The order didn’t show up. Called three times and was told ‘10 more minutes’. After two hours and a final call, they owned up that they simply hadn’t cooked it. Cancelled the order but no guarantee on a refund from them. Absolutely sh!te

What has happened? Was so looking forward to this and chow mein was dry and tasteless with no soy sauce, the beans with garlic had no garlic... previous orders were fab. I hadnt ordered for a while and looking forward to this as so good previously

What has happened?? This was my go-to home delivery and I have been away for a while and was so looking forward to my meal. BUT My chicken chow mein was tasteless with no soy sauce on the dry noodles. I have never had so bad. I also had french beans in garlic....a massive favourite before...and no garlic taste just a watery gravy. Soooo disappointed. Will not order again.

Great place only thing wrong are the sauces the pots are really small so you need to order extra

We’ve ordered from you many times and always been very happy, but today the food was not good. Disappointed as I had visitors who I praised you to. The food was dried up and some dishes tasted warmed up.

It’s one of the best Chinese Sichuan food in Brighton. It was recommended by a Chinese friend of mine. The chef Mr Zhang is a master chef recognised by Chinese national cooking association. 50%of us are vegan. He is very kind and has recommended all the delicious vegan food for us. The food is delicious and flavourful and plentiful. Staff is very friendly. It felt homely and relaxing. We have had a great relaxing time there. Thank you

Best Chow Mein I've had in a long time. Szechuan Pork was disappointing - and not spicy!! But As they Offer some menu items not commonly available elsewhere, will be ordering a second delivery sometime as the litmus test to decide if there's a third or not. Expected 10, got 6 or 7 - which is a win for a lot of places but I'm pretty sure that there's more to be had with Gu Xiang Ju. Special Chow mein, szechuan Pork, vegetable spring roll set (and salt and pepper chips... sorry...)

Cannot recommend enough. Extremely tasty and much better value for money, compared to local alternatives. GF is Malaysian and she also was highly complimentary. Will be making it a regular for Asian cuisine

Relocated to Brighton couple years back & I’ve finally found my go to Chinese. Don’t hesitate, seriously great quality. Faultless

Waited 1.5 hours and nothing arrived so we called the restaurant and they had just forgotten about our order, they didn't explain why. Then we had to wait nearly another hour for the food to arrive.

Generally food was nice except grilled dumplings.

1 hour and 20 minutes from order to final delivery. What arrived was tepid, greasy, and tasteless. First and absolutely the last time ordering from this place.

Food was cold and delivery far too late

Good portion sizes and plenty of meat in dishes. Food nice and hot too when it arrived. Smiley delivery man too!

Although a little pricey, it was really tasty, good quality food and very friendly service. Highlight was the crispy chilli beef! Was a bit worried after ordering by looking at the Google reviews but don’t be put off! 1 item was missing but when I called the restaurant they kindly got the driver to bring the missing item with a free portion of spring rolls and a drink. Would order from here again

We have used this place before and it was excellent. This time it was at best very average. I assume it was cooked then sent out for delivery and therefore went soggy and mushy. Chips were awful. Won’t be using again.

please try chicken with garlic.. that my favorite one...

Food great however the banana fritter sticky sauce went on every item in the bag. The delivery driver didn't admit to dropping the bag as i found loads of tiny stones stuck to the bottom of the bag. I couldn't help but feel like the food had been put back by hand which made my meal less enjoyable.

I'm not sure if it's changed ownership or corners are being cut to manage costs, but the general quality of the food has dropped. All dishes we very salty and the authenticity of the food (present in recent years) seems to have gone. I know the restaurant was busy (why the food was late), but doesn't explain the drop in quality? A real shame as this was my go-to favourite takeaway :-(

Food was generally nice as always but squid was cold and batter was soft and floury, couldn't eat it. Happy to order again, hope squid improves

Probably the worst noodles I’ve ever had, the chicken noodle soup came with no soup at all, just soggy mushy bland noodles in a pot. No taste, no soup or broth at all. Called to complain and they refused to swap this disgusting food and hung up! Went straight in the bin.

