For our dad’s special large family birthday party, Wok’s Cooking delivered an exceptional Chinese takeaway that truly exceeded our expectations. The food was fresh, piping hot, and bursting with flavour—definitely a 10/10 in quality. It arrived right on time, and the absolutely delicious dishes made the day even more memorable for our dad. I have used Woks Cookin twice in the last two weeks. Good food, reasonably priced and always ready in the time they specify. Just allow yourself extra time to find a parking space on weekends as they, and other eateries can be busy at weekends etc. That's not their fault but a good sign of a popular takeaway.

The staff and premises is very nice but unfortunately this is the worst "Chinese" food I've ever had, I go to Chinese restaurants all over the country and this is the worst I've tasted, completely unauthentic, the taste is no where near the same as normal Chinese food. I'm not sure if this is to cater for local taste buds but what's the point in saying you're a Chinese restaurant without actually having Chinese recipes, what kind of a cook puts sweet and sour sauce as a base in a chop suey dish?! Please don't come up with your own recipes because it's revolting

Fresh, hot & succulent. Really good singapore noodles. Nice crunchy veg, not soggy. Packed with flavour and definitely FRESH. Keep it up guys, will be returning

hey it’s trevor from 3a park lane i’m not very happy as 2 of my dishes were wide open why is this? everytime i order from a certain driver sometimes my dishes are open

Just had takeaway and definitely not not as good as usual. Crispy duck sauce separating, pancakes cold, prawn toast greasy & barely any prawns to be seen, egg fried rice & chow mein very dry. Had hard day & was really looking forward to it - seriously disappointing. Will try again and hope for improvement to usual standard.

Staff are very patient and friendly. Food is reasonably priced, portions are good too. (Photo with food on the plate is half of each box!) VERY fresh in texture/taste - lovely crunchy carrots! I had Veg Chow Mein and Shredded Chilli Beef. Service is quick too. Will definitely be back - thank you!

Delivery on time and good food overall as we usually get a take away and is always fine, except for the egg fried rice this time that was terrible! I had to leave a review as is was a very sad rice that I had to dump, didn’t taste good and was a bit overcooked

Very poor and a big disappointment. Every item we ordered (£30 for 2) bland and unpalatable - told an hour.. 1hr 45mins wait. Quite honestly the worst prawn crackers I've had. Will not be ordering again, and will reccomend to my friends and family to definatly be avoided - very very poor Woks Cookin!

Been a regular customer since they opened. Let me down last time - the guy on the phone said 10 mins to colkect- I allowed 15, it was another 15 after I arrived to collect. If it's going to be half an hour cool, say so, but don't mess me around and say 10.

Anyone who says this food is bad, honestly needs to reevaluate themselves. It’s a Chinese takeaway and the best one around at that. Please don’t read the bad reviews! Staff and food are great.

We usually order from Mexica but it is temporarily closed. I literally cannot believe how awful the food was from Woks. We couldn't even eat it. Poor quality burned food with no taste. Fatty and dry. We called to complain but they were not interested. Never order from this take away

Lovely food for a delivery only Chinese. The duck is superb and so is the smoked chicken. They don’t keep you waiting all night either. Great service all round

Disappointing. The food was hard and tasted like it was microwaved. The spare ribs were a small quantity and this is coming from someone who has a small appetite. My friend also thought his food he ordered wasn't good either

Ordered 2 beef pad Thai beautiful melt in your mouth beef.and big portion as it comes as a large. Pork char sui once again big portion and pork just fell of your fork.. grilled dumplings always the best and chips great ..cannot fault this chiense would not go anywhere else thanks Kevin and sue for a lovely meal...

Just had a takeaway the chicken satay was dry the sauce was like water The mixed hors d’oeuvres were soggy The beef was tough

Have noticed a decline in woks kitchen for some time now but after ordering today I won't be going back. The chicken satay sticks were so dryed out that we couldn't eat them. The satay sauce which used to be really thick is now a runny consistency and did not taste as nice as it used to be. The food was cold and the bag of prawn crackers was lot smaller than previous.

Have had food from here for years, but sadly it has gone downhill. I have had tastier food from icelands. Soft over cooked noodles, in what can only be described as thickened water for a sauce. That’s just one of the issues too many to list. Such a shame it was an awesome place to get a takeaway. And it is more expensive than a lot of other Chinese. It’s just not worth it anymore.

Ordered a take out today and have been a reasonably regular customer of this takeaway. However, today I found the portions to be smaller and the prawn crackers you get with a decent size order was considerably smaller than they use to be. Also, I ordered the honey spare ribs and these were pitifully small and also smaller quantities. So obvious that they run the risk of insulting their customers.

Sadly we had an awful experience as our food was cold and we found multiple hairs in our food.. the staff were so lovely and offered to send replacements but I couldn’t bring myself to eat anymore of their food. Sadly we won’t be returning

Disgusted! The Lady who took my Order is very Rude and not helpful at all! I ask her 3 x if the the Duck from my Order I want would be Deep fry and Crispy and she told me clearly YES. Even I ask her 3 times ! The food was wrapped in a Paper bag so you can see it only once your Home and open it. The skin was not crispy at all and never even touched any oil in the wok to fry. The taste of the duck was disgusting and the Jelly Skin even more ! Don’t buy there ever again!

WOW what a difference, I posted a bad review regarding Woks cooking 12 months ago and thought I would give it a second chance and ordered from them Sunday night and it’s back to the original Chinese restaurant I ordered from 5 years ago….fantastic food and reasonably priced 😍

Surprisingly good Chinese, it's a bit difficult to find a good place for a takeaway around Watford. It's a bit of shame they don't deliver to Watford - I would pay extra!

