Visited recently to celebrate a special birthday, the food was average but unfortunately the service was very slow. We provided our menu choices ahead as we were a larger group but it was nearly an hour before the main course arrived and a similar length of time between main course and dessert. The staff were not particularly warm or attentive and at times it felt like we had been forgotten. However there was a lovely warm open fire burning which was a nice feature but I am not sure I will be going back.

We came here in February to celebrate a graduation. We had a table of 10 booked and we were placed in a really nice area of the pub. The food was really tasty and well prepared and we were very well looked after by all the staff and a very special thanks to Jo who ensured our whole experience was just lovely. We turned up, 11 of us, after a funeral without booking in advance. This didnt phase them as we were found a large table for all of us. Food was great, including the extra custard - which smothered the gorgeous fruit crumble. Our server, Becca, was very personable and joined in our banter.

Becca was a fantastic help with a really big booking. Took great care of us and we had a lovely time celebrating my mother in laws 70th. Kids were well cared for. My sister in law is coeliac and she was also well catered for.

An excellent family Sunday lunch for 15 of us. Almost every mouthful was eaten from aged 4 to 70!! Lovely service and very attentive in spite of being extremely busy and us a big group. Becca was very kind and friendly and popped back regularly to m make sure we were all ok.

We were in Grange Farm as a group of friends sitting at a large table, and we received excellent table service from Jo, who I believe is the manager. She was very polite and attentive and brought our drinks over very swiftly. Grange Farm has a nice ambience about it and the staff are very good. Thank you, we will be back!

i walked in and i thought it was beautiful but as soon as i sat down its when it started, we had our drinks served as quick as anything like they wanted us to get on it like i was some alcoholic then we got asked for food and half the food wasn’t on the menu and he looked at me like it was my fault then dinner was plated on the table and i looked at mine and thought wow looks beautiful and i couldn’t wait to put my face in it i went to go take a bite of my chip and i felt like i was eating a brick and i left them it was absolutely shocking and went onto my burger it was like chopping onto my mums casserole and thats dirty my associates who was with me was unhappy with their meal it was frozen absolutely nothing on the plate it was not even cooked i wouldn’t of even feed it my dog by the looks of the plate it was disappointing and dirty we had spoken to the boss she was unhappy with the suppliers but if it was the chef then they are lazy expecting customers to pay 20 quid for a meal so grange farm step up your game

Went with colleagues at lunchtime having pre-booked a table for 8. Liked: - My individual meal and drink were really delicious (fish finger sandwich, fountain Pepsi.) - Young male waiter was personable and efficient. Disliked: - The dining room was really cold. I had to wrap my coat round my legs and was still freezing. (We all were.) - My friend didn’t like her hot drink and there was no offer to replace it, even though to do would have cost them pennies. When we asked directly for it to be taken off the bill it was done grudgingly. Neutral: One person’s brownie was rock hard, which was replaced without challenge. I was surprised how expensive the menu is - a la carte prices for what was fairly average pub grub. The set menu represented better value but there were no main courses I fancied.

Eloise was great, we hadn’t booked a table but she was able to quickly accommodate us on a very busy Sunday. The meal and service was excellent.

Usually love this place and have been many times. Today the pub was freezing, understaffed and with very long waiting times for service. We’d booked for dinner but left after drinks to warm up at home.

Review from today 15th January. We walked in at 18:30, there were no staff to be seen so we just found somewhere to sit, after 10 minutes a guy came over and told us the table was reserved (no reserve sign on it) so moved us. Ordered drinks and food before 7. There was a ceiling light above the table which did not work so couldn’t see had to use touch on phone to read the menu. The place was freezing I had to keep my coat on the whole time. The next time saw any staff was when the food arrived which was 50 minutes later. There was no apology or anything. We asked for ketchup then realised the bottle was empty when went to use it. The staff were then no where to be seen again for half hour, asked for the bill when we finally seen someone and was spoken to as if we’d asked for something unreasonable and was told pay at the bar. At the bar there was no discount offered or anything. We were there for over an hour and a half and still the table that we got moved from (that was apparently reserved) no one sat at the whole time. This is the first time we have been here I can’t believe the place is even open it was that bad. If you know the food is going to take a long time would it not be a good idea to tell people when they arrive so that they can make a decision if they want to wait or not? Food was actually ok but service, basic manners and freezing place was not

