The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Watford East of England

I used to have a favourite Chinese takeaway restaurant that was in Bushey, which has sadly shut down due to the owner retiring. For the longest time I couldn't find a Chinese takeaway which came anywhere close to the delight of stuffing myself with their food, until I ordered from Golden Crown. My girlfriend who is rather picky, gives Golden Crown 2 thumbs up 👍👍 My usual orders consist of: Spare ribs peking style (which are great) Egg fried rice (can't go wrong, and Golden Crown does not go wrong) Chicken Chow Mein (Yum!) Kung Po Chicken (Juicy thick well textured bits of chicken and thick sauce) Beef in Black bean sauce (great beef great sauce) Crispy Chilli Beef (great beef again, slightly chewy which I like - not crunchy) Spring rolls = good And to top it off of course they treat you to free prawn crackers.

Absolutely terrible, waited over 1 hour and 45 minutes for delivery. No call to say there was a delay, had to call after 1 hour and 15 minutes to see where the order was. For a place that charges for delivery (£3) and 75p for processing fees using card is diabolical. For 4 items including delivery and processing fee for paying by card it came upto £38.25. Complete rip off and the food was mediocre. Definitely not worth waiting nearly 2 hours for and definitely not worth the price. I don't mind paying for good tasting food and service but this was neither. I would advise to give this a miss and spend your money elsewhere.

honestly only place i order from order off the website and you can pay by card over the phone or just cash its amazing foods good only complaint id make is the pork is too tough but other items are amazing and i love this place!

My order tonight was very bad not cooked the chicken was raw and smells like bad eggs I would like my money back please so bad the food so bad and last week my husband had someone teeth in the food

The food was amazing, as always.

Food was over an hour late. Compensation was given in the form of a bottle of coke. But unfortunately the pork was inedible, and the prawns were soggy and stuck together and we were ill the next. Would not be ordering from there ever again.

Usually have food from here, the restaurant delivery guy knows me we talk politely. Ordered crispy aromatic duck tonight and now I’m very unwell. Upon opening the duck a heavy ‘Sulphuric’ stench blew out the bag into my face and I did one of those almost throwing up gag reflexes. Tried the duck and I could not stop coughing at how foul it tasted. Spoke to manager on the phone who claimed no issues as duck batch cooked on the day fresh. I want to remove this comment and photos so I hope they can reply to this review with honesty and not just lie and say there was no issues once they received my duck and ‘tested’ it. I’m sure they will have smelt the acidic stench right away. I will remove this review if they get back to me honestly. Thanks

We have had a takeaway through most of lockdown to present day and have enjoyed everyone. We normally stick with the same items, chicken curry, special fried rice, ribs or sweet and sour chicken balls or prawn satay. Never been disappointed as we have been at other local Chinese Takeaways. Chicken is always breast not scrag end and rice is fluffy and quite a generous portion. Not sure if they changed chef tonight, but chicken curry sauce was different but much improved 👌
