Leyland Chop Suey House in South Ribble

This place used to be the best in Leyland. I got a special curry. The curry sauce was like dishwater and the meat and prawns were scraps. Also ridiculous prices now. One to avoid.

Used to be a good chinese, the chips were totally inedible as if they had been reheated many times, the curry sauce was tasteless and very watery, won't be ordering from them again much better chinese takeaways than this

Been ordering from here for over twelve years used to include rice or chips in the price, far too many price rises found a much better Chinese just tried again and really good food but main meals should include rice or chips with extra for fried rice

Quite friendly staff BUT food rubbish , spring rolls pretty tasteless and cols in the middle 4 rolls 2 where dripping water when broke the other two just cold , in a rush for a bus and stravin so I eaten them and pribs will get poisoning

Ordered a Salt and Pepper Munchy Box yesterday, received a "Yesterdays Chicken Microwaved" meal. Absolute awful, shredded chicken wasn't even edible. I used to work with fresh food, this is nothing close to fresh. Definitely won't order from them again. Definitely a takeaway to avoid!

2nd time my order was excessively late. This last one took 2 hours to arrive. Normally the food is fantastic but today the chips were stale and moist, the rice barely warm and the main dishes ok. Called when it was 45 minute after the delivery time and was told they were waiting on the delivery driver and they'd give us some fortune cookies. 🙄 Same as last time. Maybe get some more drivers for busy nights?

Absolutely shocking, ordered at 18.10, delivery was supposed to be 19.25 by 20.00 after 2 phone calls food still hadn’t arrived. Whoever answered the phone hung up on me twice. The beef curry was as usual very good, the chips looked like they had been saved from the previous day. The sweet & sour chicken balls were like rubber balls in overcooked batter. The food here is usually very good but this is not the first time delivery and customer service has let them down

I've had a range of the meals from the menu and it's one of the best Chinese takeaway restaurants I've ever experienced. It's always buzzing in there and with good reason. Best sweet and sour I've had for a while and never had prawn toast as good. Quick service . Cant recommend enough

Absolutely awful delivery over 3 hours of waiting told 3 times food was on the way , when it eventually arrived it was cold and inedible. Threw it all away . Definitely don’t recommend here.

Been coming here for years and tried a lot of the menu over time. The flavours are brilliant, one of the best Chinese takeaways anywhere in my opinion. Prices are reasonable given the great quality.

Have tried here twice over the past month. On both times we haven't been able to fault the food. The Kyng Po has a real kick. The Happy Family was packed with meat and veg. The Singapore Chow Mein was one of the best I have had from local takeaways. The prices are competitive. We collected our order so can't comment on any delivery issues. We are looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

First time trying this place and will definitely be back, amazing food and good prices!

Leyland chop suey house is the best in leyland by far, have used them for many years, will carry on using them for years to come, extremely happy staff, food is always to high standards, fresh and plenty, delivery "their honest" expect 30min as the food is cooked fresh great communication on delivery

Can't say the rest of food is that amazing IV had better and it has got pricey over the years but so as everywhere I suppose! but if I'm ever local will Bob in for a chop suey roll which are tasty

Bought a salt and pepper platter box and a Hors D'Oeuvres. Overall very dissapointed with the quality of the food. All the meat was very dry and in most cases we couldn't eat it. Chips were also very dry so we left most of them.

Absolutely disgusting £38+ for starters and mains which were inedible. I question the chicken in the starter, the wantons were all greasy filo with no fillings, the ribs were mainly fatty gristle. The mains were so salty we couldn’t eat it NEVER again. My advice is go to wonderland we’ve never had a bad meal.

Fabulous service , fabulous food and always on time

Absolute shocking delivery time, said it was going to be an hour and a half, which was fine, but it ended up being two and a half. Never! Have I ever waited this long for a take away. The price was £44 and I asked for a discount for the time delay and they nocked off £4 , I felt shocked at this. Don't order from here on a Saturday.

Barely any meat and very dry meal and rice burnt and dry and company was no help rang them to be argued with. Usually no problem but past couple of times has been horrible will not order again

So we’ve been coming here for 20+ years and tonight will be the last time. Undercooked chicken in foo yung and a nice dark hair in the beef in pepper sauce. Contacted the takeaway to request a refund and they refuse and doubted us. I suspect Environmental Health will be getting a call soon. Save your money and go elsewhere! Disgusting!

As a regular customer to this takeaway it is disappointing that I feel inclined to knock a star off the rating. The main issue was an unexpected long delay in getting the prearranged order served. Normally, if an order is booked for a specific time it is waiting for you at the counter. On this occasion there was a fifteen minutes delay. Annoyingly, the sales staff then called over to me and asked if I ordered despite taking my money when I arrived to collect the meal. Confusion reigned as they could not recall my name or order. It was then revealed that the meal was actually in an insulated bag outside the kitchen. I put this confusion down to them being busy preparing numerous meals for delivery drivers who were picking up orders while I was waiting. Curiously, other customers arrived to collect their orders whilst I was waiting and they got their meals promptly. I might have forgiven the delay if I had not returned home to find that a portion of fried rice was missing. It seemed pointless in ringing to complain as the generous portions meant that there was enough food to share out. The incident will not prevent me using the takeaway in the future as we always enjoy their food.

