Golden House in Three Rivers

Staying in the tree house 5 minutes from here in the car. Ordered food. Was absolutely fantastic. Special rice. Lemon chicken. Salt and chilli chicken. Spring rolls 🔥 10/10. The lemon chicken was best I've had.

Our takeaway this evening was excellent, Good Mixed Starter for 2 enough for 2), Butterfly King Prawns (6 off), Crispy 1/4 duck, crispy fried duck & egg fried rice.

Delicious food, delivery direct from restaurant so much better than any other, food arrived really hot and well packed and tastes great!

Ordered for delivery food Was high quality fried items where definitely cooked in fresh oil sauce was not just flavoured sugar water portion size could be a bit bigger finished £60 meal with 3 people and still had space to eat desert but overall a good takeaway

This meal was amazing I highly recommend the corn crab soup and the duck was also delicious .

I’ve never posted a review before but I had to for this restaurant. I ordered the crispy shredded beef and there was absolutely no sight of beef whatsoever, as was completely filled with batter.

Absolutely delightful service and delicious food. You can call ahead and pick up, or, as we did, just turn up. We have no hesitation in recommending the Golden House. It’s not trying to be fancy, but it’s blooming good.

I ignored the review I saw and went ahead as i believe everyone deserves a second chance. Horrible horrible experience, from the lady who picked my order over the phone - extremely rude! Special fried rice was indeed a nightmare as it was so stale, salt and pepper chicken was like a bare fried chicken 🙄. Very tiny prawn complementary unlike other Chinese restaurants. General food taste is a 2/10. I was highly dissatisfied after spending £25. I recommend you try Panda Cuisine, their food and service is top top notch, great size and neatly presented.

It is well seasoned, very generous and very reasonably priced compared to other Chinese takeaways. The quality of food is amazing with some of our absolute favourites being the sweet and sour king prawns, beef fried noodles, sesame prawn toast, crispy shredded beef, crispy wontons, Manchurian lamb, char siu rice and the list goes on! I can honestly say that I have never had a bad dish from this place and over the years we have tried nearly 3/4 of the dishes. If you have never been, I would highly recommend this place!

Disappointing really. Not to sure how this place has 4 stars. Everything was really bland. The crispy shredded beef seemed like it didn’t even have any beef it in, it was just crispy batter. Very little meat in the rice and noodle dishes. Even the seaweed was poor… Overall I’m just really disappointed and feel ripped off

Fast, tasty and good value for money

They have the best Singapore noodles, BBQ pork and vegetarian spring rolls. Service can be slow, but this is a family business, I think it’s important to support them. Reasonable price.

Unfortunately the food quality is very poor. Crispy duck was burnt beyond being edible, the noodle dish had no noodles in it. Nice ribs to be fair but I feel ripped off. I would avoid this restaurant.

AWFUL not one nice dish. Paid £60 for a meal easter Sunday & the chicken was dry, very little beef only 4 bits in the noodles which were also dry & tastless. The rice was in a sticky lump clearly it was not fresh & had been reheated. Even the prawn crackers which are normally fabulous were dreadful. That's an expensive meal to throw away.

Lovely people, a proper classic Chinese takeaway served with care, effort and generosity. Food from the heart.

okay food but we asked for a sweetcorn soup without chicken and it had chicken in my veggie daughter not pleased

Great selection of Oriental dishes, popular chinese ones, chicken, beef, duck, pork, vegetable and seafood, thai dishes, chop suey, omelettes, noodles and rice... delicious and fairly priced... take-away didn't take long in delivery and the portions where good too! Would repeat again and recommend! Thank you!

Out takeaway was tasty and fresh but not having had a meal from here in a while we were shocked at the amount of plastic used!! We washed and recycle binned it but the amount used made us feel uncomfortable and disappointed. Surely it’s time to ditch this method - PLEASE?

Used to be really good but got my order wrong twice in the last month and i live 2-3 miles away so wasnt gonna drive all the way back,last time was a couple of nights ago the woman behind the counter even repeated my order back to me yet i still ended up with the wrong order

The food here used to be good, but the last order was almost inedible. Tasted like packet food cooked in week old fat. Awful.

Heard lots of good things about this place but just had a meal & found it disappointing after all the hype! We Definitely won’t be eating from here again.

After reading the reviews we thought we would have a change from our local takeaway!..Utter disappointment! chicken balls were pale and hard, not sure what the satay sauce tasted of but certainly wasnt peanut, the noodle dish was edible but very small in size, not cheap either I guess the only bonus was the free prawn crackers!.. Such a shame because we like to support as many local businesses as we can.

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOOD NOT FRESH EITHER !!! food spoiled, went home, rang and tell them what my issue is and they told me to ring back tomorrow as they are very busy to discuss this with me or to do anything about it when they are busy AVOID AT ALL COST !!!

