Mexica Buffet in Three Rivers

Very down to earth buffet. Nothing to fancy but the food is something that I can’t keep my family away from. The lovely ladies that are on the shop’s floor are doing a fabulous job and delivering perfect service. They are very kind to any age customers. We have been visiting this confusing name MEXICA Buffet - even though it’s a Chinese 🇨🇳 restaurant since it’s been open in Ricky by - the food never let us down. Always fresh, tasty and delicious. Thank you Mexica BUFFET.

Initially on first sight the restaurant looked nothing special, we were seated straight away and for midweek it was reasonably busy , the food was fantastic, all fresh and crisp , unlike other buffets elsewhere and it was a very good price, waiters were very good- attentive without being a nuisance, very impressed overall. Have already recommended it to friends and plan to make it as regular occurrence as my waistband can manage !

Absolutely in love with this place. The customer service is at the highest standard. The staff is so friendly. We've been three times already and will definitely be coming back !!!!!!

Very limited selection, but price is okay. Sweet and sour pork taste different, they had the wrong recipe. Hong buffet in Luton is better.

This is family oriented buffet is amazingly good value, Great anglo-chinese dishes. Not too spicy, plenty and simple service. The choice of dishes is vast too. The service is efficient, quiet and prompt. Remember to take cash.

We had a lovely lunch at this buffet Chinese restaurant. We've been many times before, it's excellent value, has lovely staff, and a great selection of food including starters, soup, noodles, rice, stir fried vegetables and a chicken curry. Many vegetarian options. Many desserts including ice cream, fruits, cake and banana fritters.

Raw chicken satay and no one tells you it's cash only until the bill comes. Will not be returning.

Food here is terrible the chicken is mushy and some of the food is even cold.Also someone could sneeze over the food and the waiters wouldn't even change it horrible food overall will not be eating again unless you want to be sick afterwards

Friendly staff,bit I was on my own wednesday around 8.30 pm.Food-warm,not impresive choice,not fresh chicken,and mostly veggies.Tasty ribs,sea weeds and rest is ....not so tasty.Paid 15 pounds plus 3 for small coke-thats joke.Would not go there again

Been coming here since i was a little girl back then it was called tangs and was me and my familys hot spot. now years later its me and my partners hotspot we love it always been good atmophere here and the price you really cant beat for the quality of food and service

Came here for a quick dinner as our usual place was closed and it did not disappoint. They do buffet menu and drinks you can order. Good buffet selection and good value for money. Good for quick meal out.

The usual all you can eat meal, 8 or 9 courses, very good value for money. Excellent friendly and efficient staff. Bearing in mind we haven't been there since January this year, as we went in we were greeted with "usual table?"

The first time I went here I thought the food was nice but unfortunately this time I found it yo be just OK.

This is by far the best Chinese buffet in and around the Watford area for price and quality. I have been coming here for years now and the food has always consistently been delicious and affordable. They offer a cheaper price point during the week at lunchtime, I recently visited on a Saturday evening and dinner was £16.50 pp, which is amazing considering the wide selection on offer, including salt and pepper squid, prawns, chicken satay, beef dishes, chicken, soups and more. Then to finish they have a small choice of ice cream, jelly, and fruits. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, I look forward to my next visit! :)

Unhealthy food.. done let the price fool you down, these food is coated with sugar .. first and last time .. you’ll feel disgusted after eating … if you want. Early death please go and eat there. 🤮🤢

Tons of Sugar added to all the food. Everything tastes sweet even the the Rice and the salad.. Sugar hot spot. If you wanna get cancer and diabetes this is the perfect buffet for you .

Excellent food and excellent service

You go in, they ask what you’d like to drink and then you help yourself to the buffet. The food was to a high standard. I highly recommended the chow mein noodles and the duck. Everything was warm, tasty and to a good standard. It was only £14 per person at the time of the week I went. They have weirdly very nice coke. And if you want more of something they instantly go and get it for you and replenish the buffet. I recommend as it’s good value for money for the food you get. You pay at the end. Drinks are not included in buffet.

Buffet looked smaller than would have liked upon entering and a bit squashed as in dishes above each other rather then being able to go Round the side which caused a bit of leaning over but the food was lovely. Cleaned up lots, refilled and tasty. Some additions would have been great just dishes I prefer but lots I did like and was a great experience

So glad that these guys deliver now. Eaten there many times and the food has always been good and now with the falling standards of all of the other local Chinese restaurants this place is by far the best option. I have to say, the portions were huge and the value for money excellent. Very happy and having tried all the others locally these guys win hands down!

There's a full menu available to eat in or takeaway. The buffet can also be taken away and includes duck pancakes! - good quality food, high turnover as always popular, good value - you get a sizeable round tin to fill plus a lot of nibbles in a small paper bag (prawn toast, wings, small spring rolls etc.). Famous for it's buffet but just good it's whole menu (eat in or takeaway/delivery).

Very nice place to eat the food is spot on, the staff are friendly and helpful. We went for the lunch time session and at £8.99 all you can eat you just can't go wrong. We are planning on going back with friends for the evening session. Don't let the outside put you off it's like the TARDIS and very clean and tidy

I haven't eaten at this buffet for a while so decided to pay a visit as it always seems busy these days. I wasn't disappointed there is a good selection of starters and mains which are replenished quickly and piping hot. Not a bad price will definitely be going again.

