The best restaurants serving Default food in Wigston St Wolstan's Oadby and Wigston East Midlands

Many thanks to the Star and Garter staff who looked after us yesterday. The staff were polite and helpful , they provided an excellent buffet, that was good value for money , thank you.

I’ve been eating here for years and they’re consistently good. Nice decor and they always smile and make eye contact. Not bargain-basement prices, but you get what you pay for. Really good coffee as well, plus good-looking cakes if you’ve got room!

Average food , small portions, pleasant initial waitress , rude and unapologetic waitress/owner who addressed the unacceptable wait times. Our experience echoes that in previous reviews about rude service and long wait times in not a hugely busy restaurant. We won't be returning.

Easy to order and always have collection deals too. Great food!

Had always walked by this place to go for breakfast in the wetherspoons opposite, went in for breakfast and I will never walk by this place again. Lovely little cafe, mega breakfast was exactly that, mega, great value for money and absolutely delicious. Very clean, lovely decor, very friendly and polite staff, loved it

My daughter & I went to the Wigston Cheesecake shop on 8th February 2021 approximately 11.30 am. We saw a cheescake we liked in the open fridge cabinet and tried to find someone to help us. My daughter saw the young female assistant doing something behind the counter and after a waiting for her we had to get her attention and ask if we could have the cheesecake we chose. She took it to the back & after a while returned to start writing on her clipboard and she totally ignored us. I asked her what happened to our cheesecake and she said that it was out of date and should not have been on display in the first place and continued writing on her clipboard. We received no apology and she didn't seem to care about us. We walked out in disbelief at the terrible service. We then went to Gregg's instead across the road and got some delicious doughnuts and the lady was so friendly and gave the best service with a smile. The cheesecake shop should learn from Gregg's what service with a smile means. WELL DONE GREGG'S & THANKS FOR YOUR EXCELLENT SERVICE! Will never visit the Cheesecake Shop again!

plato Sizzler Tandoori es fabuloso, encantador finas y suaves naan panes. La gran variedad de comida en el menú y los precios son razonables. Los chefs solía trabajar en nuevo hostal de carretera que siempre nos gustó de todos modos. Pub es agradable, temas especiales del botón de nada. bien si vas como parte de un grupo, no realmente el ambiente para una escapada romántica.

Don't waste your money food is awful. Complained to the waiter who just laughed.

Visited on the 2nd May. I am a Londoner and was exploring Leicester. Amazing service; especially from one gentleman, who recommended me and my dad which pizza to get! Make sure he gets the recognition he deserves:)

I went in the other day, they cook all the fish, burgers meat and veg in the same oil - there attitude was if people don’t ask, we don’t tell them - absolutely disgusting, if veggies stay away or if you only eat fish !

Lovely food ! There’s no shortage of Chinese takeaways around this area but in my mind this is the stand out ! 5/5

It's Wetherspoons food cheap and cheerful

Our group has eaten at this restaurant a few times this year when it was named Marmaris and also when it was supposedly under new management and had enjoyable experiences. This occasion was different, service was slow, staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing and were poorly supervised! After ordering, our Mains arrive. Well actually not all of them, one was MISSING!! This eventually turned up 10-15 minutes later and the communication from staff during that time was abysmal. The other diners didn’t know whether to start their meals or not. Member of our party was doing all the chasing. No real apology when meal did arrive. This spoilt our evening! Have subsequently contacted Management via Messenger and they are blaming new staff giving the meal to another table but again no APOLOGY. Sorry either you supervise new staff correctly or you take responsibility for their mistakes which the restaurant has so far FAILED to do!!

I went in here for some late night fishies and the chippings and when I went inside there on the floor was the remains of someones blood from a wigston punch up in the chip shopIt was not a sight a woman should see who only went in the place because she was hungryI decided against ordering seeing the state of the place and decided to raid the cupboards at home instead for something to eat as you do as a plan bI do not think I will go in here again and will choose a cleaner chip shop instead and I definitely wouldn't go in here late at night on a Friday or saturday
