Yummy Yummy in Watford

Usually have food from here, the restaurant delivery guy knows me we talk politely. Ordered crispy aromatic duck tonight and now I’m very unwell. Upon opening the duck a heavy ‘Sulphuric’ stench blew out the bag into my face and I did one of those almost throwing up gag reflexes. Tried the duck and I could not stop coughing at how foul it tasted. Spoke to manager on the phone who claimed no issues as duck batch cooked on the day fresh. I want to remove this comment and photos so I hope they can reply to this review with honesty and not just lie and say there was no issues once they received my duck and ‘tested’ it. I’m sure they will have smelt the acidic stench right away. I will remove this review if they get back to me honestly. Thanks

Chicken chowmein was disgusting and I didn't think you could go wrong with rice but it wasn't cooked properly. Sweet and sour sauce was nasty. What a waste of money

The food here used to be great, fantastic. I used to get it regularly. I had food from here 6 months ago, and every dish was awful. I though how can it change so. So I gave I a swerve and came back a week ago, still awful.. Real shame.. All the sauces in the dishes are like water, with no flavour. The chicken satay was disgusting with a water sauce with boiled flavourless chicken. Kung po seemed like it was cooked a week prior with a watery sauce. Chow mein, light cooked noodles with no flavour and old onions an no meat, what there was was boiled chicken. Nothing added to flavour the noodles,shop brought Amoy with rank onions n that's it.. Chop suey was mush with a garlic tomato sauce that tasted awful. Ribs were so dry you could break your teeth on them, hard as a rock. The prawn balls were decent, the sweet and sour sauce though was like water, so ruined them. I spent £100 in total over 2 meals, £70 for the first. i had to work away the next day otherwise I would of taken it all back. 2nd time, I just was so angry I didn't want to go in. So dissatisfied, especially as they used to be so good. Pretty much all went in the bin. Please change your chefs and get back to cooking decent food, a Chinese in west Watford it's the only one that was any good. Panda is terrible also (vicarage road).. Eat at your peril, unless they change their chefs.. 🤷‍♂️

Where do I start?! Having been a customer for a very long time, it is so, so disappointing to have seen this place go swiftly downhill; both service wise and also with quality of food. Without going into great detail, just to say that our order arrived after 1.5 hours. When calling to ask where our food was, we were fobbed off with ridiculous excuses. When the food did eventually arrive, the bill (cash payment) was more than it should have been. Called the chef who could not offer any explanation other than repeat how much we had to pay, despite accepting our explanation of how much the bill should be. Food was absolutely awful. The satay mock chicken looked like vomit and tasted vile. The tofu was dry and chewy. The black pepper dish was not even in a black pepper sauce and was in fact a black bean sauce (despite charging us extra for black pepper). The green curry was black in colour and didn't look anything like a green curry. The spring rolls did not arrive. Despite calling back several times to ask where the spring rolls were, there was no answer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. We had a similar experience about a year ago but thought it was a one off due to having previously had decent experiences. Thought we would give it the benefit of our doubt again a year later. What a mistake!

Horrible Food Cold Soggy Fry Rice

Ordered food an hour ago not yet delivered. Called and called and it goes straight to answer phone. You've got my money! Please deliver my food!

If you get a take away from yummy yummy you're a dummy dummy. Chicken wings was a inch and half long, more like a budgie wing. They were cold and tasted like old burnt oil. They never delivered the whole order and when we called back the driver to mention their mistake he questioned us on was we sure? The rest of the meal was hit and miss, half warm and half cold. This so called Chinese has 2 out of 5 review for a reason, I just wish I'd looked on TripAdvisor before ordering. Order somewhere else is what you should do, or risk the rest of your evening on the loo.

