Excellent, excellent, excellent evening out locally! Food delicious, service pleasant, so good to have a French meal ! We will be booking again……make sure to ask for the heaters to be switched on! Keep the chef, keep the waitress she is new and promising. See you soon, we really had a special evening.

We've had 3 fantastic meals at Chez Lucie -it is small and intimate with a great atmosphere. On our second visit we ended up having such a lovely chat with the couple next door that we eventually just joined tables for dessert. The food is brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered by l'escargot, cassoulet and petit sale aux lentilles were particular highlights. Yes, the service could be a tad more polished but this is a new restaurant finding its feet and I think it's great that younger people are being employed -this is what I did in my youth and twenties too! My one tiny comment for improvement would be to use fresh whipped cream on the dame blanche, rather than canned, but that is a small thing and the chocolate sauce is delicious and worth ordering for it alone! Definitely worth a visit and great to have another independent restaurant close by and doing something that wasn't previously there. Great place for adult families and couples in the evening (and I'm sure children too, we just tend to eat late, so there haven't been any when we've gone).

This place is great - reasonably priced and delicious. We've been back twice since it opened. Recommend the escargots and cassoulet.

I recently dined at Chez Lucie for dinner with friends. The restaurant itself was freezing cold and seemed not to have any heating making the experience rather unpleasant. Staff were young and inexperienced so the service was not good and errors were made with several of the orders in our party. The food itself was average and nothing outstanding. All in all not a restaurant I’d return to.

Awful please avoid. French onion soup which was unlike any I have ever tasted. Huge disappointment! The staff were nice people and trying really hard but were swamped and looked about 12! The chef said they had their own way of making it! They certainly do, I normally will climb over broken glass for French onion soup and the only thing broken was my poor taste buds!

This sister restaurant to Chez Yves in Penge is a great addition to Gypsy Hill/Crystal Palace area....Had an excellent dinner, with attentive staff, in a very nice French decor setting....French classics done really well, ranging from beef bourgignon to tartiflette....Would also recommend their excellent range of crepes for dessert....

I really am struggling to say anything good about this place. The food is mediocre at best and service is non-existent. I would avoid at all costs

La comida es deliciosa, el vino es bueno y el personal es muy amable. Decoraciones encantadoras sólo un poco caro. Nunca recibí una factura detallada, por lo que no pude verificar después lo que la hizo tan cara.

Food was lovely but service was so disappointing I wouldn’t eat here again. We ordered a selection of plates that were whisked away as soon as they looked vaguely finished (they weren’t), we had only just ordered dessert (having asked three times for the menu- generally the waiters were very inattentive and it was hard to get service) when we were told the restaurant closing. We had only been there for about 1hr 15 minutes by this point and weren’t given our table until 8.35pm despite booking for 8.15pm (which was earlier time for evening sitting). We told the waiter we needed to have dessert but then were told three times (whilst eating it) we needed to go and were given the bill before we’d received dessert which I’ve never experienced before. As soon as we had paid I felt like we were just being hassled out, particularly by one large bald guy who resembled a bouncer. Despite spending over £100 on a couple of bottles of wine we had plastic pint glasses planted on our table and when I went to toilet I returned to the table to find my wine glass was gone and wine decanted into plastic. This totally spoilt the enjoyment of almost a full glass of a nice wine, which I ended up leaving. The final straw was the bouncer guy coming over and telling me us rudely they were closed and we “needed to leave”. It wasn’t even 10.30pm and still felt early - plus other customers were still there. We felt like we were pushed out and it completely soured the evening which was a birthday celebration - and felt a bitter end. Bora Bistro I had high expectations - and you failed miserably.
