Ate with friends this week. Service friendly. Starters great. Mains average and a little pricey. Desserts tasty and very filling. poor selection of no / low alcohol drinks and single shots are pricey at £6-9. Seemed pretty quiet and they had door open all night which made it a little cool.

Last night I scored 5 points for this beautiful restaurant where we went with a reservation of 5 people, and we spent pleasant minutes singing live by the singer and with the help of the staff, it was a very nice night, I thank everyone who contributed to us

The menu failed to mention that the tuna melt contained nuts (and also apples), resulting in my friend having a severe allergic reaction. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff blamed us for not scrutinising the fine print at the bottom of their hard copy menu even though their website showed no mention of nuts (photo attached). They took a considerable amount of time to assist us which I then had to speak to staff at the bar to call their colleague back out. They didn't apologise but proceeded to keep blaming us then said their website had been updated a week ago? I ended up rushing my friend to A&E which thankfully she was seen to and didn't die. The restaurant said they would call but never which is so disappointing. PLEASE update your website and your menu and make it clear what ingredients you put into your food before someone else has a horrible experience. I'm sorry but who puts nuts and apples in a tuna melt and doesn't state this on their menu? :/

We had a reservation for 7 people for a birthday party on Saturday evening. We bought a set menu, the food was terrible. It was very heavy and had no taste. They used cumin spice a lot. Almost all of the meals were ready-made takeaway and fried food. For the main course there were two plates for 7 people and there were 5 meatballs and falafel in them, they were uneaten because of the cumin. Feels like chef didnt change the oil long time. Only 3 35cl raki and tap water were given to our table for 7 people. There was no Salgam or tea or coffee service. Paid £80 per person for the set menu and we were given turkish mezes and then they gave us a terrible stuffed meatball. They said there were 3 main courses in the set menu, but dessert was not provided, we asked for it and they said no. We paid close to £500 for 7 people and it was not worth it at all. There was no choice of set menu only what was brought to the table and this was small in portion and poor in quality and taste. There wasn't even any entertainment just a generic Turkish Spotify play list. If you want to have a celebration on Saturday evening, I definitely do not recommend this place.

The most rudest staff I have ever encountered in my life basically shoved us out the door. Food was mediocre at best

Still waiting to hear back after having an allergic reaction to walnuts in a tuna melt which was not properly labeled on the website menu (and still isn’t). If you eat here, look out for hidden allergens. Said they’d call me and never did. Emailed and have heard nothing back.

Not a bad place but not a fan of the chicken wrap, i expect more chicken in the wrap, i came a bit late so brought this dont know about the rest of the menu as much.

Lovely vegetarian food! The bruschetta was beautiful, and the aubergine dish was fabulous!

You could ask for a friendlier local restaurant. Food was spot on and I really enjoyed the mixed grill. Recommendations of Turkish beer and wine were both excellent. Vegetarians are well looked after as well - my sister was delighted. And we rounds off the evening with a great gig by Tge Sweet at the Assembly Hall across the road.

I live in the area and this is one of my go to places. The menu does have a lot of options but everything I have tried has been delicious. The service is amazing, the staff is nice and accommodating. The atmosphere and decor is unique and cosy. I have invited friends to eat here and always leave happy. If you are in the area please try this place!

Restaurant was welcoming and service was great. All made to feel part of the ‘family’. Food was well presented and tasted great. Will definitely being going back!

Was really pleasantly surprised by the food! We went on a Thursday evening and to be fair while I’ve marked the service down, there was only one person serving tables and one person on bar so they did the best they could. Looking at the menu wasn’t overly excited but we got the chicken souvlaki and aubergine and loved it. Would definitely return as prices are pretty good for Upper Street too

Lovely as always but food was not as great as we have experienced there. And a few minutes delay between my entrées and that of my guest leaves an awkward gap with my dinner getting cold as we wait to start together

Enjoyed a delicious vegetarian breakfast here the other day. Don't like mushrooms so was allowed to substitute with avocado. I just wish there was another egg! But it was still good value for money anyway, and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. Best hashbrowns ever! FYI to fellow veggies: the sausage is falafel-esque. I will know for next time to ask for an extra egg ;) Nice vibe in the restaurant and the staff were laid-back but very friendly. Toilets were a bit untidy. All in all, I would definitely return for another breakfast/brunch if in the area.

There was a piece of meat in my salad. When I asked how this could have happened, they couldn't answer. I asked if the kitchen used separate chopping boards for veg, fish and meat, the waiter didn't know. Not sure I would trust their kitchen hygiene. They offered a discount as compensation, which didn't cover the cost of the dish.