We visited for lunch which has a more limited food offering but I must say the food we had was very nice and fresh. They constantly filled up the trays so there was always a good variety of food. Great value for £8.99. Total bill £23.50 with 1 large and 1 regular coke. We will be back again for sure!

First time here and I guess it is ok ish food although not amazing as was typical bland (completely unauthentic chinese) buffet food. Bland atmosphere and plates taken swiftly which makes you feel like you are being watched. I am not in a rush to come back although I guess for £13.99 Sunday buffet it is what it is.

We come here quite a lot when we visit Rickmansworth. (We stay in the town when visiting London). Great food, plenty of choices and if things run out they are replenished quickly, not bad prices and service I’d very good. They are very friendly and can’t do enough.

Good service, clean restaurant, could do with a bit more selection, otherwise good overall. Make sure you wear your elasticated trousers 👖.

Fantastic buffet chinese always busy, quality of the food is amazing, plenty of starter choices like chicken and sweetcorn or hot soups, seaweed, chicken sticks, spring rolls, etc. This food isn't cheap, quality pieces of chicken breast used, always plenty of lamb available and well worth a visit. I go there 3-5 times a year and have never been disappointed.

This oddly named chinese buffet is very good....great selection, nice ribs, and noodles ....the other half is very fussy, and she likes this buffet best.... and you can park nearby. Id definately recommend.

Decent Chinese buffet with good variety and reasonable dishes like chicken satay sticks,prawns, aromatic duck. Dessert options a bit lacking though. Weekend dinner priced at £16/person so it’s fairly high. Weekdays or lunch prices at closer to £10 would be more reasonable for the choices and quality.

I bought takeout from this restaurant, their staff stands behind you each time to see what you are taking making you uncomfortable to pick what you want.

Well I found food very bland no rice and what food was ther tasted like a sugar bowl my self I was very disappoint I won't go back ever but other people that was with me loved it had a sweet tooth staff was lovely end result if u have a sweet tooth go if like me your more a spicy person don't I went cuz I had to make my Owen mind up I hope I've given a very fair review not everyone likes every thing God bless x

Not recomend at all! Avoid that place! Lady staff is so rude not nice person she is like a Robot, no smile on her face, was very rude with us last time when we went there. We will never get back to that place. Wasting time and money. Dont eat meat (beef?) in black bean souse always bad smell and taste.

After seeing the chef bring out the food in this disgusting uniform, it put me off my food (which was beyond substandard). Lord only knows what's going on in the kitchen if they think it's acceptable to come front of house looking like that

A chef, or kitchen staff came out to top up the food. His clothes were disgusting and filthy and greasy. Looked like they had never been washed, and it ruined our appetite. The most unpleasant experience I have ever had in any restaurant. Don't think they have any idea about hygiene. Pity, as it used to be very good value, but I doubt if I will ever eat there again.

Update 13/02/2023 Mexica Buffet have maintained a 5 star from me, I've been here quite a few times since my last review, and the quality has been absolutely spot on everytime, and what makes it even better is the very friendly staff. They're very kid friendly too which is a lovely experience, i've taken other family members here and they've also enjoyed themselves greatly. Prices have gone up since my last review but they are defintely fair increases in todays world and still very much worth the money - i'd prefer price increases over drops in quality anyday - you can tell the staff really care about what they do - keep up the good work :) I'd also like to point out they've got busier since my last review, but they manage it very well, and remain absolutely professional and friendly. OLD BUT STILL RELEVANT REVIEW Just had a lovely meal, this is my second time visiting and both times have been excellent - we travelled 40 minutes to come here as it’s worth the drive as it’s undoubtably the best Chinese buffet around - the food is always hot, it’s always tasty and the staff could not get any more friendly. I don’t think it’s possible to get a better value Chinese as the prices are reasonable, the food is excellent and fresh and the staff are lovely. We have 3 kids and they could not cater for us any better. The building admittedly is small and no frills and could do with some minor maintenance, but for the price charged and the quality of food served I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect any better - the building is certainly not falling apart as another review has said. All I can say is don’t be put off by the other reviews they’re just pedantic!

Oh my word. This is a gem of a place. It is not a big place, but it is a nice cosy size. Food is hot, and that is the main thing. Some of these bigger places, they do way to much food and the food has been sitting there for ages, but NOT Mexica Buffet. This place is good. Really loved the welcome, a good selection of your classic chinese dishes. Would highly recommend this place.

Food is surprisingly good, as good as any top tier take away Chinese restaurant. The value is reasonable for buffet and the variety is good, the staff were nice and the service decent. Enough selection of drinks, good Chinese beer on the bottle. Can't go wrong to be honest.

Don't judge on appearances, this buffet is pretty incredible. The food was fresh and piping hot. Lots of seafood dishes, loved the salt and pepper squid. All the classics you expect, ribs, prawn toast, spring rolls, duck pancakes. I'll have to find myself in the area again.
