Manuel's Restaurant and Bar in Southwark

As usual the food and overall experience were outstanding: fresh ingredients, imaginatively prepared, generous portions and friendly, efficient service. It’s difficult to pick out favourite dishes - fish, pasta, bruschetta….all of them really. Our guest was very late but the lovely staff took it in their stride. We count ourselves fortunate to live within walking distance of such a great restaurant.

Manuel's Restaurant is simply first class and one of the best fish restaurants you will find in either London or Dublin. Beautiful restaurant, during our visit we were treated to a relaxed atmosphere with a subtle live performance of Brazilian jazz to compliment our delicious food. The menu is confident in the choice it offers augmented only by the unpretentious care and attention with which they're cuisine is served. Delicious authentic Italian food- huge portions and plenty of options. The best Italian food I have ever tasted - and I have been to Italy!! The beef rigatoni pasta is absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. The restaurant itself is small and has a cosy vibe and great ambience. Highly highly recommend!!

Mi spiace ma nonostante siano persone molto carine e il cibo buono si sono presentati dicendo che la cucina non andava per cui se volevamo rimanere solo cibi crudi. Ordiniamo quanto di crudo si poteva mangiare.....poco e arriva tutto dopo più di 45 minuti. A questo punto ci avvisano che la cucina è di nuovo operativa per cui ordiniamo altre cose. Tornano dicendo che il forno non funziona per cui dobbiamo cambiare le ordinazioni. Per farla breve abbiamo pagato 408 euro in 5 senza scuse né un euro di sconto anzi ci hanno addebitato anche le olive non ordinate

Always a wonderful treat to go to Manuel's. Food, drinks, service are without fail of exceptional quality. This has become our go to place for family celebrations and also for special nights out as a couple - not to forget the brilliant music nights. The place is full of character and charm. The whole team make you feel like you're part of their wonderful, warm-hearted, generous family. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Manuel’s is beyond doubt an exceptional Italian restaurant. From the moment you step inside the courtyard you’re not in London anymore. You’re in Italy. Everything from the ambience, the decor and the hospitality is unique… and that’s before you even get to taste the food which is just beyond exceptional. We’ve been to Manuel's loads, as we are lucky enough to live nearby. And one thing that has always stood out to us is that when we order a stater to share the kitchen plates it up separately. So we each get a perfectly presented dish…. No sharing plates and forks here! That’s a level of hospitality and service I can say that I’ve never experienced before. And if that wasn’t already enough, Manuel also provides nights of live music to his guests at no extra cost. These include Elton John, Whitney Houston, Amy Whinehouse tributes, as well as Opera nights. I literally could not stress enough how wonderful Manuel’s is.

Home made Mediterranean dishes and the best hospitality. It was our first time and the treatment received it was impeccable. Great food and great service, probably one of the best meals I’ve had in years! Thank you Manuel and the team for an amazing experience that made us feel at home.

Manuel's is the best food in Crystal Palace, hands down, and one of the best restaurants in London. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, as are the cocktails. Higly recommended!

We. had a lovely evening here with our son, daughter in law and their two year old baby. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The staff took a lot of trouble giving us a toy every now and then for the baby to play with when he became restless. I wish we were coming to London again soon as my husband and I would love to return. Mains were as good as the delicious deserts. We didn't have starter because it would have been too long for the baby to sit in a high chair. I recommend the creme brulee with fruits.....really more-ish. A pleasant peaceful friendly atmosphere with music not too loud. We hope to come again at some point. Would definitely recommend.

We went here because it was close and downhill! We were very happily surprised by the quality of the food and the warmth of the welcome. Our vegetarian daughter was very impressed with the artichoke starter declaring it the best she had ever had. I had home made lobster and crab ravioli which were delicate and delicious . In fact all the food was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again. It really felt like an evening in the med.

What a find! This authentic Italian restaurant exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was genuine, the menu and choices amazing and a varied wine lost. The food, prepared and cooked by the owner Manuel was sublime. A real taste of Italy.

Although this is local to us it’s been years since we ate there. Searching for somewhere to have Sunday lunch we decided to give it a go. My partner ordered the Sunday Roast (lamb). It was outstanding. I had home made ravioli that really tasted of its ingredients. We shared a freshly made bruschetta as a starter. The food was faultless and the espresso strong enough to keep me going until next morning! Charming service and unsurprisingly it’s clear it’s a favourite with locals.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate my mother's birthday. We had a wonderful round table for the 11 of us. We were warmly welcomed. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was very good. We chose from across the menu and no one had any complaints. My daughter has a number of dietry needs which were taken seriously and met without fuss. At the end of the meal, "Happy Birthday' was played and mum was given ice cream with a candle to blow out. It really was a nice finishing touch.

An excellent lunch - one of us had a very good roast dinner (it was Sunday) and myself and another friend both had a different pasta dish. It was all obviously freshly prepared, piping hot and with generous portions. The dessert list offered a very good choice. The service was very good, attentive and friendly.

My favourite restaurant in the whole of London! Get together your best and funnest friends, book a table on a night when they have a tribute act and get ready to have the best night of your life. The service is excellent, the music is excellent, the lobster linguine is EXCELLENT and the atmosphere is unlike anywhere else I've been in the world. Everyone gets up and dances, sings along to the songs, and everyone is there to let their hair down and have fun! I've been here probably ten times and it's always excellent. It's also perfect for a celebration!

We visited Manuel's twice, going back as our first visit was excellent. I particularly liked their sea bass. I especially recommend the minestrone soup, very fresh, it was the best I have ever had.

This is a local restaurant trapped in the 70's kind of 007 style...it's got class and the food is amazing - we love this place...yes it's a bit pricey but it you like proper service, fine wine and linen tablecloths then this is place...definitely recommend...
