The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

Lovely place and service was great could do with a bit better selection of music

We decided to order a take away as we normally eat in, but didn’t want to leave the pooch. We ordered the set meal for two people which consisted of 8 x mini spring rolls, 4x spare ribs, 2 x main dishes, 2 x portion fried rice and prawn crackers. We ordered over the phone and it was ready to collect in 20 minutes, we got it back and it was all red hot. The ribs were large and very tasty in sauce and plenty of meat, the spring rolls were crispy. We had chicken curry & chicken sechzuan which was very tasty and colourful with veg and meat and plenty of rice. We really enjoyed both dishes and had a portion left over for supper and our pooch enjoyed some prawn crackers. All in all it was great value and very tasty, filling food. I would definitely recommend either a take away or eat in.

Food: very good generally but avoid the chow mein dishes, just a gloopy mess (I'm not sure what they coated it in; it reminded my of gloy glue - not exactly flash fried in a wok). Everything else seemed quite good. However, I have since discovered that there are 2 menus, 1 'British' and 1 'Chinese'... To presume we wanted the 'British' menu without being asked has rubbed me up the wrong way. We were not dining for that. I suspect insisting on the 'Chinese' menu will deliver better results... Service a bit slow but accurate when the staff could be understood. Atmosphere a bit quiet; good because not rowdy but difficult to not intrude on others. A hard thing to get right. Maybe less seats and some screens? Will come again in the hope of improvment but won't be touching the chow mein next time (unless it's the 'Chinese' version). Be careful of the steps in the toilets.

3 of us went to this Manadarin in July 2024 as well as May and April. We had not been in years because lasr time was not a good experience with empty trays, cold food and poor service. All 3 times this year were excellent. The trays were always filled and the food hot with a large selection of various dishes as well as salad bar and huge selection of desserts. we made reservations since we were going on Sat afternoons and it gets busy. Service was friendly and prompt, It is so good to have a Manadarin closer to go to again with great food, selection and service. So happy you have improved and all 3 times were excellent. The value is good too. WE get to try so many different dishes and enjoy a lunch together with friends and family. keep up the good work. Thanks John.

This is our local Chinese and the food is always delishous. The staff a polite and friendly. You can pre order and collect, have it delivered or as we do just walk in and order and collect in person take about 15 mins. Perfect!

Ordered from here last night, got it for collection. It didn’t take too long. The food was absolutely delicious😍 definitely one of the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in ages! The portion sizes are big aswell so we have plenty of it left over to enjoy ✨

Our third visit this year to this restaurant and the food is always lovely. Service is very good and the freshly prepared dishes are always served nice and hot.

Took a bit longer than expected. Then again they got very busy very quickly due to the Goth weekend ,however no sacrifice in quality. Very good takeaway and well priced. Best I have tried in Whitby. ... I will be back

Pop in for a take away and was very happy. Had a short wait for my order and the food was excellent and still hot when I got it back to my hotel. The mixed platter starter was excellent and a couldn’t fault the beef in peking sauce. Will definitely be returning on my next visit to Scarborough.

Ordered food through their website got an order confirmation email, but never received my order. Said online it would be 45 mins for delivery but after waiting 2 hours I tried calling them to ask about my order. To which no one picked up the phone.

We are last to complain but with this I don't know where to started: 1. Salt and pepper chicken with salt and pepper chips wasn't salt and pepper chicken or chips it just chicken with pepers and onion ( chef said it how we doing) 2. we order 12 items we received 6 rang them up and they said oh yeah sorry Absolutely shocking Never again such shame they change hands Place was one off best Chinese.

If you like a good curry, stay clear of this place,....absolutely disgusting, gravy like water. curry is so thick and sloppy its doesn't even resemble curry, chicken is rubbery. chips were far too over cooked and so dry, fried rice again, over done and stuck in one lump. Lady was nice enough over the phone but clearly never listened to a word I said during my ordering because what did arrive was wrong, waste of £25 its all went straight in the bin....total let done

If Carlsberg did Chinese food, it's probably the best Chinese takeaway in the world.

Beef in black bean sauce 🤢 The worst in Scarborough!!! Not spicy at all just full of salt 🤢🤢🤢 absolute disaster!!!
