Great food and made fresh as you order

Fish and chips were both great. Mushy peas are awful. Unnaturally dark green and VERY watery. It’s like they’ve watered them down with water and green food dye. We had to drain half the water away before they can be dished up.

Really nice, decent food and they even gave me a large mushy peas on the house as I forgot to order them when I placed my order. It’s massively appreciated and was really nice food. thank you guys

Avoid this place , chips were ok , batterd sausage was like it had sat there for a day , Donna in nan was worse we’d ever had it was actually un edible, wouldn’t feed it to my dog

I went in the other day, they cook all the fish, burgers meat and veg in the same oil - there attitude was if people don’t ask, we don’t tell them - absolutely disgusting, if veggies stay away or if you only eat fish !

Absolutely love the nan bread with chicken tikka. The headock and chips were to perfect

The cod was hard around the edges and the chips were like chips gone cold then rewarmed.

Soggy haddock in batter and it was luke warm. at nearly 8 quid i thought it came with chips ??? kebab meat in a tray ....cold !!! curry sauce MEH ! I waited for more 90 mins from order to delivery , no updates etc , Sorry but it was AWFUL !

Such a nice place to have lunch. Staff is very polite, clean place, tasty food and on the top of everything real value for money. I highly recommend visiting them.

The fish was so greasy I couldn’t get it off the paper so lost all the skin. It was nice though albeit without any batter. The peas were stone cold & solid. Very poor quality especially for £4 for roughly half a can of mushy peas.

ordered sausage meal but they sent saveloy. ring shoo and got told it was my fault for not putting it in the notes even tho the selection is sausage or saveloy!

Was in the area and so glad I stopped by Wigston Fish Bar! Great portion size lovely kebab and chips!!

Food came out for delivery around 21:10 and took 40 minutes to be delivered so was cold. Despite living less than 10 minutes away. Driver said address took him to the wrong side of the estate when he put it in Google maps. No idea how as my husband uses it every day and gets here from all over the country. Extremely disappointing that it took an hour and 20 minutes from ordering

So ordered twice from here. First time had a couple of items missing which they said they would send but never did. This time round I was owed £5.50 change which he said he didn’t have on him but would bring back. It’s been 3 days now and still haven’t received anything and unfortunately it can’t be claimed back through just eat.

The fish and chips wasn’t freshly cooked. The fish had been in the warming shelf for a long time, it was dried out. The pea’s were over salted and cold.

The food was cold ! Not happy at all ! Spoke to them over the phone and they didn’t resolve anything for me !

Take away meal was fine, sadly it wasn’t what I had ordered which was disappointing

can't fault these guys, great kebab, arrived on time as usual, the meat was tender and the salad fresh, there's other places that could learn plenty from these guys, I won't go anywhere else for a kebab, keep up the great service

these guys make the best kebabs ever. that naan bread you make is a gift from the gods.

Best place for a naan Donner, always fresh and not overcooked, they don't skimp on the sauce and salad either. Really friendly people when I've been in the shop

Didn’t enjoy at all, (mixed kebab ) unfortunately the chicken was full of gristle. No one enjoyed it. Wouldn’t order again. Sorry

Disappointed as only half of the order turned up phoned the shop to be told the child’s meal we had picked chicken meat for as an option but delivered as donner meat was picked at random. We were also missing the main part of our order which then turned up 10 mins later as the delivery driver had not given us everything. They took our number and said they would call back however we never received a call back

Avoid like the plague. They managed to mess up an entire order (items missing. Donner meat missing from mixed kebab etc wrong items sent) and when we phoned to rectify it and get the correct items the guy pretty much laughed down the phone when we asked how so much of it could be wrong. They're really not worth the hassle or your money for an area with so many options.

I go here often for my work lunch. The shop is always really clean and tidy. The staff are polite and friendly. The food is fresh cooked and tasty. Portions are good value for money. Would recommend this chip shop to anybody who finds themselves in Wigston.

Went in on Sunday! They have lovely battered chips. They are absolutely delicious. Freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend them and try the battered chips out on Sunday.

Lovely kebab on fresh naan bread. The Sunday special chips were very good !

