A little more expensive than other Chinese takeouts, but phenomenal food. Also open later than others so it’s great for a late night take-out.

Cash only..... Hmmm... Always seems dodgy to me . Not a good start. Food... Tasty as long as you like limited meat... just 1 prawn, 1 pork, 1 chicken, 1 mushroom in your chow mein. Serious lack of content. £7.50 for mainly noodles. Giving this feedback to help because based on last night I won't be returning and expect others will be the same.

The atmosphere only gets as it's a takeaway that said the food is good. I live near a Chinese takeaway but would rather travel to this one the food doesn't seem to be padded out with large chunks of veg. Give them a chance if you want a takea way .

Tried here on my sisters recommendation and glad I did it’s our new favourite for Chinese food, everything is tasty and delicious- piping hot and ready on time can not recommend it enough! ( I saw the old reviews online and can definitely say they no longer stand we have had food from here twice this week!)

Hands down best Chinese in Preston let alone Penwortham, highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken in batter its truly awesome, the sauce is the best I've had 😋

Good to see a Chinese restaurant selling vegetarian 'chicken' / mock meat as it's not on the menu in a lot of restaurants. Fairly priced, too. Only downside was the thirst afterwards, possibly caused by MSG.

The prices are more than any of the menus on here or on Facebook.

Tasty food that is reasonably price, its a takeaway so there's not really an atmosphere and I find that the level of spice is inconsistent, sometimes its blow your socks off, other time it's mild and dull.

We had a pleasant take away from this place as we were passing through. Service was quick, the food was nice enough, portions are very generous, we could probably have shared one meal instead of ordering 1 each. It is cash only, and there is a bank machine 2 mins across the road, if, like me, you never carry cash.

Just bought 3 sausage and two portions of chips. Chips were absolutely disgusting obviously yesterday’s chips reheated. How hard are chips to make.

Spent £50 on food and ended up with the dish pictured..meant to be salt and pepper shredded beef,more like salt and peppered batter..stone cold as well..rang up and made them aware just to be told they would offer a discount on the next order, sorry but not good enough when spending that much hard earned money for a good meal for me and the family will not be going there again! - customer service terrible and rude

delishus scran , good rice size and shape, good length and overall feel in mouth, rolled around gorjusly on tunge and lept down my throat like a waterslide. Mr chop suey, you can chop my suey any day lad

I have been visiting this take away since I was a young lad, and although it’s changed hands a few times since then the excellent food has not changed. Me and my family visited here on the 30th March, and safe to say the food was outstanding. My partner ordered the Vegan Mock Chicken Satay, which he said was “to die for” My Salt and pepper chicken with fried rice had such a rich flavour and was nice and spicy. Unlike some Chinese takeaways which you can just taste the MSG in this dish, my experience of this from Chop Suey House was wholly different. Succulent large pieces of chicken which always seem to go so well with nice and hot fried rice. The mother in law opted for the regular Chicken Satay which was equally as good as the vegan/vegetarian alternative. I’m very pleased and impressed as it seems most Chinese take aways in the Preston area do not offer such a vast array of vegan and vegetarian dishes as chop suey do, which don’t just consist of Vegetables or tofu. Staff always very friendly and seem genuinely happy to greet you with your meal. COVID precautions excellent and speedy service too. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Chinese food at a reasonable price, the only downside was the large portions, but not to worry the left overs were eaten for supper!

Used these for the first time and I have to say it was Perfect . Ordered the set meal for 4 but it could easily have done 6 we were all stuffed lol

Food good as always. But the woman who answered the phone to take my order and the woman who served me in the shop (probably the same woman) was SO rude. And also in this covid age why do they only take cash!

Great Chinese, but this time food was bland and under seasoned. Thus the 4 stars. I always order the s+p chicken breadt strips but had a hard time finishing them due to this! Hopefully next time I'll just ask for extra seasononing

Fresh and tasty food. Very very clean and a 5 star hygeine rating.

Very unprofessional. Went in paid for my telephone order cash. 5 mins later order ready and was in an aggressive tone asked for £48.80 I said I paid you. Fortunately there was another customer who saw me pay. Went previous wek to collect order in name of Sarah and same lady said got 3 orders name Sarah. Wouldn't it been prudent to ask for a sirname. She never gave my wife chance on phone when she ordered.

Current owner has come good and l can enjoy a good Chinese takeaway once again.

First visit for a long time as we've been in a healthy eating regime but this was a birthday treat. We decided on the special set meal for two BBQ spare ribs Chicken with cashew nuts Beef in Peking sauce Yung chow fried rice. Prawn crackers and fortune cookies. So pleasd to see no sweet and sour which I dislike with a passion as it's always too sweet. We ordered and collected in the shop and were told it would be twenty minutes but only waited 15 minutes. The food was hot and the BBQ ribs dry and lovely and dry not in sticky sauce which I hate. The Cashew chicken was nice with plenty of veg but the Peking sauce was a little sweet for my taste but still edible and hubby enjoyed it. The fried rice was good but I always find it a bit too much . Will definitely go there again but possibly stick to boiled rice in future.

