Pizza Express in Islington

This is my local branch and the lovely staff team always go out of their way to make me feel at home. So thank you to : Ela, Emad and newcomer Emnet. My friend and I shared a bottle of Chardonnay, a large bottle of sparkling water, a soft drink,2 fiorentina pizzas and a dolcetti. We got the water, soft drink and dolcetti free as I am a gold member on their app. Great service and tasty food.

The pastas here are incredible. I strongly suggest the pollo pesto as it doesn’t disappoint! They also offer student discount and NHS discount too :)

The pizza was ok. The cheese had solidified, and you could tell It had been sitting for a bit, but kept warm. This wasn't really a problem and the waiter was very apologetic for the wait. My issue on this occasion was that I asked for medium glasses of wine, and they served us large 250ml glasses by the waitress. I only realised when I saw the bill. When I brought this up to the waitress she said they don't do medium sizes - despite this being legally 175ml. I also said I had specified 175ml to her when I first ordered my wine. No apology or offer to reduce the bill. They don't have a 125ml option on the menu, yet they have to offer this by law. 125ml (small) 175ml (medium) 250ml (large) - these are standard legal measures in the UK.

I usually don't complain and Pizza express is always great at the Restaurant. This Calzone was obviously pre frozen. when It was delivered and I ate it it was Just Sub frozen. Cold. Not luke warm..COLD.

Great pizza Express really lovely staff and it was super busy on a Thursday night. I got some vouchers to use so it was only £10 for a pizza and a coke great bargain and yummy pizza as always.

Went for family meal it was good apart from my son finding two small hairs on his pizza issue raised and was offered a small pizza, which was fine apart from the comment of the manager who said “I made that pizza and as you can see I have not got long hair, the hairs were not long, so it really felt like he was blaming us for the hairs offer not accepted and the area on the pizza cut off and binned, the floor staff were very nice, not sure if I will return my ratings apply for the manager

Had a gluten-free pizza, but I didn't like it. It was thin and crispy, and I found it difficult to digest. My girlfriend took a normal pizza, same story. However, staff was very attentive to allergens and my gluten problem.

Very nice little Pizza Express on upper street. My girlfriend and I were on a day out in London. We're students, so we're a little tight on cash, and had been saving up gift cards for a while so we could have a proper meal without spending a lot. Food was lovely, very nicely cooked and quick to serve. They unfortunately got my girlfriend's order wrong the first time round but sorted it within 10-15 minutes. I keep it at 5 stars because the waitress (I unfortunately didn't catch her name, was working on the 02/01/2025) was lovely (very smiley and checked up on us often) and the Headwaiter (called Anthem) insisted we have dessert on the house. We had 2 lovely chocolate fudge cakes free of charge. We were extremely happy with the experience, and I meant to add a tip but Anthem declined the tip before I had a chance to put one on, bless him. All in all, lovely staff, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go again. Definitely made our day. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely experience.

Emad’s service is vey good, always smiling, always pays attention to every detail, very kind. He is pleasant to talk to and helpful with the order and bill. We have been served by him many times and every time it’s a joy to be served by him! Best server from the whole team.

Food arrived 1hr 20 mins after ordering, freezing cold and items missing.

Pizza wasn’t great at all. It seemed like it was two pizza stuck on top of each other. Every time I took a slice the dough would peel off. That’s a first in pizza eating for me. Ordered the American double and it wasn’t double cheese or pepperoni at all. Chicken wings, asked for spicy ones got the lemon, very forgetful. Prefer twice here and just disappointed on a £20 bill. Sorry guys.

I visited Pizza Express Angel on Thursday evening with a group of colleagues, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, we waited well over an hour for our food, which was extremely frustrating. We had specifically requested that our starters and mains be served together, as we had all ordered salads to accompany our mains. However, this request was not honored, and our meals were served at separate times. This mishandling of a straightforward request significantly detracted from the experience. This is not the first time I’ve experienced extremely slow service at this brand, which is why I’ve decided to write this review. It’s incredibly disappointing that such issues seem to be recurring. The only positive from the evening was our waiter, Emad, who was exceptionally professional, attentive, and apologetic throughout. His efforts were appreciated and were the saving grace of an otherwise frustrating visit. I’ve always enjoyed Pizza Express in the past, but this visit fell well below expectations. Unfortunately, I can’t see myself recommending this branch based on this experience.

