Best buffet in the world. Great dishes. I just kept eating until I couldn't breathe anymore. Dessert bar was fantastic. I loved the strawberry frozen yogurt the best 🍓. Everyone at our table just kept saying "I can't believe this place exists". We live in the mitten and it was definitely worth getting lost trying to make our way there. I'll definitely come back. We went to Mandarin Scarborough on January 21 2023 @ 12 for reservation under Greg for 2. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and I looked forward to trying the new menu items for the Chinese New Year. Instead, my table was in a room with a birthday party of about 25-30 unsupervised kids around 10 years of age who constantly ran in/out the room to the buffet knocking into people, showing examples of very poor Hygiene, and causing long lines for certain foods where they would quickly empty the new tray of food as quickly as it was replenished. There were 3 adults with this loud and boisterous party but they did nothing to supervise the unruly group. I don't believe the onus should have been on me to approach these adults and request they better supervise the kids. Overall, our lunch was a terrible experience and one that should not have cost me close to $80.

When we travel to Toronto, this is always a must stop. I have never been to a Chinese buffet restaurant that offered as many dishes as the Mandarin. There are all the traditional dishes plus a sushi bar, Canadian fare bar and a huge dessert bar. We all know that Chinese restaurants offer mediocre at best dessert selections. Not at the Mandarin. A huge selection of desserts and every one of them are delicious. I can't wait to go to Toronto again!

Everything was fresh and delicious, they have Canadian food and lots of variety in Chinese/Asian foods. A wonderful experience over all!

How about investing in new chairs? The ones you have are very old, hard and low. It's difficult for a senior to sit and get up from these chairs.

I will never go back to this place again! On 2022 July 20 I visited the Eglinton Ave East location just after 6:00 p.m. with my family. Customers were seated by the staff all clustered in one area. There was a group of about 12 people on another table close to us that were extremely loud and boisterous. They were singing and chatting so loud that that you could barely think. Some were coughing and blowing their noses. They appeared to be celebrating multiple birthdays and they were so loud that that you could clearly hear all the details that one got a card with ninety bucks in it! At no time did any member of staff asked this group to be considerate to the other customers so that they could enjoy their meals without such a nuisance. It felt like a fish market!!The restaurant allowed customers to use their bare hands to hold the utensils and dinner ware in a buffet setting! At no time were customers asked to pre sanitize their hands nor use gloves. Some of the same customers who were coughing and blowing their nose were holding the utensils and dinnerware with their bare hands. I even saw a member of staff using his hands to place gelatin cubes on the tray! We could barely eat and had to try to swallow the food and we left prematurely. I had expected to enjoy a buffet dinner with my family but was disappointed. what a horrible experience! I felt like that I threw away $209 in the trash! I will never go to this place ever again.

We went to the Mandarin in North York, Ontario. It was at 1027 Finch Ave. There is no listing on Trip Advisor for this location. We went on a Friday night for the buffet. It was $35/person but there was lots of food and it was good. They had disposal gloves to handle the serving utensils at the buffet for people if they want to use it. There was 4 of us. Two of us were vegetarians who ate fish so there was lots of food for them. The other two of us ate meat. I enjoyed the ribs and another person enjoyed the shrimp. There was lots of choices to try. For people with nut allergies, they have a list of things that contain nuts which was only one or two selections so it was easy to avoid it. We would come again if we are back in Toronto. It is expensive but it was worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised my aunt and uncle invited me to Mandarin AYCE Chinese buffet , for early Thanksgiving Dinner , because in few more days I am flying back to Vancouver , my aunt told me last time we have Thanksgiving together well back 10 years ! it is nice to see all the nephews and nieces and another uncle and aunt from New York , almost 20 people , location is excellent near Eglinton Station , place is big , very bleak ambience , but need a good make over , very casual family place , Covid 19 guidelines not well performed , it is pretty standard AYCE Chinese Buffet with variety of Western dishes , special the desserts station , apple pie , chocolate cake , etc , all the stations is little mess and not fully stock , but the hot station is steaming hot , sushi very dry and WARM , seafood dishes not fresh at all , over power with MSG , ( mouth so dry in a mins ) but surprised me the most Whole MR Prime Rib , looks fantastic , nicely cooked , the cook very nice , I had less over 30 oz thick juicy delicious cut , service decent , but some staff need more training on PR , over all , not a bad place for dinner , if you do not care about quality , happy with the quantity , good value for family get together , less your stomach will thank you , seems every one having a great time . so if you want a budget AYCE Chinese Buffet , it is okay place to try it out , for me once is enough . thank you uncle and aunt ! also Happy early Thanksgiving to every one in Toronto , I miss this place all ready ! It wasn’t under Chow Mein on the menu but I found the Cantonese Chow Mein under Noodles. It was pretty good. The Hot & Sour Soup was good - not too much vinegar. The Breaded Torpedo Shrimp were adequate but not worth the price. The Peking Style Pork and the Honey Garlic Beef tasted good but were a little tough, especially the beef. That was chewy. Steamed Rice had to be ordered separately. We could find no sign of Gai Lan on the menu. Perhaps it’s available on request. Delivery was quick. A plus for the Mandarin, the Take-out & Delivery menu clearly states “We’re pleased to alter the degree of spice or ingredients for you.” Bravo!