Had a take away from here for 5 people that came in just under £40.00. Good selection, our son lived his King Prawn and cashew nuts! After having used a few others in the area over the years, when back in Penwortham we’ll use this company again 👍

I went to Penwortham Chop Suey House tonight on Liverpool Road in Penwortham. Normally I order the Chicken in battered balls with boiled rice. However tonight I ordered the Chicken with sweetcorn and boiled rice. And it was a most enjoyable meal. The staff at Penwortham Chop Suey House are very efficient at processing your order. I would recommend a visit to Penwortham Chop Suey House on Liverpool Road in Penwortham.

Always a good standard of food here and portion size is good. Speed is exceptional; I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 15 minutes!

Good choice of food and quick service. The chicken satay starter is lovely and I like schezuan chicken. The sweet and sour chicken is not as good as others I have tried, quite insipid looking. Other dishes have been good and generously portioned.

A great Chinese in Penwortham. Having taken a dip in quality in the past, this local Chinese take away is definately back on form with great food, pleasant staff and a wide ranging menu. As local residents in Penwortham we frequent regularly and we are not disappointed.

Guys, please don't buy anything from this shop, the old woman can't speak English, she gave the the wrong things which I didn't order , something I order was missing and charged me extra for nothing.

Good food and a great choice. My only complaint would be the quality of certain foods - beef, for example I think is now supplied from a different supplier. I no longer buy any beef dishes.

Popped in here on the way home from work; ordered ribs & prawn dumpling starts for me and the wife, followed by a salt & pepper king prawn and a chilli-and-garlic main dish. Service was quick and courteous, food prepared quickly and was hot when we got home, and tasted delicious. Very good vege accompaniment in the dishes - really can't complain. If only they did online ordering!

My wife ordered kung po chicken i ordered chicken in chilli and garlic both dishes were exactly the same - chicken in gravy. Worst chinese ive ever had. Avoid

Really good food here and they remember their regulars. Only comment is that on some dishes you can taste the 'flavour enhancers' but remain good nonetheless

Use this take away regularly and we are never let down with the quality of the food and the cheerful service. Particularly like the chicken with curry sauce which is excellent. Worth trying and you will also receive quick service.

Yes, I know you usually have to wait a while but it's worth it. Just order in advance and enjoy the food when you eventually get it. Better than anything I've had from lots of restaurants and takeaways. Always first class and never too greasy...

We must use this takeaway at least once a month and have never tasted any poor quality food. Lady behind counter always nice even when extremely busy. I thought our meals last night were particularly good.

This was my absolute favourite take away and I have been a loyal customer for 20 years. Last night we ordered a simple take away and I couldn't believe it was from the same place. Greasy rice, luke warm, cheap catering ham chunks. I'm devastated to think it's been sold and is now mediocre!

This used to be a great take away, but since it was sold its has gone down hill. Some times it's ok and some times it's poor (chicken wings we're cooked but cold, Chow Main was ok). Hope they sort it out.

10 months ago I rated this place as 5 stars but the food is nothing like what it used to be. I don't know if there has been a change in ownership but something has happened. The food is 'gloopy' and the quality of ingredients is inferior to what they used to be. On a more positive note, the parking is still good.

Portions were small. Salt and pepper ribs were salty but nothing else. Crispy seaweed portion was laughable. I have used this place for 12 years on and off but this was the last straw . Back to finding a new chinese

Don't be fooled buy how this place looks on the out side the food is total rubbish greasy and silly amounts of salt complete waste of money

We use this takeaway regularly and can't fault it. Favourites in our house are the special chop suey or the special satay. Best to ring up with your order first. We've always had great food from here. Highly recommended.

Been going here for years now and the food is always consistently good. It disappoints me when people say there are long waiting times. Of course there is, that's because it's busy, that's because it's good. Worth noting though that it is a take away and not a restaurant.

Tried many preston take aways but this is def the best. Pity they don't deliver but local to me so not a problem.

Another place that is permanently de-listed, just don't even bother considering it as somewhere you might consider, go to Tang instead

I have visited this place many times the food is great but it comes at a cost as it's the most expensive take away in the area getting very close to restaurant prices.Also when I visited last night I tried to call to place my order after about 20 mins of calling and the phone being engaged I had to call at the shop itself to place my order on arriving at the shop I saw the staff had taken the phone off hook no surprise then the phone was engaged.I was told my order would be no longer than 30 minutes after waiting an hour and ten minutes I was far from happy and I was simply told its a weekend it's busy lacking a bit of customer care really great food but be prepared for a long wait if they tell you your order will be 30 minutes then add at least another 30 minutes or you will be disappointed.

No other chinese takeaway we have tried has come close. Wish we still lived in Preston. Tasty food :)

Best chinese in preston by far!!! Always happy to slightly change a meal to suit. Never had a meal that hasn't been spot on. Staff are excellent every time. Would highly recommend this chinese.

This is clearly the best chinese take-away in Preston. We've been going to them for over 20 years, and they have a killer reputation in the area. I would not go elsewhere.
