Very mixed review. The restaurant and atmosphere is ok but if they want repeat business they need to fix a few things. 1) charged extra £2 for extra cucumber and spring onion with the duck even though the original serving of cucumber and spring onion was no where near adequate. Never been charged for that before!!! 2) the sweet and sour pork was more onion and peppers and hardly any pork at all. Pork was nice but not enough of it for the price you pay. 3) Noodles were edible but just a tad too greasy. For the price here the quality of food not what I would have expected. We were also charged for 3 drinks not 2, they did rectify this when we pointed it out. I’m 50/50 if I would come back. The staff were nice and I liked the restaurant just disappointed in the food quality and quantity. Maybe they were having an off night but was really looking forward to this and disappointed to say the least. This place has the potential to be very good. They just need to do better.

I gave this lot the benefit of the doubt because their food was generally ok - nowhere near as good as the restaurant Pin Wei that sadly closed down next door. Twice in a row, they have let me down to the point of no return. Last Saturday evening, ordering food online on the website, I ordered food at 6pm. I was told it would be an hour, which is quite a long time. I was happy with it though as they had managed expectations - we had four young kids to feed in the house. The food took over two hours to arrive and despite me calling at least 4 or 5 times I was told the driver was “on the way”. Food finally arrived over two hours later, after 9pm. The following week I thought that maybe the website was the issue, and therefore i would call and place an order. I was told by the same lady that the food would take 30 minutes to arrive. Five phone calls later, and having threatened to cancel the order, it arrived an hour and 40 mins later. The food is ok, no problem there. But I’d advise anyone who wants to actually taste it to place their order now for next weekend, because they have no concept of time and the two hour long waits for food ruin your evening. “He is on the way” “No, he’s not”

I was hoping for an oriental food treat but viewing the restaurant all the chefs where Pakistani's immediately I knew this was not authentic Chinese food furthermore it was halal and no pork dishes as id expect to see in a chinese restaurant. I tried the Manchuria chicken but it was really poor, I don't think these people know how to do it properly. I won't recommend going.

Our first experience of Paya was very good. I’m surprised to read so many negative comments, but we ordered early on Saturday evening which might help. The prices seemed a little high, but the portion sizes were massive - easily enough food for 2. Next time we will share. The food was hot in both senses, delivered quickly and nice and spicy. We received complimentary prawn crackers too. We have struggled to find a Chinese takeaway we like since moving to Ricky so we’re happy. Will definitely be using again.
