Very rude barmaid here! Would have spent a lot more if allowed and didn't shut early without warning when 30 people in there. Shocking

Hove park tavern (HPT) is good for a drink and you will find the salt of the earth here. Generally on a Friday (at this time) you will find a lot of trade folk but regardless of when you come you will find the regulars who are all super friendly. Overall I'd recommend it but I find the drink selection a bit limited and common. The garden gets sun for a very short time also.

They were not serving food when I went in nut said I could order food nearby and bring it in if I wanted.

Great place to watch football and enjoy a selection of good beers . Large garden area to chill and have a cigarette (I don't smoke) bar staff relaxed and friendly.

Pub was very shabby gents toilets was disgusting and needed a good clean also hand sanitiser empty in pub I definitely won't be going there again

This gave me feelings of being 18 again because I used to spend a lot of my time in a similar public house playing pool with my mates. Enjoyed a few drinks with my mates, playing pool. It was quiet and nobody interrupted us. A great place to enjoy pool during the week.

Enjoyed going here in the past but not a nice atmosphere. Several drunk and disorderly. Staff did best to sort out out. Lots of TVs with football so works well if that's what you are going for

Overpriced beer and understaffed! I have been in twice recently and the places is a shambles. Each time I’ve been there has been a lack of social distancing measures in place. A struggling pub it seems. It did not take part in the up to £10.00 off government scheme during the week and Sunday was a total shambles, we actually decided to eat a different local venue as there were no staff behind the bar to order food. Some staff are lovely, welcoming and friendly, however there are not enough of them! We are in no rush to return. Had a great roast dinner at a local pub on Montgomery Street instead!

A bit apprehensive.but that soon changed when entering pub. Was met by friendly staff who told me the rules and after signing in was led to a table. Had a great night catching up with friends and staff. Made very welcome and good time was had by all. Service was quick and easy your food was top notch and can't wait to gour back again.

I was quite nervous to visit after lockdown, but minutes after stepping through the door I could see I had nothing to worry about! Lots of safety measures in place, the staff were so friendly and explained all the changes and really put us at ease. We played some pool, and had some good, felt amazing to get some normality back and have a lovely afternoon at the pub! The place has been redecorated during closure and looks great! Love the little touches everywhere. Will definitely be returning!

I do wish the landlady of the " HPT" can come through this crisis and the pub won't be lost....

Love this place and it brings back memories from my youth when I used to frequent a lit more often. We had mulled wine just before Christmas and it was delicious.

Excellent fun good location for gigs and party's.

Friendly people food needs changing so geasy spoon

While the staff are super lovely and helpful they are understaffed (1 person on over lunch) so took over an hour and a half to get all our groups lunch order and the food wasn't great. The décor is old and tired, sadly feels like a place on its last legs like many local pubs. This was the first time I'd been in for at least 20 years so was sad to see how it and pubs in general have changed. Be nice if it could renovate and rejuvenate itself, and like I say staff are lovely (2 stars are for them else it would be a 1), and feel bad for the neg review and hope they turn things around.

Good atmosphere, food and drink, along with 3 well placed pool tables, a dart board, a little outside seating and about 5 parking spaces.

This is exactly what it says it is... A local pub, if you're not a local, you're not gonna be in for a particular warming time. If you're looking for more of a social place, there's many different pubs around the area. Just avoid this one.

No option to give 0 out of 5 Stars 🤐 Nasty, burnt Food & unhelpful staff. Wish I took a picture of the burger. Frozen bun, burnt, crusty & cold (what did this bun do to deserve being served stale,microwaved then burnt :'( even though menu says served on a soft bun) 'Microwaved' cheese which was congealed and tasted like plastic - I couldn't even cut through it. When I informed staff she said she would inform "Chef" (lol I wouldn't even call them a cook) Gutting as we were staving & still couldn't bring ourselves to eat the poor quality of what they call food.. Very upset - will stay well away. As there are many nicer pubs along the road...

Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat here but it's a great place for a few drinks and a game of pool after an afternoon in Hove Park.

Typical sports style bar, popular with locals, not the most family friendly.
