This is a wonderful oasis of calm and quality in the very heart of Newcastle. A large selection of Teas and foods served beautifully at a reasonable price. Go there , but don't tell anybody.

A little hidden gem of an Asian Bakery, near Northumbria University 🥐 There is probably only 1 or 2 tables for dining in - which makes the experience even more exquisite. It was my very first time here - I remember my cousin recommending me this bakery, saying that this was perhaps one of the best. It's not located in Chinatown - just a little walk away from Northumbria University, and you come across this hidden gem. The baked goods sold are DELICIOUS. All freshly baked, and sold there and then. Green tea with egg yolk paste pastries, various cakes, swiss rolls of different varieties. I tried a few of them, and enjoyed all of it thoroughly. If you love Asian Pastries, this will certainly be a highlight.

Realising we wouldn't have time for a sit down meal before catching the train home from Durham we found this great place on the way back to the station. Good vegetarian hot options katsu pumpkin, tofu or cauliflower or spicy tofu served with either rice or noodles. We went for the large pumpkin katsu to share. We also grabbed some premade vegetarian sushi rolls ( tofu cucumber and red pepper) as well aa cucumber maki from the fridge. These both came with sachets of soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi and 3 edamame pods as well as a small plastic pot for the soy sauce. A delicious takeaway dinner to complete our day in Durham. You definitely need to highlight on trip advisor that you offer good vegetarian and vegan choices.

The menu has a wide variety of dishes and was reasonably priced too. The shop was clean and the member of staff behind the counter was very friendly and polite. It was easy enough to park near by. The food was lovely, the curry tasty and the chips crispy. We will return and next time we might go for the ‘Munchy Box’ it sounds amazing!

Amazing as usual! Always happy to help. Apologetic when busy. Had to wait 10 minutes when arrived there. Perfect food. Amazing

Absolutely delicious - we had an Oreo milk tea and a mango mashed taro tea. I’d highly recommend the second one as it tasted completely of mango and taro, and the texture of the taro mash is a nice contrast. The Oreo milk tea also tasted very nice, however the mango was our favourite so much so that we ordered a second one The staff are friendly, and the cafe is clean and cosy

My HK friends wanted to try out this place and I was not disappointed! It is a hole in the wall sort of restaurant, most people eating are locals or workers getting a quick, cheap and easy meal during their lunchbreaks, but I can see why they'd choose this place! It's run by the family and everything feels very authentic and you can see them prepare your order right in front of you as there's no separation from the kitchen. Maybe some people would prefer something a bit more formal, but for a bunch of friends who were missing some good Cantonese food for not too expensive prices this was great. I got their HK milk tea which was deliciously refreshing and sweet, the market street platter and noodles with fried chicken. Their fried chicken is really great, captures that HK essence perfectly. The food here is not meant to be that special or unique, but it is the real deal. And all for super cheap too! I love this place and will definitely be returning when I come to Newcastle again, I recommend it to all my friends!

We fancied a curry but not too much so opted for what we knew would be great. Beef, mushrooms, fried rice and curry sauce. Enough to share and some rice left over. Class

Best Chinese in Newcastle! Every time we visit my family we always stop off to get some food at wok on wheels. Super friendly staff and great food - I would drive 200 miles just for the food it’s that good! You need to open a small truck in Newcastle city centre - you would make a killing!

This place is magical! Not only is this an excellent tea house that celebrates the ritual of tea drinking, they have an immense choice of teas and the food is outstanding. Highly recommend the chicken/tofu curry, garlic mushrooms and dumplings.
