Pizza Express in Islington

This was the first time I tried this pizza chain and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was SO good and so was the service. Be warned though, it’s not the prettiest looking joint. When we arrived there was rubbish on the floor.

I love Pizza Express but was really disappointed today. Despite not being busy at all, it took quite long for the order to be taken and too long to get the food. The calamari did look and tasted like microwaved. Pizza was OK but would expect something better for the price we paid.

This company is not serious. I came to pick up my order and they say I have to cancel it because I have to wait 20 minutes. After 20 minutes they said I had to wait another 20 minutes. The waiter isn't even willing to listen to me. Complete lack of respect for suppliers.

We were seated and served before another table, they had starters and mains before we got food. The staff were focused on the takeaways more then the people sitting in. We had to leave having no food and waiting for 50 mins. Terrible, spoilt our day. There is no point in booking a table like we did.

London for the weekend and son fancied PizzaExpress (as usual!) I didn't complain! Was happy to find the Islington branch where we received a warm welcome, food was great, lovely interaction from the team. Made even better by my Gold status on their App, had a great deal! Will be sure to visit again when next in London

We arrived at around 1pm and we were seated promptly. Our waitress enquired about allergens and was very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending the appropriate food - my girlfriend is gluten intolerant. The atmosphere was great. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious.

We went for pizza to this PizzaExpress branch, and boy was it good! Great music, amazing food and very friendly staff, who made our little boy feel so special. We had two Romana Duo,which allowed us to have a taste of 4 different pizzas. Pollo Fiesta was my absolute favourite- full of flavour, crispy thin crust, plenty of toppings. Piccolo menu was exceptional value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Family of five, popped in on the way to a show . Seated quickly, great food and our server, Emanuel, was very attentive, courteous and good sense of humour.

Reliable staple where the service always puts to shame restaurants 5x more expensive. I've been going on and off for 20 years, so it's not the same waiting staff, which is a testament to Pizza Express's training and management. Their still happy to make me a Napoletana, even though it hasn't been on the menu for a decade. Pro tip: tip in cash so the staff get it directly.

Oreder a pizza today and this is what I was sent when I called back the woman was rude as usual with these staff this was meant to be a sloppy giuseppe plus was cold lol

Me and my family walked into the restaurant and asked to be seated. We kindly asked the staff to allow us to feed our boy chicken nuggets which we had bought from across the street while we order and eat. Both the staff and the subsequent manager who showed up were very rude. Very badly trained and the manager is a rude woman who needs to learn how to talk to people. Terrible place. You need new staff before you lose all your customers. Merry Christmas.

You need to train your staff in how show some respect to people around, especially riders. I've witnessed a horrible scene this afternoon as the waitress(who's from West Africa) was despising one of the delivery riders, treating him as a slave which is really unprofessional and disgusting Shame on you. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent family dinner on Friday Evening (1st December). Staff were so friendly and helpful. Will be back when next in Islington

I’ve also had 2 of my daughter’s birthday parties here The service has always been excellent I’ve never had to complain and they always go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel welcome. Everything is good but the only BAD thing is that one kids pizza takes 40mins to make I had to wait so long for my kids pizza recommend but be ready for taking long so come early

Had a morning Kids party for my 8 year old daughter today, Emanuel and Patricia were amazing…showing the kids how to make their own pizzas with great humour - and patience - before the kids then ate their own pizzas very happily. Its a great idea to do kids birthdays there and couldn’t recommend the experience and team more.

Me and my wife were there for a dinner last night but it looks like the last dine out in pizza express. First, I have ordered two pizzas in one the most expensive from pizza menus and my wife polo, one side chicken and one side mushroom but there was couple mushroom and couple chicken in there almost I would say cheese and tomatoes and it was pricy. It wasn’t busy but they took too long to give us a table, too long to take the order and too long to arrive the order. After all, the test of the pizza was good. Me and my wife were far from being happy. I am giving these comments because I want pizza express to exist in high street.

We had a table of 12 people for a relaxing post-work meal and the service was outstanding - our waiter, Emanuel, was friendly, attentive and helpful, and even arranged a little birthday cake for two of our party without any problems. The food was excellent, fresh and hot and we were very well looked-after. Thank you!

Hi I would like to say a big thank you to Emanuel for waiting for us we were a table of 19 people including 12 children . He did he’s very best as he was the only waiter waiting . He had no help and the restraunt strted to get busy and he managed it all by himself . We also booked online and when we got there there was no booking and the lady looked stressed out and made us feel abit uncomfortable this also has happend a few times before . However Emanuel has served us a few times and has always made us feel welcome .