Small and low key setting, good service and great value for money

Overall, a really nice little cafe. The menu had so much choice. Coffee was quite nice and there were dairy-free alternative milks on offer (at a cost). The staff were friendly and the service was fast. I had poached eggs and bacon on toast. When it arrived, I had to ask for butter to put on the toast as it was un-buttered sourdough topped with poached eggs and bacon. Once I had loaded this on however, it was nice enough. Nothing to write home about, not not a bad place. Nice decor and a great spot.

Superb food, very good service. And they are always helpful with altering food to accommodate for my food intolerance (not allergy). Overall, always a good experience

This has been our (now extended) family (7 soon to be 8 plus nervous rescue galgo) brunch choice for many years now. Staff are always friendly. The portions are generous and the food always fresh and flavoursome. ‘Full English’ for some and Shakshuka or Mediterranean breakfast for others plus children’s menu and patience with fussy little eaters 😊. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We visited Blue Lagume for a birthday dinner with my friends. There were about 15 of us dining. The service was prompt, and Umut, the person taking care of our table, was very attentive and displayed a high level of professionalism. The dishes were beautifully presented. I opted for the mixed meze platter and kofte, although as a chef, I can't say I was entirely satisfied with the koftr as it was a bit dry. However, the tahini sauce served alongside was delightful. I would like to highlight the excellent service provided by Umut. Especially noteworthy was his attentive care throughout our meal. Overall, the experience was positive.

Very welcoming, good value, a cut above equivalent restaurants

Went there for a celebration on Friday 5 o’clock. The atmosphere was quite dead but is not really the fault of the place. Food is very average, I had a burger, which was really dry, patty was really thin and no seasoning. The no seasoning was the theme of the night, we were 7 and all of our food was unseasoned, risotto really bland, fish really dry …. You might want to take your celebrations somewhere else :)

Brunch is very good. Quite generous portions and very good value for money. Extensive menu with brunch but tons of other things as well. Nice environment, super casual.

We went to the blue legume for lunch had a yummy shakshuka, the restaurant was very quiet but great food and service.

We have lunch here I had a kofte wrap and my daughter had pasta. Food arrived quickly and was delicious, was £20 including drinks and service. They're always great with my daughter. Real family friendly place.

The food was very good, but the server generally left us alone, only coming when he was summoned. A good experience nonetheless.

Nous avons passé une soirée Nevizade au légume night. Nous étions 6. Au total il fallait compter 12 personnes présentes pour cette soirée à thème. Nous avons réglé 100€ par personne. Concernant les plats nous avions des mezzés, et quelques plats chauds. Il y avait de la musique en live, les chanteurs étaient extraordinaires! Ils ont bien animé la soirée. Après avoir reçu les mezzés et avant les plats chauds, la serveuse nous a demandé de réglé l’addition. Très étonnées, nous avons demandé la raison. Elle nous a expliqué que durant les soirées nevizade, ils encaissent après les mezzés car quand il a trop de monde ils n’arrivent pas à encaisser toutes les personnes présentes. Pour rappel, seules 12 personnes étaient présentes. Les musiciens ont finis de chanter à 23:00. Nous avons demandé un thé, la serveuse nous a indiqué que la machine était éteinte. C’est inadmissible de recevoir des clients de cette manière surtout au prix que nous avons payé. Après ce refus nous avons quitté les lieux, très déçu pour le rapport qualité prix.

The food was delicious, really good portion sizes too. The service was perfect, not intrusive at all; we felt able to relax and dine at our own pace.

I’ll definitely be back as there is so much on the menu that I’d love to try! The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are good. The decor is lovely, and the staff were knowledgeable and accommodating for all of our questions and dietary needs. My only reservation is that it seems to take them a while to come over to the table. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I look forward to returning.

Nice place, efficient staff, all day breakfast are great, coffee was good atmosphere was pleasantly buzzing. Good choice for the grand kids. Not silly pricing.

I tried the pancakes and can vouch for their taste! Their scrambled eggs side was £2.5 and the portion was big. I'll be back to try out more of their menu when I'm next in the area.

Lovely restaurant - first time going there. We were the only diners but the staff were charming and attentive. The food is very good - the grilled lamb was as good as I have ever had. Great evening.

The staff are the worst, no customer service skills whatsoever. Food is NEVER on time! The place is a shambles. Their excuse is that ‘it’s busy’ and that orders will arrive ‘soon’ like seriously. What kind of establishment is this. I look forward to ordering from dominos in the future.

Lovely family run restaurant, good food at a decent price which is a rarity on Upper Street

We enjoyed the usual nice service at tasty food at Pera. This time we sahred the fish/seafood version of the set menu. Excellent value but maybe not as interesting as the meat one. A good choice in the area.

As always, I had a lovely evening at Pera. The service was excellent - the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was delicious (especially the starters!) and came quickly. Would highly recommend Pera for great value, tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere.