Thought we would give the Grange another go as a lovely pub/restaurant. After many visits over the last few years it seems our most recent visits we are always eating in a cool or cold restaurant. Firstly I asked again to be sat somewhere warm when booking and to my delight we were shown our table in the upper room about 3 feet in front of the open fire. But quite strangely it was cool in the room. All other customers were sitting with coats on. Myself and wife took our coats off as we did sit down closest to the fire our other 2 family members kept there coats on. We very quickly realise even though the open fire was lit it had 1 log on and the heat was going straight up the chimney. I put my hand on the fire guard immediately in front of the fire and it was barely warm. U think a lot more logs needed to get a roaring fire as the radiators obviously do not heat the room. The food was lovely had to wait a little longer than usual but it was quite busy I think due to the 50% off promotion. Would happily pay full price and eat in a warm room. won’t come back now until the summer when it’s warmer. To many times eating in uncomfortable temperatures.having given it more than enough chances. I think winter eating here is not an option unfortunately.

We visited on a snowy and cold day for Sunday lunch. We have not been here for a few years due to a few poor experiences previously. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we were showed to our table despite being early. That is as good as the experience got though. It was so cold in the pub that we all had to keep our coats on, it was genuinely freezing, we had two children of 6 and 3 that were constantly saying they were cold. The Guinness was terrible and I left my pint after a mouthful, the food was ok for the kids as they had chips and sausages with beans. My roast dinner of lamb rump was chewy and 50/50 fat and meat. The roasties, parsnips and carrots were hard and rubbery. The Gravy, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings were nice though. The wife’s meal was hunters chicken and was dry and overcooked and all our meals were lukewarm warm to cold. It was so bad that we could not be bothered to complain as we just wanted to get out of there and get home to get warm. We certainly won’t be back again.

We came on Christmas Day and we had outstanding service throughout our time there thanks to Becca! The food was delicious and presented really nicely. We have booked in for Christmas dinner next year as we were so pleased. Thanks again.

Lovely food. Main course of Sea Bass was delicious and Parang curry was very pleasant. But unfortunately we left before our dessert as it took too long to bring it out

The friendliness of the staff was notable. There wasn't anything too difficult for them to make our experience better. I was able to book quickly and efficiently through the GM Andy. We had a few no shows to the meal but the team were happy to adapt to our needs

The venue is lovely, very relaxing and quirky atmosphere. The food was delicious, the service was quick and efficient. The restaurant and bar staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Very clean and nice atmosphere. Sadly the food arrived after 30 mins and it arrived cold. The lady who served us instantly provided fresh chips but the gammon was cold as were the 2 sets of fish and chips. Was only visited once when food arrived and no one was around to speak to. I’ve visited many times before but this really was a different experience.

Food was fabulous, Oli who serviced us was great. Atmosphere was lovely, had live music during our visit.

This place is my local and it has an amazing ambiance with great pleasant service. We have arrived on a night with the best live music and what a stunning evening! Candlelit tables, fantastic food and a truly fantastic evening. Thank you the Grange Pub xxx loved it!!

We went here for lunch on Christmas Day. Our server was Becca and she was very friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, well presented and generous servings. The pub has a very cosy feel, and very welcoming. We hadn't been here before, so took a chance and had a wonderful experience. We look forward to going again

I've been coming here frequently the last couple of months with my dad and we love it !!! We were booked for 6.30. Waited 15 minutes to be attended to and then seated. Did not get our first course until 7.30. It was so cold in the room my husband had to keep his coat on as did guests at the table next to us. The food was OK but nothing special, the staff were run off their feet and forgetful. Having seen how long the table next to us waited for the dessert menu and then to be,served dessert made us decide not to stay any longer. In a nutshell, understaffed, mediocre food, gone downhill.

A great evening was had by all 9 of us.

Service was good food very poor prawn cocktail no sauce bread had been defrosted butter rock hard had no iceberg lettuce,main meal potatoes raw not very impressed at all.

Came here with a group for a Xmas Dinner. I went for the Vegetable Wellington and my plate was empty! The flavour was really nice and portion sizes were just right. Everyone else were really happy with their meals too. For drinks, I went for the passion fruit mock tail which was lush! Lastly, for dessert I went for the honeycomb one and it ended the meal very nicely. Service was amazing and very friendly staff. When we got there it was full and lively. Atmosphere was really good. I had a Pushchair and our seating was literally 4 steps up, a lovely man who was with his family, offered to help me with the Pushchair, was very grateful. Would definitely come here again.