A family institution in Scarborough for many years which has continued throughout the pandemic lockdown, with a diverse and extensive menu available for take-out. Food is excellent, pricing is reasonable, telephone order experience is great. Many people are looking forward to Mandarin's inside reopening! Yes it will be a higher price point than you are likely used to (especially if you are from the States). You will be blown away by the food selection, presentation, but more than that the full and dynamic flavor in each dish. The servers are friendly, and when you combine thst with the charming atmosphere makes this a great place to bring a date or the family.

The service at this and most Mandarin Restaurants is fantastic. Clearly the staff are trained to acknowledge the customers and they go out of their way to do it.However, the decor is outdated by around 20 years and the food is just edible.The buffet menu has been the same as it was for the past several years and the Chow Mein in particular is drowning is Soy sauce.The restaurant was busy when we visited, but it lead me to believe that this was due to their closest competition being closed for renovations.This is something Mandarin owners should also consider because they have barely changed decorations since the place opened (We were there for that as well).Bottom line, this is why we mainly go to the “other” place, better food, bright and open seating areas, even if the staff is not quite as friendly.

Wow, for us Mandarin fans to say we won't go back, it is a serious problem.We have always been excited to go to the Mandarin, and we have always chosen the same Eglinton and Yonge location in Toronto.Last night, four of us had so looked forward to another great time at the Mandarin, but it turned out to be a disaster.We were seated in a section hot like an oven, with no explanation. Other people were also perspiring a lot so it didn't surprise us when everyone around us was ordering cold drinks, removing more clothing and were even gasping for air.We were brought drinks we hadn't ordered: a sign of stressed out staff. Then we saw the place was very understaffed: used plates started to pile up on tables and the staff simply couldn't keep up.One staff offered us a ripped paper fan and thanked us for supporting the Mandarin. He also wasted no time to tell us how difficult it was to run a restaurant and that the Mandarin needed people like us to keep it going.From a business point of view, he could've said, "We really apologize for the strange heat, but if you are very uncomfortable, we can move you to another table. Please let me know how we can make your evening more pleasant."The food LOOKED great, but we were eating more MSG than ever before. Was that a tactic to serve more sugary or alcoholic drinks? If yes, we are not falling for it ever again.While the quantity of food was also more than any other time, we felt the quality had definitely gone down substantially. Our visit was not even enjoyable because the place was so chaotic and the service was awful.It's up to the Mandarin to decide what's important: high quality as a total experience or simply quantity that meets the eye.And please, dear Mandarin management: don't ever tell customers again how hard it is to run a restaurant and that you need them. The Mandarin is not a charity. It is a large business that must improve itself in self-directed ways. Our party of four spent more than $150 there in a short time. We were customers who had expected service even if the food was self-served.Thank you.

We have celebrated every important event, every Christmas Eve visited with our family every week sometimes twice and they take the crab, calamari and deep fried onion dumplings off the menu we will not be returning!!! The staff new us as soon as we walked through the door and I think it’s a rip off to pay 29.99 for a buffet that no longer offers what I enjoy sorry we got up and walked out and won’t be back unless they bring the crab back or drastically drop the price before I will go back!!!