Where to start. Well it went in the bin. Inedible. Chow main over cooked, dry & mushy noodles. Sweet and sour chicken balls soo greasy I could squeeze the grease out. Sweet and sour sauce thin and watery. Egg fried rice very dry, chicken curry watery weak and at least 5mm of grease floating on top. Prawn crackers were a mix of 2 different types as if they had run out and topped up the bag with another type. Just bad food all round. All either dry, greasy or weak in flavour. Avoid as way better Chinese food available in the area.

We tried the food and was good… Then, we decided to try again. It was Monday at 16:00, according to google they were opened but no one was there (I waited 30 mins and still no luck…) - waste of time

Wonderful home style flavourful food and decent portions. Reasonable. Jessi is so wonderful, and can accommodate special requests.

This is my second time i have order from here. Food very tasty, price very good. Portion reasonable. I have been order food from few chinese takeaway around watford. This is the best one in town. We did enjoyed. Lady very polite in shop, driver manner too. Food deliver quick.

Just called them up, both guys who spoke to me couldn't tell me if they had any food without wheat in, or that is gluten free! How can you run a takeaway and not know what wheat is? They seriously need to understand allergy's if they are going to continue working in the industry!.... Useless.

One of the worst , bland Chinese I have ever had- will not use again- Very poor food. The only winner was the bin.... no flavour at all- think they ran out of spices (very very bland food!)

Usual Chinese was not answering the phone so tried this place. Really glad we did. Food was excellent, great value and no poor dishes amongst the whole set menu. Highly recommend.

I haven’t been here for years but it’s under new management now and the service/food is great. I ordered by phone and collected about 10 mins later. Paid by transferring money when I arrived, no cards taken but not an issue. Food was great, very friendly lady. Thank you!

Good food and good service. Have ordered a couple of times and the first time food was excellent. The second time the order was slightly wrong and the quality of the food was not as good but the restaurant did what they could to resolve the issue - so good customer service. I would try them again.

Best place for takeaway. The food is delicious. The order came in 20 minutes and it was hot and tasty. The portions are very big size. We would definitely continue to order from here😘😘😘

Excellent food and first class service had a takeaway on Saturday and it was the best for a very long time. Will be back soon.

Excellent food! Joseph and his brother are awesome cooks! I only live down the road from them and one night thought let me try them as I was lazy to cook. And boy I did not regret it!! Loved the Singaporean noodles ..the spring rolls and beef in black bean sauce!!! Highly recommended

Our 2nd order with Yummy Yummy under new management and the food is far tastier than before. The menu is great and we got a free portion of potato spring roll with our order which was lovely!

The new owners are doing a great job, the food is tasty and you get good size portions. Definitely my favourite local chinese take away.

Vile I have left a review on the just eat website, which was ignored and I have called the restaurant multiple times but you are unwilling to help. On the 24th Oct I ordered a meal for (4-5) at a cost of £54.50 after delivery etc. I called the restaurant to complain about the quality of the food and you agreed to collect the order and give me a refund. You are now refusing to refund for food that I didn't even have. You have stolen over £50 from me.

i visied this take-away in december 2019 before 16th december 2019 i ordered a meal which was rushed. the hygeine is not clean inside.

Very disappointed x2 out of 5 pizzas ordered clearly dropped as mush in the corner of the box. Thin crust paper thin and not very much toppings. ?? Under new management avoid and go else where if you want decent pizza ....

All ways yummy but very dissapointed today as it show on Google that it is open till 12-2.30pm...on leaflet is writren that is open 12-2pm and when my son arrived there it was acctually CLOSED ;-(

Shocking service never got the food. Will not order from here again. Ordered online then over an hour later called to chase, they said it was to far to deliver and never bothered to notify us. In my opinion that's awful service.

Didn't deliver food and never bothered to tell us it wasn't coming. When we called all they said was to far, to far. Also very rude and unprofessional on the phone. STAY CLEAR

Went there yesterday, as a fan of noodles need to admit that it was very tasty, fresh and good service as well. Not a perfect place to sit down but as a take away strongly recomended!

Too expensive, food got no taste most is noodles or rice. Lack of meat. I recommend golden on st. Albans road