We always enjoy visiting PizzaExpress and Bouthaina looked after us with a smile and speedy service.

Great pizza express. Some better than others, this is the best one I’ve been to!

The Islington branch of Pizza Express is very good indeed. The food is always delightfully fresh and beautifully presented, and the service is discreet and efficient. I eat here every time I visit the theatre nearby (which is often) and I am slowly working my way through the extensive menu. This place has the best garlic-infused oil! Highly recommended ✨✨

Unfortunately, a pretty awful service, slow not attentive as they seem to be busy. Making mistakes; quite a disappointing experience.

I've been coming to this branch for about four years now (on and off) and the servers that have been there consistently have always been absolute delights, especially Emad, Connie, and Selam just to name a few of the excellent wait staff. I look forward to chatting with them as much as I look forward to eating the food, which is always delicious. The range and choice of vegan options they offer is also brilliant.

Pela forma grossa que o homem nos tratou decidimos nem ficar, fomos embora. As garçonetes até pediram desculpa. Pizza express escolha melhor seu hostess. Decidimos atravessar a rua, e comemos em um pizzaria deliciosa e fomos super bem atendidos.

A very bad example of a Pizza Express branch. Pales in comparison to the Chelsea Branch. The staff leaves you standing there like a Muppet at the door for 2-3 minutes till they walk you to one of the 10 tables that was clearly free. Halloumi bites were essentially 1x normal slice of normal Halloumi, breaded and deep fried till it doesn't even resemble the original Halloumi. We ordered dough balls a popular favourite and wanted to try something new, albeit the waitress gave no information to describe the flavour and sure enough it was the wrong choice we tried the new honey chilli flavour and it was awful. Our original order was made 46 minutes earlier and customers that came after us were served before us. When I asked for our halloumi bites and pizza at the 30 minute mark, she scrambled to the kitchen totally realising she didn't put the order through and ensued a mini argument in front of customers in the tone of the oven staff mocking the waitress. Their team leader was watching and clearly pressed them to get the food out quickly as they had their main focus on the pizzas for delivery and not sitting right in front of them. Because of this drama the Cheese and Mushroom pizza I ordered was stretched so thin and mushroom sliced so thin that it came out drier than the toast I had in the morning. All moisture from the tomato base had evaporated. Literally like eating a crunchy tortilla left in the oven for too long. I understand service can be busy but there was no communication, no smiles, no hospitality or customer service, food was rushed and didn't meet the expectations of any frequent Pizza Express customer. Recommendations: 1. Get the manager to shadow other managers from successful branches 2. Retrain staff and separate them into different branches so they don't cause internal problems, but most importantly focus on excellent food and customer service!

Had a enjoyable casual dinner with friends and their kids at Pizza Express in Angel. The service was good, we were not rushed and the food was good. Some of their pizzas were a little spicy, however it was more the kids complaining than anything. I arrived late so didn't ask if they had a kids menu. Overall a enjoyable time.

Great service, big group and he managed everybody well. Big shout out to Emad he deserves some recognition!

Today we had a work dinner at pizza express Islington. We were served by SELAM! She was honestly the best waitress ever. She was so attentive, efficient! I really recommend this branch … food was cooked well and brought out quickly considering there was 25 of us. Thank you Selam!

After we sat down we what ignored by every single waiter and waitress then after about 40 minutes they finally took our order. I have no idea why they did this. We waited patiently for someone to seat us me and my friend are too black girls and I, myself wear a hijab. I felt discriminated against and incredibly hurt by this experience.

Impeccable food, lovely experience

Comfortable ambiance, background music at non intrusive low level. Pizzas and all other food are super. Staff really nice and engaging. Only downside is some parents with crying babies and/or small children behave noisely as if they were in their own home.

Smaller than I thought inside but a nice pizza place. I had a garlic bread with Mozzarella cheese which was a bit doughy , but garlic & herb wings were tasty and well cooked. £3.45 for a small glass bottle of coke was very expensive, not only there but most restaurants. 😟 would go again. Lovely waitress.

We had 2 adults and 4 teenagers (13y/o's) for a birthday. Our waitress was the absolute best!! Drinks came on time, and the food was delivered hot and given to the correct people. We had changes in our order and additions, everything was correct and handled with a smile on her face. She made going to that Pizza Express one of the best decisions of that day. Highly recommended!!!
