The kebabs were so good from here! The chicken sheesh was to die for and so was the lamb donor - would recommend to a friend - best kebab I’ve had in a while
Raro.
Great place for Brunch. Many vegetarian and vegan options. We've tried almost all of the vegetarian and vegan brunches by now and were never disappointed.
Ordered for delivery a best of both worlds meal deal and a pastrami steak box. Turned up stond cold and the pastrami in the combo was miniscule compared with the other. Considering it cost 24 pounds for a single burger chips and a tiny little piece of pastrami I feel ripped off and disappointed. Wont be returning.
Worst KFC I have ever been to/eaten at. I ordered a large chips and I'm not kidding when I say it's the same size as the Macca's small a few doors down. A bit stale and unseasoned. Reviews for this branch are bad for a reason. The poor guy who worked at the counter also couldn't understand my order despite repeating it several times- he kept saying 'okay' despite being asked what size things were etc. it's always empty too- so I should have known from the door.
Really enjoyed coming back to the Duchess following its recent refurb (I live just up the road, it’s my local). I love the ambience…more pub than formal restaurant but superb food in an informal easy going setting.
I had the steak which was cooked perfectly, and very tasty.
I’m also pleased that they have gluten free beer on tap, so much nicer than the bottled stuff. They have an extensive wine list and cocktail list too.
Will be visiting much more frequently now!
This was one of my favourite coffee shop in Islington and it has closed down (and moved to Tottenham Court Road). The staff was friendly and polite and the coffee was really strong and nice.
Jiji successfully combines and modernises the best traditions of two cultures- Japanese and Mediterranean - to create an outstanding and distinctive cuisine. The food ranges from excuisite sushi to subtle tasty vegetable dishes (the cauliflower is an unlikely triumph). You could describe it as ‘fusion’, but so much lazy nonsense takes that label, and Jiji is on another level. The wines and cocktails are also superb. All of this happens in a modern Japanese take on an Art Deco dining room. (Don’t miss the monkeys in the loos - it’s all a bit White Lotus). On the basis of several visits, Jiji is hugely enjoyable and thoroughly recommended.