One pizza, Funghi di Bosco, was missing filling over 1/3 of surface

I have ordered more times pizza and many times came in not proper conditions but we understand that sometimes this could happen ( cheese spread in the. box, cold, a bit burned....) and although this happened we still continue order other times and other times happen the same and today i received a completely different dish of pasta.it is a shame because i like the food from here a lot. pizza is nice but I think food for delivery needs to be improve a bit more as I love to eat pizza from here.

We walked in and were totally ignored by the staff, one was taking orders and 2 were just chatting at the counter, however, when we were eventually greeted the girl was so rude and the way she was looking me and my partner up and down was very uncomfortable, she throw the menus at the table before we even sat. Once we sat she started moving the chairs violently and stormed off. Then she was whispering to the other girl and looking at us making us even more uncomfortable. To that point my husband went over and said do you have a problem? Because you have been very rude and we can clearly see you are talking about us, what the problem? The girl in question was just staring and the other one said no no problem. There was never an apology. I do believe we were treated like this as I was wearing a headscarf. This is absolutely shocking behaviour from staff members at a company like this. We walked off and went to Pizza Express in Clerkenwell, the staff were absolutely amazing, great service and excellent food. A formal complaint has been submitted.

I was cycling home, I had such a long ride ahead of me, I stopped by and asked if I could have some water, the manager or somebody asked 'what sort of a question is that?' and gladly refilled my water bottle and asked if I was hungry, I declined explaining I have food with me, just needed water. Who ever this person was, was so kind and willing to help a passing stranger. Thank you for your kindness and quick polite conversation about how our day had been going and showing each other respect. - I'll pass on the kindness and service 10 fold.

The food was tasty, the thin pizza is very thin and light, the cannelloni was very small and swung in sauces but was tasty as well. There were flies, flying around our food all the time. Very uncomfortable and we felt a bit disgusted. Not coming back for that reason.

Ordered thin and crispy, just got thin. Staff very good. But a cup of tea for £3.45 with a cup of hot water on the side is not good enough. Someone needs to tell them that tea should be infused at the point of which the water reaches boiling point. I will not be going back.

The wrong pizza was sent to us, we ordered a margarita but were given a garlic prawn pizza. (I am very allergic to prawns) The restaurant offered a new margarita pizza for us but we couldn't collect it due to my friend & I having mobility impacting disabilities & no car. They tried to contact just eat to arrange a new delivery driver but there was no answer. They then wanted me to buy a whole new pizza despite me not being refunded yet. I haven't heard from just eat & this happened on Sunday!

My favourite pizza restaurant. Although I always eat pizza from authentic Italian restaurants, pizza express is still a great option, especially when you have children. The kids menu is loved by most children. The service quality is not far from a fine dining restaurant. Food is delicious, well priced and served fast.

Estaba tan equivocada. Fue una experiencia absolutamente fantástica. La comida era deliciosa, pero el servicio es lo que lo hizo verdaderamente excepcional. Fuimos con el hijo de mi amigo (4) mi hija (2) y mi hijo (6 meses) y no podían ser más serviciales, serviciales, comprensivos, agradables y en general maravillosos. Mi hija también tiene algunas alergias con las que fueron brillantes. El hijo de mi amiga tuvo un babyccino, y sin preguntar le trajeron uno de leche de avena a mi hija para que no se sintiera excluida. Estaban más que pensativos. Me dejaron tener mi cochecito en un lugar inconveniente porque era útil para mi bebé. Sinceramente, me sorprendió lo encantadoras que eran. Gracias al equipo y al personal que nos atendió. Mi hija realmente pidió volver tan pronto como salimos. Así que volveremos aunque solo sea por el maravilloso personal.

Late-Night Craving Fulfilled: Pizza Express Islington's Exceptional Service 🌟 Finding a restaurant that caters to specific dietary requirements can be a challenge. My husband cannot eat food that contains onion or garlic, while I do. Pizza Express at Islington not only met our needs but exceeded them, all this at 9:56 pm on a Sunday night when most restaurants are closing! Returning from a social event, we were craving something snacky to take away for our hour-and-a-half journey home. We were thrilled to see Pizza Express open. Despite the fact that the kitchen staff was clearly wrapping up for the night, the manager, Anthem, stepped in to save the day, graciously accepting our request for dough balls to go. Anthem ensured our order met our dietary requirements and packed us a generous serving of dips, knowing we had a long drive ahead. The warm, delicious dough balls made our trip delightful. Each bite was a testament to the exceptional service and kindness at Pizza Express Islington.😇 Although we have a local Pizza Express, the Islington branch has won us over with their warm, welcoming service.
