The best restaurants serving Default food in Allerdale North West

Myself, partner and kids frequently visit and love this café, we go early as they get busy and sometimes runout of hot food. I've tried the home made quiche, soup, scones, cupcakes and thier cheesecakes I couldn't recommend enough. The ladies there are super friendly and are generally lovely. We are always made to welcome. Wether we come for coffee and a cake or a spot of lunch the cafe never disappoints!

After getting off the train from sightseeing we needed a fish and chip lunch that was open between those times that a usual fish and chip is open. Up came Catch and to say the name is a good moniker it caught us with delight. Good food, full portions and great service. Even the Chinese options on the menu were a good choice for someone who didn’t want any egg or meat. Great lunch choices. Even had a water bowl for the dog. Will go there again. Lots of happy tummies that day.

My partner and I visited the restaurant for a lovely meal after a stressful week of moving home. The staff we pleasant, polite and friendly as was the service. The food was very tasty, freshly made and hot. The place had a good atmosphere, with space and tasteful decor. Worth the visit

We had a fantastic meal here for the last night of our stay in Keswick. Service was friendly and attentive and the ambience great. We shared a camembert starter which was excellent. My main was lasagne while my partner had a four cheese pizza which he loved. We shared chips and onion rings and finished with ice cream, which is a restaurant speciality. An excellent experience which we will be repeating in May when we return.

Good vibe in the evening, polite staff and amazing food. I had the fish in butter with garlic, hubby had lamb burger and daughter pulled pork. All very tasty and we would put this as our favourite restaurant in Keswick.

As a Husband to a Low Fodmap, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Coeliac (and then some) Wife, I’m always disappointed in the free from offerings when we go anywhere…… Not here! We were thrilled to find this cafe and when we went in for a coffee and a cake, we certainly were not disappointed. We both had Oat Milk coffees (not my scene, but I’ll try for my wife’s sake) and cakes. My wife had a chocolate brownie(GF,DF) and I had a vision of deliciousness that was a slab of delicious caramel and lotus loaf cake from heaven!!! (Sorry, not GF, but DF…EVERYTHING IS!!) Upon getting ready to leave, the staff checked how our visit had been and asked for feedback. I love it when people want to know how you found their business and how your experience has been, just gives it that little bit extra appeal. Definitely going to visit again soon, probably today.

Coffee is a 3 out of 10 not so keen for this coffee.

We drive all the way from Wigton for the Donner wraps from here, they’re the best in Cumbria without a doubt. 10/10.

Had their famous Hungarian Goulash, well I have seen more meat on a butchers pencil.

Check before booking here, priority is business over service. My father who is very old made a booking by mistake, we immediately contacted The Royal Oak but were told advanced bookings are non-refundable regardless of the circumstances. We were looking to book once our plans were more firm but will not be booking here due to the poor service and lack of understanding.

Typical pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent food and friendly staff. We ate the specials of the day, the Pie was super good. The desserts are also excellent, as are the beer and Irish Coffees at the end of the meal. Highly recommended, they serve food all afternoon!

The room was dirty .. shower filthy and damp and spores on the corner of the wall in the room . Not good at all . Will Not be returning.

First time calling in... Atmosphere brilliant... Service OK... coffee disappointment... Looked at the food and it looked freshly made possibly maybe duno...but definitely expensive food wise... If I had to choose... Muffin break or costa across the road.... Id go to greggs.