Ordered cheese burger which was fried and dry. Ordered Fish which was soggy and batter was stuck to the paper. Salad for the kabab was wet and soggy. Shocking food. Avoid if possible

Just purchased cod & chips. Waited for the cod , got home , chips very good . The cod was stone cold & raw !

Ordered chips, burgers and battered sides. The quantity was generous, but they all missed seasoning and the burger buns were soaked in oil. The onion rings were soggy and raw. Definetly not going again. Update 11/09: Went again and ordered the same items, quality and taste improved considerably.

It's a takeaway in wigston. They have a good take away menu from fish and chips to naan bread with kebabs etc.... meal deals are good there too. Fairly priced for the area. Staff are ok depends on the night if they are happy or not. Would recommend the chicken tikka in naan with chips but there's enough for 2 people in that 👍🏻

Went to buy fish and chips today, normally have a minimum fish, and if there is no mini fish, the normal guy let's me have a normal fish for the same price. He also said that the till was down, I wanted a peas today also he said he did not know how much it is told him £1.30, I asked him for a carrier bag, has I was on my bike, he then served him fish and chips and wrapped them up, and then rang his boss up, surely he should have done this before serving them up and wrapping them up! He then contacted his boss confirmed the price of the peas, that I had already told him! He totalled the order and charged me for a large fish, I only wanted a small fish, so total order was £8.30, as normally its about £6! He then gave me the order in a brown paper bag, I again asked for a carrier bag, he said no carrier bag they will be OK! Don't think I will be going back there for a while after this latest experience, I normally visit one a week.

Every time I order through an app it says an hour plus to deliver then it changes every ten minutes putting it further back and it’s just around the corner from me absolute joke in the end it takes around 2 hours to make and deliver a kebab 200 yards every time ridiculous

Called in here 5pm last night and ordered two large cod. I was told it would take 5 minutes, Happy with this as it meant I would be getting freshly cooked fish . Freshly cooked it was , but “fresh” fish it certainly wasn’t . It was dry and unappetising. A total waste of £9.80. Sorry but you have just lost a customer.

Avoid this place. First of all I wanted mc d but the drive though was so busy and this fish and chips shop was next door so I thought il give it a go. I asked the guy for small fish and chips and he was packing my food I asked can you please put the fish separate and he showed attitude and slammed the fish on a different piece of packing paper. I wouldn’t of gone out my way to do this review but when I saw my food the chips were all stale and it was like he recooked it.. me and a friend of mine just looked at the food and threw it away to avoid food poisoning and for a week. After I checked the review online and I agree with all the negative feedback for this place which I checked it earlier

Used to be great. Now you get ripped off depending on who is serving and it's filthy. It's why we stopped going at all.

Worst chip shop I have ever had! Avoid at all cost. Chips was raw and tasted of oil. The fish was tasteless and the batter was awful. The curry sauce tested of pepper. Will never order from here again.

I was unable to use my credit card on the till due to faulty cash machine.

Food was cold when arrived home after collecting, gave out wrong food and when rang up to ask why had incorrect order manger was rude. Chips were mouldy and looked like cheesy chips so wernt fresh. Wouldt go here again.

Be great if they offered delivery. Lovely freshly made naan in front of you but could do with more salad. Persons with long hair, should really wear hair net when handling food. Would've given 5 stars served more salad with mixed meat naan,and if the person with long hair had it fastened in a hair net. Even though it was in a pony tail,it was still swaying and the length of it warrants a hair net, I found it off putting

A brill Chippy, the food is always of excellent quality. The premises are cleaned to a high standard too. The staff are great too. Always ready with a smile, well mannerd and polite, especially the to young ladies who are serving, they make you feel welcome and are apprective of your custom. I highly recommend the Wigston Fish Bar Steph

This place isn’t professional at all, in fact they probably intend to harm you (my old mother wasn’t very well after the curry sauce) we suspect they put rat poison in it...best to avoid

Avoid at all costs. Food served raw and when you complain nothing is done. They will be getting reported to the food standards agency

Love this place. Food is always lovely and hot. Whatever time of day, it's usually quite busy. The staff are friendly and as quick as they can be during busy times. Highly disagree with some of the reviews on here because I've never had a problem. Some reviews are disgusting and not true at all
