Stayed at The Plough Inn Chinese & Hotel for our 4th stay in August 2024. Absolutely first class every time. The host is the friendliest lady you could ever wish to meet. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The room is clean and everything you could need. Will definitely be back very soon. Thank you from Carolyn & Peter.

We have just received a wonderful delivered takeaway from golden wok & as always it was fantastic & delivered by their wonderful, friendly delivery drivers who are so lovely, beautiful meal, we would'nt go anywhere else

In Hull to visit Hull Fair and we changed our minds as it was just to busy and to cold on the last night. So my wife and I decided to have a Chinese takeaway and sit and eat it down on Hessle Foreshore. Randomly we choose Happy House in Hessle. Wow what a fabulous meal we both had. Lovely staff and probably one of the best Chinese meals I’ve ever had. Many thanks Happy House.

This is the Chinese takeaway we always use it is normal very nice. But when ordering last night it was 2 hours before getting it when they give me a time of 45 minutes and when finally got it it was very cold and dry not good at all,,

I'm impressed by how Stamford House Chinese-York, United Kingdom, handled my previous negative experience. After my disappointing first visit, I decided to give them another chance based on their sincere apology and commitment to improve. I'm glad I did! Despite my review, I wrote the company directly expressing my disappointing service received, and the truth is that I least expected that the management would care or even bother to respond to my complaint but I was surprised to receive an email the next business day expressing their desire to recover the service. This was least expected, and as a result, it got my attention and respect for the management's interest in ensuring that every customer who walked in was satisfied with the service received, as well as their interest in the customer experience. As a customer experience professional, this one act was impressive! So, I chose to give the company another opportunity to recover the service and impress me by using part of the voucher that was offered to order their ‘Roast Duck with Black Peppercorn Sauce.' From the moment I walked in, it was clear they had taken my feedback seriously. The hostess greeted me warmly and seemed genuinely happy to see me return. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The sauce quality was much better and at least met the expectations compared to my first visit. The sauce was flavourful and had the perfect balance of spice and tenderness. Stamford House Chinese has completely turned around my opinion. They've shown that they truly value customer feedback and are willing to put in the work to make things right. This level of service recovery is commendable, and I'm now looking forward to becoming a regular customer. If you had a less-than-stellar experience here before, I'd encourage you to give them another shot—you might be pleasantly surprised like I was!
