Wok Express in Watford

Absolutely terrible, waited over 1 hour and 50 minutes for delivery. No call to say there was a delay, had to call after 1 hour and 15 minutes to see where the order was. For a place that charges for delivery (£3) and 75p for processing fees using card is diabolical. For 4 items including delivery and processing fee for paying by card it came upto £38.25. Complete rip off and the food was mediocre. Definitely not worth waiting nearly 2 hours for and definitely not worth the price. I don't mind paying for good tasting food and service but this was neither. I would advise to give this a miss and spend your money elsewhere.

Very bad service for delivery time

2HOURS for a Chinese… some may consider that reasonable. Actually that’s a lie.. no one would!! We chased twice they made excuses. I asked for a discount they said no.. we’ll give you extra prawn crackers! They didn’t arrive! No Diet Coke Coke.. nothing!

Chicken dish tasted of fish, called to complain told it was 'impossible' as they have no fish ingredients in the restaurant..they have a seafood category though so not sure how that works. Very poor customer service

Chicken green peppers dish tasted of fish, have ordered many times in past and was lovely, when called to complain was told that was 'impossible' as they didn't serve any fish dishes and kitchen doesnt stock fish sauce, they do however have an entire category of seafood. Was told it was the black beans flavour...it was not, very poor customer service. Will not ordering again.

Takeaway. Hubby food. Ribs mediocre - prawn balls - very doughy/undercooked (felt sick after a fee so ended up in the bin. rice okay but who cant make rice. Stir fry veg - no peppers , bland mix and too much sauce so a soggy mess. Waste of money.

Charged delivery even though less than a mile away and spent over £90. No complimentary drink or prawn crackers after making large order. I mistakenly ordered wrong dish online. Zero understanding or empathy and was told to re-order (no problem) and pay delivery again which shouldn’t have been charged in the first place or come and collect it cash only. Fried rices were bland apart from my chicken fried rice no egg which seemed to have decent flavour and colour. Food was mediocre and service was very bad. Although delivery was quick. I hope it was just a busy stressful night and they learn to cope better. Unhappy customer.

Cash Only unless you order online! Although must be the best Chinese takeaway in Watford! Have tried from Abbots Langley, Watford and Bushey and most don't even compare. Constructive criticism would be if they could add spring onions to their fried rice but that's personal preference.

We’ve not ordered a Chinese takeaway for a while but when we do we always order from Wok Express and they didn’t disappoint us. We ordered online which was quick and easy and the food was delivered well before the estimated delivery time. The portions were a generous size, the Prawn Crackers were fresh, all of the dishes were piping hot and absolutely delicious. We would most definitely recommend Wok Express.

Please don’t waste your money on this place, did a couple orders and the food taste was awful, dried and bitter and I had to throw it away. Never ever again 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

We have been ordering food from Wok Express for a long time. Tonight we ordered a meal and everything was perfect apart from the Crispy Chilli Beef dish, which was so tough from the batter to the chilli beef that it was inedible at a cost of £7.20. I phoned Wok Express and I spoke to the rudest, unpleasant and unhelpful manager that I have ever encountered. I expressed to her that our meal was perfect apart from this dish and I would like the price of this dish refunded because of the poor quality. She was so rude to me and really upset me. She said that there was nothing wrong with their dish and nobody else had complained and that she did not believe me. To summarise, I praised their food, which was good but complained only of the dish, which was not. To be treated like that after being a loyal customer, I will take my business elsewhere. The manager is a very rude nasty person. AVOID.

Taxi driver who delivered ask me for £1 yes £1. as i asked could i have some red chilli on smoked chicken unbelievable and told me to pay a £1?and my order was over £50. shame i done a lot ordering here. now i i avoid the place. bloody cheek

I have ordered from this take a way numerous times in the past but not in the last few months and reading some of the most recent reviews published was very much in two minds whether to order tonite . I am so glad I ignored the reviews My order was for a meal for two mains , a rice , and stir fried veggies PERFECTION Arrived freshly cooked and hot within 20 minutes of placing the order Portions were generous as always Ingredients fresh and tasty and all dishes beautifully cooked In our opinion this is one of , if not the best take away in north Watford at very reasonable prices Highly recommend 👍

Used to use this take away a lot but for some reason haven’t in recent months Tonite I was looking for a take out and thought of Wok express Initially put off by more recent reviews on website , but really glad I gave them another go What can I say Food delivered freshly cooked and piping hot Portion size generous Dishes freshly cooked with plenty of recognisable ingredients Very flavoursome Highly recommend and great valve

Consistent quality whenever ordered. Star dish is Lemon Chicken, generous portico of rice and noodles.

Tasty food, especially the Salt and pepper squid (in Appetisers) and the House special crispy noodles (in Noodles). Only 4 stars because they don't do any Ho Fun noodle dishes or Chicken Satay noodles. Surely one of the better chinese takeaways.

A great find, value for money and lots for your money!

