Americano very strong for my taste..surface to lip of mug 1 inch even with milk added. Staff very friendly. Will no doubt use again.

It's clear that love and thought goes in to everything at The Hot Sausage Company, from the friendly service and vegan option (which I understand was painstakingly sourced to ensure only the best was served!) to the wide range of condiments and reasonable prices. If you're ever in town in Cambridge, Colchester or Ipswich, make it your top priority to visit for a bite to eat.

The breakfast was nice but the portion of beans were really dry, I think I counted about 30 beans 😂 my girlfriends jacket potato was cooked well but the cheese was pretty much none existent and the beans were the same as mine, very old and dry

Went on a Sunday as they had an offer on which consisted of a 2 course meal and a bottle of wine for £50:00. Having informed the waiter of our choices he informed us that the offer only included the Sunday Roast as the main meal so we changed to that. However, the offer was supposed to include all other items, bar a couple of exclusions. Rightly or wrongly, we chose not to make a fuss. Sadly, we both found the roasts rather under-whelming with most of the plate occupied by a very oversized Yorkshire pudding. Plus, having told there'd be at least a 30 minute wait we went for a cigarette only to then be told 5 minutes later our meals were already on our table. Not really ideal. At this point I must say, despite the above, our waiter was both very professional and very polite. A credit to the pub.

Since the recent revamp of the pub, & terrace I have visited the venue on over seven, different occasions to find the food excellent, & the staff so kind, & helpful.

Chips were so salty could not eat and luke warm, shame could not taste the burger only thing could taste was the amount of burger sauce, pizza was burnt and cold, asked for donner meat but nothing on pizza. Very poor meal

What can I say “fabulous food” “fabulous service”. We popped in an advanced large order for a family gathering and Michael’s were amazing - collection ready for the time we asked - and quality of food top notch ! definitely a 5 star review from us

The chap that delivered the food was brilliant! I wish I had cash in had for a tip! He brought the food to the house and gave an excellent joke! Thank you so much :)

Bit of a wait as busy time but normal Costa experience

… now I have I won’t bother again. A typical ‘new build’ pub of the 70/80’s lacking any soul. Food was decent and not expensive and piping hot, not surprising as it had obviously been nuked but the reassuring ‘TING’ from the kitchen told us it was on its way in record time Service was good and I expect local families will enjoy it here - that’s about the best thing I can say

Attended lunch time August Bank Holiday, picked up a takeaway Food was very tasty and freshly made so piping hot, staff were very friendly and helpful very impressed

We have been here before and had decent food on journeys but this time was dreadful. I had a fish finger wrap (not exactly difficult to prepare). The tiny bit of side salad was stale and limp - literally inedible). The wrap was soggy and the fish in the fish fingers was grey and chewy. I took it back as I felt it would make me ill if I ate it and they did refund the money but I felt I had to say something here to remind them to up their standards. Inexpensive food doesn't and shouldn't mean inedible and revolting!
