(Note: this restaurant is also known as 'siOn') We booked because the restaurant was within walking distance of Dulwich College - but not without trepidation as the website is aimed at diners forty or more years younger than some of us. We need not have worried, we were all made very welcome. siOn was taken into five-star territory by the quality of the food, which was excellent. We ordered a wide variety of 'smalls' and 'sides', eaten tapas-style, not a duff amongst them. Music a bit on the loud side, no hot drinks, short wine list, great cocktails. Friendly, attentive and responsive staff. No automatic service charge. An easy five stars.

I ordered a takeaway from here and the food is amazing, what isn’t great is the delivery driver’s attitude, he was extremely rude. His attitude would stop me ordering from here again which is a shame as the food is excellent. Someone needs a lesson in customer service! I have ring doorbell footage of him and happy to share it, I’ve made the restaurant aware so let’s see if they respond.

Exceptional! We have eaten twice at Walter’s and must say it’s our new favourite restaurant in Dulwich. The staff are excellent, and the food is divine! A great new addition to Dulwich.

We chose this venue based on location, a visit many years ago and it's a Youngs pub, except, on the Thursday before Good Friday, there was no Youngs beer. A second waiter rattled off a long list of lagers so we chose Two pints of Guinness and a Pravha only to be told 5 minutes later the Pravha is off too. It took 35 minutes to get our drinks from walking in, yes we spent a few minutes debating whether we should leave but decided to give it a go and ignore the table of lads f'ing and blinding loudly, not a great start. The food was good and served quickly, back on track, after the mains we were asked if we would like a dessert, one of our group said yes to be told "all we've got is ice cream", slipping again. For a Thursday before a Bank Holiday weekend I expected the pub and restaurant to be busy and buzzing, it was not, the conservatory area was very quiet and lacking atmosphere and at 2130 we were the only ones so we move to the pub area seeking a bit of life, it wasn't much better ,but there were 3 or 4 other groups. One of the bar staff was bordering on rude, certainly unwelcoming, and there was a general feeling from the staff everything was a bit too much bother and couldn't wait to get rid of us and shut the doors. The best pubs or pub restaurants have something about them, a buzz, staff with some character and charisma, the sound of laughter and chatter, people who like to host......not here on a Thursday I'm afraid.

Bien hecho.