Stopped in for lunch during their Chinese New Year special. The staff were polite and very attentive. We had the buffet and tried multiple dishes. We found the fish to be especially good as well as the various soups. Over all the visit was pleasant and the staff were helpful. One note to people with regards to the parking. The signage outside was confusing but all you need to do is remember you license plate number which you will be required to put into the parking machine inside the front doors of the restaurant for free parking.

My cousin from Brazil was visiting and so my parents and I brought her to Mandarin for a somewhat quick lunch close to my parents home. The staff were friendly. The variety of Asian and other Canadian dishes was good. The restaurant was clean as well as clean washrooms. The parking situation was a little unusual since I haven't dined there in a while but parking is free for 3 hours in any case. The variety is sushi was good as well as the variety of different ice creams. I went to the Mandarin near my house in Woodbridge a week earlier and the food was not as good. I gave the Woodbridge location 2/5 stars. This location is much better! I will definitely be back!

I would urge anyone considering this particular Mandarin restaurant to go hungry instead. On January 19, 2018, my daughter and I went to the Mandarin at 2206 Eglinton Ave East, Scarborough, for the first time. I've visited the Mandarin in Newmarket several times before and have always remarked how prompt and polite the staff is, and how fresh, delicious, and bountiful the food is. What an awful experience we had at the Scarborough Mandarin! We waited patiently after being seated before finally getting up and hunting down a server to take our drink order. I asked for a brand of beer I know they carry, but the young server said she was new and didn't know the name of the beer. Then she just stood there. I pointed to a server nearby and suggested she ask him about the brand I'd requested. I wasn't upset, just surprised she didn't take the initiative to make an inquiry herself. Then I went to get some food. I don't fill up my plate as I want to be sure I can eat whatever I have taken. When I got up for the second plate, I noticed that several of the pans on the steam table were already completely empty. When I asked one of the ladies (whose job it was to attend to the steam tables) if there was any General Tso chicken, she didn't bother to look at me and said "No!" in a rude tone. I looked around some more at the empty pans and decided to wait until some of the chicken and fish containers were refilled. I returned to my table with some tasteless vermicelli noodles which are normally delicious at the Newmarket location. Those pans at the steam table remained empty for the remainder of our visit. In all this time, no one had ever come to take our plates or speak to us. We had to leave our empty plates on other tables whose occupants had left some time before. We were eventually surrounded by empty tables full of dirty dishes, which really was unappetizing and which said a lot about their standards of service. My daughter had to find the server twice to refill her glass of diet coke. Absolutely no one looked after our table. When the place was very busy, it made some sense, but the staff continued to ignore us even after many of the diners around us had left. I was still waiting to see something appetizing on the steam tables. When I did select some beef and snap peas, the snap peas were mushy and the beef was boiled and tasteless. By the end, I was truly annoyed at the way we'd been treated, especially since we had anticipated a decent meal and a little bit of relaxation. We waited a long time before anyone showed up with our check. This new server was pleasant, but I am familiar with the friendliness that suddenly develops when it comes time for the tip. I always overtip for good service. For only the second time in my life, I did not give a tip. The server was visibly shocked. I would not reward them for the abysmal service that had ruined our meal and our evening. My daughter and I were both deeply disappointed with our experience, and we are rather easily pleased.

The take out is still better than the buffet, but it has gone down hill. The flavour in the noodle dishes and the amount of shrimp is not like it was. l will use a smaller restaurant that is more reliable next time.

Gran variedad de comida de calidad, no sólo asiáticos. Fui durante la hora de la comida en un día laborable y era muy tranquilo y el precio ventajoso (17 $ para el buffet).

Over 20 of us from the Kew Beach Lawn Bowling Club held our annual fall lunch at the Mandarin and we were very well looked after. The vast selection of foods was amazing and the quality was good. Servers were attentive and cared for all our needs throughout the meal. Prices were very reasonable.

Lots of choice, but very average warmed over. Kind of a steep price to pay for so so leftovers. The take out is good though, you get what you want and you save money.