Consistently great food for both vegetarians and meat lovers!! Very nice people and deliver to Bovingdon (for a small charge) would highly recommend.

Delivery experience: ordered salt & pepper squid and spicy ribs. Very disappointed. Both was flavourless and spare rib bone found in the squid. Pad Thai was again flavourless without the classic peanut garnish. Waste of money. Am very sorry to leave this review specially in the current climate where we are trying to support local businesses.

HUMAN NAIL FOUND IN FOOD an overrated chinese and this probably the worst chinese i've ever had in life !!! had my chinese yesterday night and tried to ring back to the shop and ask for an exchange as theres a nail in my food but its either phone keep engaged or no one answering the phone !! my food ended up in the bin after 20 mins trying and it cost me around 30 pound for the chinese and i'll have to spend another 20 pound for the kebab which is 50 pound for a dinner for only two of us NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food is sooo delicious, best Chinese I have ever had. The whole family loves it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone. You will not be disappointed.

Brilliant to have our local Chinese back open. First night and on top form, telephone orders only for pickup, and all precautions in place inside.

Ordered a take away very disappointing the food was cold so had too be reheated but was not very good

odered at 6.30pm on a saturday night... didn't mind waiting as obviously busy nearly 2 hours later our food is here and cold and my battered chicken is soggy...not crispy: its in the oven trying to crisp up!! and not cheap either!!!!!! one to miss on a saturday evening!!!!!! perhaps better to not rely on deiivery

Although this is our local Chinese Take Away, I hadn’t ordered from here before as my girlfriend previously felt she wasn’t a fan of oriental cuisine. One day, after a previous night of drinking, she was afflicted with a slight hangover and felt that now might be the time to sample the delights of food from the Far East and boy is she glad she did! The service was friendly and fast, the dishes well cooked with generous portions, the sauces well balanced and it all came at a very reasonable price. Golden House have pleased the pernickity palate of a fussy girlfriend and impressed the expectations of one who considers himself to be a connoisseur of edible Eastern delights. A gold star for Golden House!

I would defiantly recommend this it has a range of dishes and the duck is delicious and the general meal is lovely and generally tasty.😋

Very lovely lady served us and the vegetarian Singapore vermicelli noodles were tasty and reasonably priced.

Decided to give this a try for the first time, I am not a big fan of Chinese food but my husband is,we ordered a delivery and it arrived on time, and I really enjoyed the food, I recommended it to my sister and she has also ordered and really enjoyed the food, I would definitely use again.

I’m relatively new to the area and had been searching for a nice Chinese takeaway. We were recommended somewhere in little Chalfont but did not enjoy their food. We then decided to try the golden house as it is very local to us. We were not disappointed... the food has always been delicious, the people who work / own it are lovely and the time to prepare the food very prompt. We will continue to use the golden house chinese takeaway.

I've been a regular customer over the past couple of years and can't fault the food or service from my experiences. I always collect my order which is ready within 15 minutes of calling. The food is always piping hot and very tasty with decent portion sizes.

Told 1930 and waited 30 mins to 1950 to eat. Shame as good food. Saturday evening is peak time and to be avoided.

Just moved here, but was put off by the reviews. Decided to try anyway. Ordered a staple, Roast Pork Noodles.It was delicious; proper roast pork, spring onions rather than overloaded with regular onions, not a gloopy mass and not greasy. Fab. Now established as our go to local Chinese take-away..

Food was nice. However chicken is too dry and chewy.

Chicken chow mien came as singapore noodles prawn toast not nice and Chicken balls had a funny taste. Sweet and sour chicken was ok and rice was good. Overall not satisfied and wont be ordering again. Back to our regular chinese in mill end!

Nice family run place good food but Friday and Saturday need order early

I used this Chinese as where I live does not have many places that deliver. I ordered prawn toast that was massively oily and greasy, I then ordered squid in batter that I could pull out the batter because so much had been used. I was then offered a refund, that I have not been contacted for. not using again..

We have been using the golden house for some time now and up to recently has been very good consistent food. We have noticed however they cannot cope with the demand at weekends. Even a collection is up to an hour.

Usually drive to Little Chalfont for Chinese takeaway but tried this one as it was closer. Fair to say we won't be driving back to Little Chalfont now, the food was excellent as were the staff.

Been fancying a Chinese for ages and tonight certainly delivered. Got to say the nicest Chinese food I’ve had in ages. Friendly and consistent service. Down side they get very busy at weekends so expect a wait, but worth it..

Having tred this Golden House i would not go back nor recommend to be very honest. Food quality didnt look or taste good. Sorry but really didnt enjloy