The food was expensive for the amount we bought, and when it arrived the food wasn’t great, plus the sweet and sour was bad as it had almost no sauce.

Food was very, very bland, and took close to an hour to be prepared by which time some of the items were cold. Crackers were stale.

The food tasted burnt. It was very disappointing.

Normally my favourite place, but I think they gave us salt and pepper aubergine rather than szechuan aubergine, which was disappointing. Otherwise delicious, and quick and friendly delivery.

Warning - please be careful when ordering from this restaurant. They have incredibly rude, abusive and aggressive staff who are comfortable discriminating against disability’s and using threatening behaviour at your door.

ordered on deliveroo 2 hours ago and still hasn’t arrived. rang the restaurant to be told no one there speaks english so we couldn’t even complain or ask for a refund

Way too salty, couldn't eat salt and pepper squid, chips or crispy seaweed

We ordered a takeaway and spent 70 pounds. The pork dumplings were missing and the salt n pepper squid was completely off and nobody could eat it. It was really fishy and wrong. I've called many times and told they don't speak English. So what a waste of money Would not recommend!

Food and delivery excellent. Slightly pricey and a shame no complimentary free drink as in previous orders considering the price. Way too much salt on the chicken wings but would still order again as quality of food is usually good.

Only ordered from here a few times now but every time its got here quicker than I thought it would and still hot!!! they are not stingy with the meat , huge bitrs of chicken in the chow mein tonight , and the chicken balls are big with thin crispy batter! so nice! curry sauce has a nice little kick to it too

Food arrived hot and on time, the delivery driver was lovely and the food was as good as ever. It’s a bit pricier than other similar takeaways, but the quality is always worth it.

All three dishes were so salty it was uncomfortable. I couldn’t finish them. I like extra salt but the salt and pepper squid was so salty it was completely inedible.

Honestly the best Chinese take away I've ever had, the chicken noodle soup is absolutely delicious, the chicken chow mein was absolutely perfect and the chicken satay was gorgeous I will never use another Chinese takeaway as long as this place is open

It was obvious that a lot of care and attention went into our large order.

Food was over an hour late. When we called to check where it was, they immediately said 10 minutes, even though they didn't ask our name or order number! When we challenged them on that, they took our order number then spent another 5 mins discussing it. Eventually they said it would be 10 mins but it took another 20 at least. The worst thing is when it did get here it was bland and overpriced. Go to Magic Wok or China Garden instead, those places are amazing.

Litterally the best Chinese I've had in a while. To attention to detail on making sure everything was to your satisfaction. Food tastes incredible. Staff very very friendly Highly recommend you give them a go.

The food was cold, never known french fries from a Chinese before , chicken balls tasted of sponge and sauces were expensive for tiny tubs.

The food was hot and delicious.

Shame the driver took so long to get to us (a mystery as the restaurant isn’t that far away) that the food was mostly just tepid, rather than hot. The crispy duck was, quite literally, burned to a crisp, so it was dry and tough. We had to reheat the crispy prawns and the chow mein was so cold we decided to just leave it. Overall, deeply disappointing, over-priced and we wish we’d stick to our regular source of Chinese.

Amazing food. It wasn’t greasy at all and had so much flavour. The prawn roasts were full of prawns unlike a lot of places that just give you just toast! The lady that delivered our food was lovely and they gave a free bottle of coke too.

The food was delicious. But one of the dishes arrived half in its container and half in the bottom of the bag. I had to scoop it out of the bag back into the container - not good at all. The lid must have come off at some point.

I ordered salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips along with egg fried rice. Everything was so so salty, way more than is normal. It was inedible because of how salty it is.

The food arrived piping hot and in time. Which was great. But I ordered king prawn balls and prawn tempura. The "Tempura prawns" were done in the same heavy batter as the prawn balls. Not the light tempura batter we were expecting. Which was extremely disappointing.