First time visit and very impressed with the layout of the business, Great choice of beers at the bar, waitress service was first class, very pleasant to deal with, Wow the food! I ordered Sirloin Steak not expecting to much, however when the food arrived it looked awesome, Tasting the steak was mouth watering, the chef had done it to perfection. I cannot fault anything, the staff were just superb, the food was worth every penny and all in all a fantastic experience which I will do again very shortly,

We went to The Grange for Xmas lunch on the 13th December 2024 i couldnt fault a thing from the glorious lovely food to the very professional helpful staff. Pre booked Festive meal for 25 5pm table wasnt ready till almost 6pm as another group still on them, food came out in drips and drabs, approx 30 mins between first and last, kids nearly eaten pizza when chips arrived, some 1/4 at least eaten meal when veg arrived, food was tastey. Desert around 8pm (we had young children with us) Over charged by £120!!!!! Due to them not taking the prepaid deposits off.

Had evening dinner here with friends. Excellent food and friendly staff. Zachary was our server and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks. Will be here again.

Signage on the a6 road says this is a free house. It is not, it is part of vintage inns (knocking a star off for that). Pub geared towards mid fayre food which looks like it's done well. Good ambience. Two ales on, doom bar and tribute, not the best selection but kept well. Ale a very reasonable price for this type of establishment.

I chose to come here for our works Christmas party after i had heard good reports after new management have taken over - what a great choice.The manager was extremely helpful from the day I booked it - the food was delicious - came out hot and the portions were big - and all fresh and tasty the serving staff was were so friendly ,especially Jo - who couldn’t do enough to ensure we were all happy . I couldn’t fault our visit at all- 24 very happy people today - Would definitely recommend

I had the unfortunate experience of eating at the grange farm last night. It was a cold winters night, actually only four degrees outside. On entering the building it was very cold, the open fire was out, and the heating off. The only staff on were two young people who worked their way socks off. It took over ten minutes before the barman had a chance to serve us. The table was pre-booked, yet took over an hour to get our meals. The food was also poor, I had gammon steak, the peas were dried out, been standing under a hot plate I’d imagine, as was the eggs, both hard not as it should be. The two other meals were of a similar poor , dried out quality. We actually ate our meals with coats on, my friend also kept her hat and scarf on. On leaving we paid the bill and took the opportunity to complain to the hardworking barman. He said he knew it was cold ! He also apologised for the poor food. We told him it’s the last time we visit. In a word a terrible experience

We recently celebrated a family 60th birthday gathering at The Grange. We were a group of 19. Andy and the team were so helpful, supportive and welcoming. We were able to choose the particular area of the restaurant where we wanted to eat. We were also able to reserve a table at the bar area next to the main entrance so that we could place the birthday cake on it. We were able to choose our meals and courses in advance to ensure a smooth and stress free experience . Andy and the team were delighted to assist and were amazing both in the planning of the event and on ensuring we had a fantastic experience on the night. The food was amazing and plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their menu choices and commented on how delicious their meals were. We had three tables set up for us. The waiter service for our group was fabulous. Attentive, polite and friendly. The staff also helped us to decorate our area of the restaurant in advance of the group arriving. We brought various table decorations that the staff were more than happy to help lay out. We wanted to personalise our area of the restaurant in advance. The staff were super amenable and pro active in ensuring our experience was a success. We have nothing but heartfelt gratitude for the service we received at The Grange. Beautifully prepared meals in a relaxed and comfortable setting. It was our first experience at this venue and it certainly won’t be our last. We enjoyed the experience so much we have already reserved a table for New Year’s Eve. This is a beautifully run establishment in a traditional British pub/restaurant setting. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with excellent service and attention to detail. Simply perfect.

The burger and lamb shank were great. However the steak was very overcooked. Asked for it medium rare but it turned up dry and almost burnt. Pretty inedible

Visited with 24 of my homies from a retirement community in Wigston my wife and I enjoyed the festive fayre that was on offer. We both opted for a 2 course meal our starters being butternut squash arancini followed by a 10 oz rib eye steak with a £4 supplement for myself and the slow cooked pork belly for 'the boss'. Both meals were well cooked flavoursome and enjoyable. As far as I could tell most others enjoyed their meals too although I heard several negative comments were made but hey ho there's no pleasing some folk! Big shout out for the staff who worked hard in serving us and thanks to Chef and brigade for getting 20+ meals out within a reasonable amount of time. Well done and thank you for a nice start to our festive celebrations.