Love their curry's, but had to switch from Beef when the meat became soo tough I am beginning to question its origin, and why is the chicken soo slimy, its disgusting. Why can't Chinese takeaways not use the same chicken in a curry as they do in a fried rice. I am giving up on this one after 30 yrs of going there, used to be great, but the meat and chicken really puts me off.

Fantastic Chinese terrible idea to do delivery. I tried collecting last time and took an extra 40 minutes than the collection time said, currently 2 hours in to waiting for delivery but they don't have any drivers.

Absolutely first class chow mein with noodles and sauce an extra serving of curry sauce which is quite hot but absolutely fantastic definitely a 9 out of 10!

Very disappointed with the food. I ordered special chow mein, the meat in it was overcooked and tough and it was very bland. The salt and pepper chips had little or no flavor. I probably won't be visiting again.

Best Chinese iv ever had ,I use to live in Herbert Street opposite this Chinese when I was growing up and this is the best ever ...iv tried numerous Chinese around lancashire and nothing compares I'm so glad they now do delivery won't be ordering from anywhere else!!!

Waited a while for my order to be delivered tonight, but understand that the delivery driver's are new to the job. It wS well worth the wait! The banana fritters were out of this world, never had any so delicious. All the order was 100%,so please be patient when ordering

Having a Chinese heritage, I am very analytical towards the authenticity of it. I was blown away with the taste and spices. This created a wonderful treat in the centre of Leyland. Definitely will be returning. The empty dishes proved how lovely the food was. Definitely returning for our next take away. Thank you.

First time visiting tonight after being recommended. Won't be the last - absolutely amazing food. We've got enough for tomorrow as well. Not greasy, and really tasty. Can't recommend enough.

On Saturday night we decided we were going to have a Chinese takeaway. We went to our usual place which due to the coronavirus epidemic was closed. We drove around looking for one that was ope and came across the Leyland Chop Suey House. We were served straight away even though the staff were unbelievably busy. we waited about 20 minutes for our food to be cooked. we ordered 2 different dishes, 2 lots of special fried rice and duck spring rolls. I had the Szechuan style King Prawn in hot bean sauce. Prawns were plentiful and the sauce quite spicy, my wife had chicken chop suey. We both enjoyed in enormously and have now made it our favourite Chinese takeaway ! There was too much food for one meal, in fact unless you have a massive appetite, one meal would do for two people. We didn't mange to finish one of the two special fried rice dishes.We will have the rest another time. Parking is plentiful outside along Golden Hill Lane. Can wait to go again.

We chose this takeaway as it had the highest rating but the food was disgusting. The prawn toast was soggy, soup had no taste, the shredded beef was slimey the chips had been in the microwave. They don't take cards only cash which is not advertised anywhere and the cash machine next door charges u 95p to withdraw ! very unpleasant experience will never visit again. My advice is dont waste ur money.

I went to Leyland Chop Suey House and told a member of staff there that i cannot whatsoever have milk, so asked to check ingredients. however, i was refused to be served (although they have a POSTER about allergens on the wall that states they will happily find allergens out) not happy at all

Had been recommended this pace by a number of friends when we moved to the area and it did not disappoint, it's pick up only and cash only but worth the trip in, great food, decent prices and big waiting area not that I've ever had to wait long even when I didn't pre-order... But it must get busy at times as it's so popular and good!

Got the Munchy Box C. Absolutely delicious and so much food! Real value for money. The 2 young ladies were lovely and worked really hard in this very busy, very popular takeaway. Will definitely be back.

Sorry guys, don't know what these people are on but it must only be busy on a Tuesday, when all the other Chinese takeaways are closed! 3/4 size trays, bones as ribs and expensive to boot. But I did get a bucket full of curry sauce, which is what they must be good at as it comes as a ready mix lol.

First time at the restaurant and we have been struggling to fins a decent take away in Leyland. We had curry and the special dragon which was excellent but was not too keen on the rice. Service was very good and the place was very clean well recommended as we will return.

We have been having this take away for roughly 2 years. We had it again tonight and it was again perfect. One meal can be shared between two people as the portions are so generous. It's easy to tell that the ingredients are fresh and very well made. The wet special chow Mein is our favourite with salt and pepper chicken. We have never had a meal from this place and the staff are really friendly. Change your old Chinese food take away for this for one night and you will never go back to your other. Enjoy ☺

Chinese curries are normally mild. This Chicken one we had recently was as hot as a Madras. Rang restaurant and told them of the problem.