This is always our choice, if we're going to a gig nearby. The food is good, and staff are welcoming. On this occasion, something had gone wrong, though. Communication seemed poor, it was tricky to get served, to get the order right, and to pay. It seemed at though someone was constantly on the phone/at the till, taking orders. Is Deliveroo spoiling restaurant experiences?!

Worse custommer service specially the manager he is very rude doesnt know anything about custommer service i complaint about the order coz the pizza tasted burnt he got agressive and started making up things anyways if you dont eat how would know the taste of the pizza he sent the driver to pickup pizzas which i gave him back after 5mins manager called me back he is not gonna refund me money coz i have eaten slices i order 2 large pizzas and a side for 4 people and we were starving when we order pizza soo everybody took 1 piece and all of them said same the pizza tastes burnt soo whatever was left over we have only eaten 4 slices from pizza as we were 4 people i am really disappointed with the custommer service and the taste of the pizza please avoid order from.islington pizzaHut they are very rude and even if you do order pizza the taste is worst i lost my £20 makesure dont lose your one!!!!!

After one hr Pizza Hut called say due to traffic not delivering to my address I ask refund over 20£ refused said complain head office says his name FR!! We hadn't tried a pizza from here for ages as the last one took forever and was cold, but this time it came still hot (no re-heating required) and was delicious. Also a nice Ben and Jerry's which was still very cold. See a lot of bad reviews here for this branch but this one was perfectly good - and a Pizza Hut pizza when it is good is delicious.

If you apply principle of you get what you pay for, you'd be way off the mark here. Inexpensive pricing belies authentic, delicious Turkish food served by the friendly family of this easy casual restaurant.

Our waitress did not understand what Gluten free meant in relation to the menu and as one of our party has celiac disease this was a little disturbing. The food was good and well presented but our six meals did not all come out together my husband’s was about 5 minutes behind the rest of the table.

Another great meal. The pre-theatre set menu is excellent value and includes some very good choices. Service is efficient. I had houmous topped with lamb and the adana kebab and both were really good. My daughter had the courgette fritters which she loved.

Went in a group before Christmas. The staff were lovely and food was good and reasonably priced and so was the wine. Ideal for a low cost group night out.. My only gripe was the awful Christmas music on a loop but I suppose it was Christmas. It seemed a bit out of place in a Turkish too.

Celebrating GCSE results, lovely food and great service. Only downside was they had another large group who were extremely loud!!, so loud in fact my nephew (who was the one we were celebrating) had to leave the restaurant early due to a headache.

Absolutely amazing restaurant, despite us probably making it difficult for the waitress to understand our orders (we’d had a lot of wine beforehand!) they got every single thing right, the food was fantastic, the portions astronomical, the price simply brilliant. I’m pretty sure we stayed a lot later than the restaurant closes but they simply let us enjoy ourselves. Everyone said it was the best experience they’d had in a long time and we will all be returning! Can’t wait

Friendly, attentive staff who were good enough to put up a birthday banner and balloons, as I'd ticked the special occassion box when I booked through Open Table. Such a lovely gesture that was very much appreciated. Food tasty and good sized portions, though a few more imaginative vegetarian options would be welcomed. We ate early, so relatively quite, which was good for my elderly parents. They both really enjoyed it.

Ordered got email saying in the kitchen 2 hours later come cold not even a Pizza Hut delivery man call up but phone was off the hook so it went in the bin

The staff were very charming and made us feel very welcome despite when we arrived at 22:00 hrs and there were only two other customers already in the restaurant. Although I am sure the staff would have rather gone home they mad3 our evening very special, a catch up with our son and his partner. The food was very good and value for money, we also enjoyed the bottled beer, Efes I believe it was called. A lovely meal and would certainly recommend.

Pera is a pleasant Turkish restaurant with a good standard of Mediterranean food. The staff were friendly and helpful and food came promptly. We would use it again.

Definitely one of the best of the many Turkish restaurants on Upper Street, and well worth walking the extra few metres up Upper Street if you're going to the theatre at the Almeida or the King's Head. They start with a good Turkish breakfast menus and run right through to late dinners. The food is always reliably good, service comes with a smile and is efficient, and the wine list is very reasonably priced (I recommend the Cote du Rhone if you're having a red).

Ordered Pizza at 8.30 and the pizza never came. They now are no longer answering the phone, after telling me the driver had left and was only 5 minutes away... The service here is completely unacceptable.

Food was nice enough, service was a bit slow. I had booked for a special occasion, mentioned it on the booking but no reference was made to my husband’s birthday. I took my daughter who is a vegetarian, they had an excellent choice of veggie meals. The baklava were very tasty. Don’t dress up for this restaurant, go casual. Despite being a Saturday night , we needn’t have booked, it was suprisingly quiet.

The staff are extremely friendly and polite and the food is well cooked and very tasty. If you like Turkish food, you should definitely pop by for a bite!