Plenty of selection however a bit overpriced for lunch. Green tea and the buffet will still put you back over $20

Por um preço razoável é possível ter acesso à um vasto buffet de comidas orientais e algumas opções canadenses/americanas. O ambiente é bastante agradável, bem como o serviço. É importante ter em conta que trata-se de um restaurante do tipo "coma à vontade", que normalmente não oferecem comidas refinadas e saborosas, porém entre os restaurantes deste tipo, destaca-se como ótima opção.

Went for dinner in this all you can eat Chinese restaurant. Had to wait a while to be seated even after making a reservation. Very wide selection of yummy food available. Very crowded and seats very close together.

We enjoyed the enormeous choice and the Quality . The service was excellent. There are several deining rooms and the parking is free after 18::00. Welwillend soon go again.

定番の中華がずらっと並ぶ、ブッフェレストラン。安いし居心地がいいので何度もリピ―としています。最低でも２０年以上続いている良いお店です。

La comida era buena así como la mayoría de las ubicaciones son en Toronto. El servicio era mejor aquí que en Mississauga y Barrie.

Este fue un regalo mientras visitamos a la familia. Me apresuro a añadir que a menudo frecuentan este restaurante familiar.

I have to say the buffet was super and very plentiful. Great selection of food. Although the price was very high. I have been here before on several occasions, this visit the price jumped $10 a person. 32.99 a plste. Wow...I won't pay that price for a buffet. There are other chinese buffets alot less costly then this.

Tenéis que probad este lugar !! Buffet libre económico con comida de todo tipo es una cadena de restaurantes , el servicio es bueno, y la comida exquisita extensa carta de primeros segundos postres, pastelería... cuando viví en Toronto iba allí con mis amigos 1 vez por semana , es bueno para ir en familia pareja o amigos !!

The staff was very friendy and attentive. We loved the service. The food was great and had wide selection. Had reservation so did not have to wait. Reservation is recommend.

very rich and with tremendous options of Chinese dishes and sushi. the buffet is with salad and dessert, we went on a weekend and it was with crab speciality, the lovely waitress helped us with a cracker and showed us how to get the most of meat from the crabs, the soft drinks are refillable. the food is fresh and very generous. I just love it

Por dónde empiezo. . . qué lugar. . He estado en todo lo que pueda comer restaurantes antes muchas veces, pero no como este. . . Había una amplia variedad de comida para elegir y tan fresco. El lugar estaba impecable, y el servicio era quieres personal educado y servicial. Una gran variedad de comida para satisfacer hermosa cada palet. . .

Hemos visitado Toronto desde el Reino Unido cuatro veces en los últimos 18 años visitando la familia y cada visita que hemos comido en el Mandarin. Se ha mantenido invariablemente excelente con respecto al servicio, selección y calidad de alimentos en su precio. El personal es siempre muy acogedor y eficiente, hay una gran selección de comida que es siempre fresco, caliente y constantemente renovado. La mejor relación calidad-precio es el menú del almuerzo, el tiempo para comer es más caro las noches en fin de semana, sin embargo, ofrecen las patas de cangrejos de nieve y trozos de carne en mejor esta vez, lo que refleja el aumento en parcialmente el precio. Dicho esto cenamos en otros restaurantes en la zona de Toronto y pagamos el precio de una comida completa de adultos mandarín sólo para un bistec que hincapié en el valor ofrecido por el mandarín.

The food is usually varied and of good quality! The service is always efficient and friendly. The buffet area needs to be enlarged as it is too small for crowded services!

This was my first time at the Mandarin after many years. It was a good choice for family including a child visiting from out of Canada. The friendly greeting, the relaxed atmosphere and the wide variety of food left everybody happy. I was pleased to see many of the same dishes I enjoyed long ago still available. The prices are higher on weekends and holiday, plus the cost of wine and soft drinks are quite high. Even with half price for the one senior and one child, the final bill was a shock. People who eat at the Mandarin should go when they are hungry and try as much as appeals to you. Just order water to drink. Then it will be a special experience.

Just visited in the Mandarin a week ago. This all you can eat Chinese restaurant has dishes in abundance. You should really try their famous crab!

Visiting a great-aunt and she took us here for lunch. There is a massive selection of food and we liked nearly everything we tried. I loved the vegetarian sushi options and my son loved the deep-fried dumpling. Arrive hungry!
