The best restaurants serving Chinese food in North West

There are two Chinese restaurants in Penwortham: Marvel and Chop Suey. I have tried both and can rate them just on their Crispy Chilli Beef. Chop Suey wins. The Marvel crispy chilli beef was 95% fishy tasting batter with so little beef I could be persuaded that there wasn’t any there in the first place. Chop Suey did a much better job, the right amount of beef and great garlic and chilli sauce. I like also that the portion size was completely un-American and so I finished it and didn’t feel bloated. Only improvement I would suggest is to somehow get the crispy chilli beef to be crispier. I’m sure I’ve had it crispier other places so it’s possible but idk how. Still very good.

Favourite Chinese takeaway in Lancaster! Tried the prawns, satay, stir fry mushrooms, salt and pepper tofu and chips and all are delicious. Service is always quick and with a smile! My go-to is their salt and pepper tofu and chips!

Usually a regular customer but as of tonight I will never order from here again. The food was completely bland with no taste whatsoever. I rang to find out if they had changed chefs and the lady on the phone was nothing but rude and patronising. She was laughing down the phone and calling me “darling”. I would have happily accepted them to just collect the original food and deliver fresh or just an apology but nothing. DO NOT RECCOMEND. 100% not the normal lady

Fast, friendly service and great quality food! Reasonably priced too. It's cash and collection only, but it's worth it! Peking House has been our family's go-to Chinese for years. We can highly recommend their chicken fu yung, chicken in Peking sauce, sweet and sour chicken, BBQ spare ribs, and salt and pepper chips.

Ordered chicken foo young and fried rice. Fried rice was perfect. However the foo young was not made with eggs, it was made with egg powder. Absolutely rotten

I was at first hesitant about going to this place because the reviews seem to be not great in generally when you scrolled down but then I realised they were reviews of a previous takeaway or something else talking about the food that the current one do not even serve. It’s unfair to them so I came here to leave a review to reflect the current situation. The roast duck was excellent with plum sauce, same as I had in Hong Kong. We enjoyed it with rice and can’t wait to go back!

Nice place to sit down, but in terms of food, rubbish food and crazy expensive I don’t recommend it at all I would never ever go back

Walked in without a booking and was warmly and promptly shown to a table. The menu had a huge selection and it did not disappoint. I couldn’t eat all of the food as I was full, but the Soft Shell Crab hit the spot perfectly. Service was really friendly and the lady who looks after front of house was particularly nice, really warm, chatty, fun; it was generally lovely to be in her company. Would I go back? Absolutely yes.

Never again! Very ordinary cooking given the location. I wouldn't recommend food served here to anyone. My son said the only thing that tasted good was the Appletiser, and for me it was the beer!

Very busy place top draw excellent

Went for a meal before heading to the Floral Pavilion. It's only 5 mins drive away. The buffet was great, service fantastic, food spot on . Need to book though as it gets busy and understandably so.