Expensive food (empty wontons for £3.20?!) which I’d say is over priced. We found a piece of the green side of a washing up sponge in the noodles. Egg fried rice tasted like it was made with really old oil. Sweet and sour was a little bland, certainly not enough sour. Not worth it as there are better much Chinese places around for less. Delivery was a bit earlier than the app said which was nice.

I’ve ordered from here before and have never had an issue with food however today I ordered a king prawn chop suey and it was as if I had soup it was drenched in sauce, awful and the taste was disgusting couldn’t eat it had to throw away which is ashame as never been disappointment before by you

The food was horrid, it was cold , chewy ,greasy worst Chinese we have had.

This Wok Express is on Watford Rd, SUDBURY and replaced Mr Chan's chinese takeaway (which was good but started going downhill). I decided to try the takeaway with just an egg fried rice. It was very tasty..so we then decided to try an order for the family. The sauce in the pad thai was a little too sweet for us but the other dishes were delicious and did not have the usual grease and oil of our previous chinese takeaway. The chicken in both the rice and chow mein was well cooked and not rubbery at all. The mixed veg side dish was crunchy and tasty..we will definitely choose that dish again. The Kung Pao was able to be reduced from medium spice to mild but was still delicious. The prawn crackers were yum but I felt the bread used for the prawn toast was a little too thick. The food is of very good quality and cooked well. In the past month, we have samples Wok's food 4 times. The service is friendly both in the take away itself and over the phone. I am so glad we have a great takeaway nearby. I hope they are here to stay.

I ordered from Wok Express today, was generally good, however, some of the food was not very tasty. I ordered the vegetable chow mein, I needed to add more soya sauce to it as it needed seasoning. I also ordered the beef with ginger and spring onion. The sauce tasted really nice, however, the beef was very chewy. The chicken dumplings were good, but needed more side sauce. The portions on the other hand are very good. Very filling and more than enough. The delivery was super fast and on time.

I got a text to say it was on way and we’d nearly finished eating!! Definitely something had been updated that it had already been delivered! Excellent food just a shame no prawn crackers as complimentary with our order of over £35.

I’ve used Wok Express a number of times in the past, it’s a little more expensive than other Chinese takeaways but was always previously worth it. Not anymore! Not only was the food like warm, the batter on the prawn salt and pepper was chewy and inedible and the Singapore noodles tasted odd, like an after taste of washing chemical. To make things worse, I called to give them feedback which I thought they’d appreciate, however the female manager was rude, dismissive and abrupt - like she couldn’t care less. NEVER AGAIN Wok Express - avoid avoid avoid

It was really quick, we were looking for something to have dinner on a late sunday, and in around half an hour it was at our door... amazing!

Always go to collect normally - but due to Covid-19 I was unable to make my normal journey. The food was just as good as it always is , delivery was quick, and contactless. Super happy

Food great quality my only negative was that I ordered via just eat to claim my 25% NHS discount as I am a nurse working on the frontline in Ed but paid full price as my discount wasn’t taken off my bill. Absolutely disgraceful. The food was ordered to the wrong address, we realised this after 10 minutes when we received a phone call from the owners of the house it was delivered to. We then had to drive to the house to collect it. When we collected it the food was cold and not nice at all. We would like a full refund ASAP.

Ordered home delivery tonight as the rest of the family were at the firework display. Pre ordered online in advance early afternoon for evening delivery . Food was fabulous , piping hot , beautifully cooked with generous portions . Delivery guy was on time as per the text update I got , friendly and efficient despite the appalling weather outside . This is a very popular takeaway , extremely busy at times and in my opinion always delivers great food . Really enjoyed tonight’s food with plenty left over for lunch tomorrow 👍 Strongly recommend you give them a try

We don't use this place often even though it is close. I've been reminded why. Picked up order and found it was wrong when we got home despite them checking it. Phoned up to check and they still only started cooking the correct order when I returned the wrongly provided item. Food was ok once it had been warned up again. Probably won't bother again.

Horrible...why is it so hard to find a decent Chinese! Shredded chilli beef so crunchy and hard could brake your teeth. Noddles in the chow main had a odd texture with no flavour. Waste of money. Ffs

Failed to deliver the correct order, what was delivered had the consistency of flour tasteless inedible rubbish and cost a crazy amount £45 for 3 of us, dont waste your money going there totally rubbish.

Tasteless, overpriced and poor Chinese! They charge you for crackers as well no matter how much you spend, and they are the worst! Prawns still have the veins them which is rank!! The chicken is chewy and rubber like! You get large containers but if you want quality over quantity then this isn’t the place! The only good thing was the quarter duck otherwise a complete waste of £40+

Wok is my go to Chinese place! It is slightly more expensive than otjer in watfors but the food always arrives hot, fresh and gets delivered wuth a smile! I have never had an issue with any order I have placed they listen to you properly on the phone and are happy to help you amend your order I would highly recommend the duck its amazing amazingly crispy and never dry!Will definitely order from you guys again keep up the amazing food and service!
