Our first visit for a meal and drink, wetherspoons pubs always have nice decor, warm and spacious, the food and service was great and prices always good.

Le dije a un miembro del personal que no había tocino en mi plato que era parte de mi pedido, La señora se negó a corregir la orden acusándome de comer el tocino y mentir sobre él, y luego simplemente se fue. Después de preguntar por el pesebre y luego que me dijeran que ella era el pesebre que sabía que no era, entonces me dijeron que el pesebre no estaba. Eventualmente el tocino vino a la mesa con una fuerte advertencia, que NO SOMOS BIENVENIDOS EN EL PUB de nuevo. Este servicio no es accesible y ni siquiera recibimos una disculpa. Impactante

SHOCKING SERVICE, I was taking my lad out for breakfast on his 16th birthday, and we ordered breakfast. i told a member of staff there was no bacon on my plate which was part of my order, The Lady refused to correct the order accusing me of eating the bacon and lying about it, And then just walked of. After asking for the manger and then to be told she was the manger which I knew she wasnt, I was then told the manger was not in. Eventually bacon came to the table with a strong warning, THAT WE ARE NOT WELCOME IN THE PUB again. This service is not accepable and we we didn't even receive an apology. Shocking

Very dingy and tables dirty. Washed ours down with wet wipes and they were dark brown when we had finished.

You don't come to expect much from a wetherspoons pub but to be treated the way me and my guests was was unbelievable, all because one of them didn't have any ID on him a member of staff in a very arrogant manner told him he wasn't allowed to have his drink and I wouldn't be getting a refund because of one of many policies they have I was then accused of being confrontational because I challenged it it was only after I pointed out how crap the customer service is that they agreed to swap it for a soft drink then went on to say he had to leave at 9pm and if his food wasn't ready he wouldn't be allowed to eat in there and would have to take it away , but just wow what a bunch he's got running that pub especially the female manager they all need some serious training in customer service I can't give any names as it's another policy not to give staff names when you want to complain and when you do complain it's just refered back to thr person you're complaining about complete joke of a place

Its a spoons. Modest ale selection (about 6) three of which were local, others mostly greene king. Well served and (most importantly for a spoons) easy to get served

This pub needs an upgrade. It's to old fashioned. Staff were slow to serve customers.

Went into the Billy Wygston on a Friday afternoon for a fish and chip lunch with the family. The place was jammed, packed to the rafters and we took the last seat in the house. Two chippy teas and a chicken strips meal duly arrived in reasonable time. The chips were a touch stodgy and almost hot. A valiant effort though. The meals were OK and we ate them while downing a sift drink or two. The pub was very busy indeed. Tables were being cleaned and cleared sporadically at best. All in all, it was an acceptable meal, and we had few complaints. We said farewell to the place giving it a solid six out of ten.

Nice enough pub as Wetherspoons go. Can get very busy but staff are friendly and service is normally quite quick. Food is good value for the price.

Absolutely appalling. Waited over an hour for breakfast, arrived stone cold, sent back came back out just the same!! Never again

My wife and I had just flown back into the country, and as we had absolutely no food in the house we decided to have dinner at this establishment with two of our friends. This our local ‘Spoons and we have dined here on many occasions, and normally I’m quite complimentary about the whole experience, but not this time. The pub was quite packed, but we found a seat and ordered on the app. The girls both had a chicken korma with additional onion bahjis, I had a large mixed grill and the final dish was a chicken burger. The drinks were soon brought to the table and the food came shortly after. Now to say that the food was well below par on this occasion would be an understatement! Some of my meat wasn’t properly cooked, and was extremely tough, the onion bahjis were raw in the middle and the chicken burger was also nothing to write home about. We called over one of the waiters and pointed all of the failures in the meal out. He apologised, but did absolutely nothing else. This was not only the worst meal we’ve ever had at this particular ‘Spoons, but one of the most dreadful meals we’ve ever had in any of the many ‘Spoons that we have visited up and down the country!

I've been in the daytime with family to eat and enjoyed it then went on a Saturday night with work friends and we all had a good time

Used to visit this pub on a regular basis. Now never go in due to draconian management. It’s almost become a meme in Wigston that the green eyed manager will bar you for so much as looking at her the wrong way. I’ve heard many stories of people being *permanently* barred for no reason. Tim Martin would be ashamed of what goes on here. Wouldn’t recommend.

Reasonable food and drinks at a good.price

Great place, typical wetherspoons good vegetarian options and quick service as well as an easy to navigate app. It’s a fairly spacious pub and when it’s quiet it’s lovely, the only reason the atmosphere doesn’t get 5 stars is because i do have to avoid it on certain days because it gets very loud and crowded but that’s just down to personal preference i only go there for the food so i like it quiet and empty but of course if you’re going there to drink it’s great.

We visited The William Wygston in August 2023. A generic and traditional looking pub, but fairly welcoming from the outside with plenty of flowers and flower baskets. Inside the pub is small but well decorated, having been refurbished in 2015 and with plenty of seating throughout. Don’t step outside to take a phone call if it’s nearly 11pm! Popped in to meet work colleagues that I’ve not seen for a long time at around 10:50pm, stepped quickly out to finish a phone call as the interior of the pub was too noisy at 10:55pm, when I walked back in at 11pm to rejoin colleagues from work, I’d apparently crossed over the time of last admittance! For the first time ever in my 25 years been legal drinking age, but someone who doesn’t drink Alcohol, I was turfed out of pub for the bare cheek of walking through a door way a just under a minute later than allowed! Bit different.

