one occasion the plastic tab that that you break to open the soup container was actually in my soup. 3 others from my works were with me who will verify this. Friendly Waitrose staff but the quality of the food is poor and wait times on occasions are very high. P.s the soup of the day sign is hardly ever changed which the staff know about but cannot be bothered to update it daily. Not what you expect from Waitrose.

Open at 7.30 am so its great for an early breakfast and start to the day

We visited late on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't very busy in the cafe.

We consider ourselves very lucky to live within less than a ten minute drive of Waitrose concept store at The Dog Stadium in Hove.

I've been coming here two or three morning a week for nearly a year. It's open at 7.30 am which suits me. The cafe staff are friendly and courteous and the food whilst unspectacular is fine. Porridge and a coffee is about £2.50 (with a Waitrose card). Well worth it and handy for people (like me) on a budget.
