The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

Phoned at 11.55am yesterday to check availability for lunch on the same day .I was informed they could accommodate a table for two at midday (so 5 minutes away ) I politely said we would need a little time to get there and would arrive in less than 30 mins but I was informed if I couldn’t get there within 15 minutes I could not have the table !!I have never experienced anything quite like it and absolutely appalling customer service !Having since read many of the poor reviews they obviously did us a favour and we ended up enjoying a fabulous lunch at the OWO !Hospitality is supposed to be about accommodating guests requests the best way possible but not here!!They obviously don’t want or need the business and I certainly won’t ever be spending my hard earned money at any Peninsular Hotel if this is the way they treat there customers !!! As someone else mentioned, we've also been eating here from time to time for several years and always found the food good. Last time quality had gone down a bit, but this time, a lot. To begin with, the rice we were given was basmati - the long grain Indian rice - instead of the customary short grain sticky Chinese rice. All of the food was heavily seasoned with Chinese five spice, a taste which is still lingering with me several hours later, and not in a pleasant way. My chop suey should have been loaded with a variety of vegetables but instead was almost entirely beans sprouts with a few limp bits looking like spring onion offcuts, plus about three little sticks of Julienne carrot. Very little in the way of onion, mushroom, peppers, carrots or anything else they could have used. The charsiu pork was quite tough and difficult to chew. My husband's sweet and sour chicken had carrot and onion bits that were virtually raw. I like vegetables still crunchy but those had probably only been cooked for about 30 seconds. There was really not a lot of chicken and what there was involved a lot of little bits of batter which probably did not contain any chicken inside. The chicken itself almost seemed as though it had been pre-cooked and then heated up again as it seemed a bit tired and dry. My husband's fried rice was unrecognizable as such. I'm sure we could have done better with a couple of packets of rice and a frozen meal from a supermarket. We won't be eating here again. There's no point in having a five star hygiene rating if you serve food that's inedible.

We have used this many times in the past and have never had no issues but when i phoned this takeaway tonight at 6pm and asked for a order just over £18. Had to phone back up twice and asked if my order was on its way.... and she explained they have employed a new driver and hes got lost....and on the second time they said that they would remake it again and send it straight out.....so when it eventually got to just before 9pm tonight we phoned for a third time....to say it was way to late eat now... as wife is disabled and also a diabetic... and said she had a good mind to ask for a free meal for this and the woman didn't as much as apologise... laughed thinking it was a joke and said she will tell her boss.....i cant believe there was even as much as a apology....it will very dissappointed indeed. 🙁🙁

Ordered takeaway ,Asalways service 100/00 lots of meat in our dishes beautiful cooked not too much veg.Flavour fabulous piping hot asalways.

Tried their sweet and sour pork Cantonese style and fried rice. Tried the spareribs too. Everything was very authentic, tasty, and delicious. Piping hot when I got the food. They even gave me a bag of complimentary prawn crackers. Their service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

There are Times when COOKING is a Labour at home : Even for the most Keen. The 'Royal Chef' is One of Our Go To's, as Many Times : We have Been. IT is Even More Convenient , when Delivered to the Door. Of Late; as we've Got Older, we tend to use 'Takeaway', much More. The Food is Delivered quickly : Well within an Hour. Occasionally the Beef is Tough & Difficult to Devour. HOWEVER: TASTY & Indeed, prepared, somewhat To Our Taste. The Sauce was Once to Sweet & Mild for Me ; So: Chef kindly added more Chilli & less Sugar in the Paste!

The chips with batter were great; one portion would easily feed two, service was quick and friendly. I’m told the spam fritter was delicious, the batter lovely and crisp, so I assume the same would be true of fish. Avoid the pies, however. Microwaved to such an extent the pastry was like titanium. Except for one small spot in the middle of the lid. Literally inedible. I would likely have given this an “Ecellent” had I ordered something other than a pie.

Special curry, the meat was so hard you could not cut, it was replaced with a chicken curry with the meat equally tough. However, the salt and pepper squid was lovely as was the pancake rolls, such a shame the people are lovely.

On our recent visit to London, we were staying in a hotel which was close to Tooting, that's when we crossed this market. I am very fond of visiting local markets and I'm so happy i went in this time as well. There are multiple small restaurants which have many meal deals and food offers with seating arrangements. There are even shops selling vegetables, meat, clothes, flowers, artifacts, salons and many more. A must visit place.

After China Kitchen has fallen apart, I wanted to try a new place. Ordered the Salt and Chilli box for £22. Food arrived promptly and was very hot. Each bit was very tasty and will definitely be ordering again but with a pot of satay sauce to dip in too!

Nice food friendly staff meal was very nice and a good selection to choose from give the place a go, Place has parking outside and they also deliver.

It's gone down-hill foodwise but the owner still remains as rude as ever. Peking sauce and curry sauces both thin and made with uncooked spice powders.