Get place for a bite to eat and a pint.

Floor was sticky aswel as the bar, waited a long time for service although they wernt very busy. Not impressed

Great wetherspoons any time of day

A group of us went for breakfast. I had a large breakfast which was substantial, fortunately I was hungry. I had the unlimited refill tea and coffee to accompany my meal which, is great if you are a coffee fanatic like myself, they have the usual cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and various flavours of tea including breakfast tea. The breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and toast, all cooked beautifully and was very tasty. The atmosphere was calm with lots of chatter from other patrons but not too loud that you couldn't enjoy your own. Everything was clean and sanitised. The staff were polite and friendly. One thing to consider is that you have to pay for parking in the public car park behind the Lloyds Bank across the road. Up to 2 hours is a pound, so not too bad. We left feeling full and content.

Food was disgusting. Ordered vegan bangers and mash, and when the dish arrived the gravy was congealed and lumpy. The whole plate looked as though it have been sat under a heat lamp all day. When I took the plate to the bar to ask for a refund, the member of staff told me that “it’s onion gravy and is usually lumpy”. I don’t think so. Also, on the second dish around half of the chips were under cooked and solid. The side order of chicken gravy was not even half full and was clearly microwaved. Probably leftovers from the last person who ordered it. Will not return there

My wife and I, and two long-time friends had dinner here and it was quite a good experience, but as per many visits in the past there was a slight niggle that stops me from saying the meal was excellent. As usual we ordered through the app, and the drinks were soon brought to the table. It wasn’t long before the first two meals arrived, and I immediately told the member of staff that delivered them that they had been a bit mean on my coleslaw as there was hardly any in the dish it came in. Now you’d think that she would have apologised and rectified the problem, but no, she just laughed, turned on her heel and went into the kitchen. I was thinking that she may bring more out with the other two meals, but alas that didn’t happen. The other two meals arrived shortly after the first two and were delivered by the same person, who quickly put them on the table and left rather sharpish. Our friend then noticed that she had very little beans and cheese on her baked potato, so she decided to speak to a member of the staff when one of them next came up to the dining area. That didn’t work out too well as the person that brought the meals came up to the table and asked if everything was alright with the meals, but left without us answering, so the service we got was certainly below par. Apart from being short-changed on some of the items on our plates the meals were fine. We always come back to this pub, as no matter how many little grumbles we have about things that are not as they should be, we always consider that we get good value for money, and the meals are normally okay – pity about the staff on this occasion.

Compared to some of the Wetherspoons I've visited this one was pretty good. Didn't have any food just met up with some mates for a pint. As usual toilets are upstairs 😉

Over cooked food fish was not edable

Nice place, 7 of us had good time here Good food, service is very good. Happy to come back again. Recommend chicken wings as Starter. We had 2 chicken burger, 3 steaks, 2 fish and chips, 1 pizza, all freshly cooked.

Yet another spoons, you just can't go wrong with them, always consistent and a work allowance goes along way in spoons

I just popped in for a pint on my way back from somewhere, one 'Spoons is much the same as another - and the Doom Bar is almost always perfect - but I just wanted to drop in a short 'review' as two things wound me up regarding the service. Firstly, the young guy that served me (about 13:00?) was one of the most miserable people I've ever had serve me who wasn't actively rude. He has a lot to learn about customer service; I really don't want a false smile and an American-style 'Have a nice day, now!' but actually speaking to the customer might help. Secondly - and this can be a real problem in certain Wetherspoons - the other person serving, a woman, blatantly ignored me and served a regular first, even though he had come to the bar a couple of minutes after me. I didn't say anything as the male (see above) was just finishing off another customer, but I hate this selective style of queueing.

Great location at the heart of Wigston, the staff were very polite and friendly. It is a Wetherspoons and compared to others I like this one a lot, the vibe is pretty good. Food is the usual Wetherspoons food, which can be a bit hit and miss

Extremely disappointed in how the shift manager Dan dealt with when a customer came in the pub with a puppy whiteout realising that they have a no dog policy. A lady from the counter offered to give the puppy some water but the manager took the bowl and put it away, started to be aggressive in his behaviour towards the customer. I do get the policy but to get the bowl away on this heat is just cold hearted and show that clearly is no customer service whatsoever. As a manager you are front of the house and to behave like that is absolutely disgusting. Shame on you JD Wetherspoon for hiring such inexperience people as managers.

My mate and I went there for a drink yesterday after work. The place was busy and they had a lot of staff on. But the tables were absolutely dirty and I was really shocked. On the table we sat on, the table had left over food, bits of crisps etc. We looked around for someone to clean the table but there was no one around. We did notice that other tables were just as dirty as ours. I usually frequent the wetherspoons in Oadby. That is usually spotless. When someone leaves, one of their staff come around and clean the table for the next customer. Maybe the manager of the Wigston Wetherspoons needs to spend some time at the Oadby one to understand the basics of cleanliness.

We've eaten a few times in the Willy Wig, it's what you expect from a Spoons. Went for the spicy meat feast pizza with extra chilies. the pizza looked great, see photo, but it was a bland as bland can be, all you could taste was the tomato base, i ate 4 of the chilis at once, nothing, if you're going to say it's spicy then make it spicy. Very disappointing.

I go for the meals, there's usually specials and such but I tend to go for the loaded chips. Nice, family atmosphere. One of the higher ups, she has somewhat of an attitude on occasion, but I suppose that comes with the territory. Though the bar staff and the rest are all polite, able and hard working. Top marks! Almost.