All the dishes have unique flavours. Never greasy. Fresh and tasty every time. Without a doubt the best Chinese takeaway in the area.

Best Chinese we have had in a long time. Lovely crispy duck rolls, tasty chicken balls, tender beef chow mein. 10 out of 10.

Fresh and tasty - first time we have had a takeaway from here. Crispy duck, crispy chicken shreds, ribs and prawn crackers - perfectly crispy not soggy or oily as some Chinese food can be. Lots of fresh veg was really great we will be back.

Going by some of the reviews on this place I would have avoided it. However, my co driver ordered and we both had salt and pepper ribs. They were first class. The special fried rice was nice as well along with the curry sauce. I couldn't fault the place.

Lovely birthday banquet. Lots of garlic. Prawn toast was scrummy. Lamb and pork on the tough side else this would have got 5* Arrived quickly and was nice and hot. Could pay by card over phone. Recommend.

Called to place an order for take away, was not too long. The gentleman was polite taking the order. However, to my surprise when we opened the 1st box, salt&pepper squid, I was horrified and disgusted to see a hair in the 2nd piece of squid literally in the batter !!! I called the restaurant back and spoke to the same guy, he offered any replacement for it and said his driver will deliver the food. When I said we would like crispy duck he said you have to pay extra !! Really how is it our fault if there was a hair in the food? I said I'm not paying extra. He was rude and said no he won't give anything more for what we paid and put the phone down in my face. Charming

Definitely the best Chinese in Rickmansworth

I want to be fair to these guys, the customer service is outstanding. The food in the whole is particularly good. It does have an issue in turning up piping hot, it isn't cold, but it isn't brilliant either and normally must be heated up in the microwave, it is annoying more than anything else. The one thing that does annoy me about this place is that it is not available on the delivery websites. In order to get it delivered, you have to ring up and it can take up to half hour alone sometimes to get through which means on some nights, when you really fancy a Chinese, this puts you off and so end up going elsewhere when in fact, a Chinese takeaway that has been there since before my birth in 1985, one you're used to and like, that area of service just doesn't seem to forthcoming so, if the boss reads these things, your food is near perfect apart from a few things here and there which would've allowed me to give you a 4 but that aside, the top marks wouldn't come until this restaurant was pulled in to the 21st century.

Used to really like this place. For the last six months I have tried to order occasionally at weekends and despite calling nearly 20 times each time the phone line was always engaged so impossible to order. Needs to be fixed or order online option?

Unable to order online and very difficult to call ahead to order. Foods okay, quite average. They should allow you to place orders through a temporary window or something along those lines.

The first thing I want to state is the appalling phone system they use. I spent almost an hr trying to call... every time I did the phone would cut of instantly which made me assume that there was a problem with the phone network. When I did finally get through I was told that that was normal and that the phone line would of been engaged. There phone line needs to let you know that its engaged not just cut you of instantly! I gave 3* for the food as it is not of the high standard it used to be.

First time ordering and also the last. Food was way too strong on flavour that you couldn't eat it. Waste of £21.

First time there and although the food was good but a little expensive after reaching home I was horrified to find that my vegetarian noodles contained chicken, pork and prawn. Money down the drain!

I've been trying to support small and local businesses as opposed to big chains during this whole Covid crisis and as I work not too far from this place I decided to order a takeaway to take home. I came in and was browsing the menu and the man serving was tapping on the counter in a way to get me to hurry up, so I chose my dishes and went to pay so the card machine was showing "offline" on the screen, I informed him and he angrily told me to just tap my card so I informed him it wont work if the machine was offline. He then took my card and tapped the machine, it didn't work. So he did something and the machine came on again, I paid and waited outside whilst my food was being prepared. When it was ready he shouted to get my attention and he plonked the bag on the counter causing the sauce in the bag to fall on its side. When I got home and ate my food I was disappointed in how bland it tasted, the noodles tasted like the ones from a supermarket, a lack of seasoning. The sweet and sour was good though. But as I was the only customer there at the time, and I imagine Covid has hit the restaurant/takeaway business the hardest I would think these places would try and be polite to their customers. As I said I work up the road and after this experience I will not be returning.

I tried this for the first time last week and won't be going back. I can honestly say it was the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Squid was so salty it was inedible, prawn toast was definitely 'off' and also went in the bin. The rice was dry and tasted like it had been reheated. I went here because of the rave reviews - I don't know what people rate as quality, but this certainly wasn't it.

Delicious food delivered 20 mins before they promised! I will definitely order again, and soon!!

First time ordering from Woks Cookin, the lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful, and the value for money is good - the portion sizes are large for the price. However the food is very bland and disappointing. I had to add salt and pepper to the salt and pepper chicken, chilli to the curry sauce, soya sauce to the chow mein, and chilli and garlic to the Singapore noodles. Without these additions nothing really tasted of anything. We usually buy from PAYA, the food there is much tastier, however their hygiene rating is terrible so thought would give Woks a go. Don't think we will again unfortunately.

We have just ordered a takeaway for the first time from woks cookin. What a massive mistake! All the food was awful but my sons salt and pepper chicken was inedible- literally he tried to put his fork through it and is was so hard it flew off the plate. I tried a piece and to say hard as nails is an understatement, I tasted no chicken at all, just the hardest driest batter ever. This is a dish my sons orders whenever we order a takeaway or go to a restaurant NEVER has he has anything so bad, we binned it. My husband phoned the manager who said that is how they cook it- he didn’t want to see it and even through my husband tried to explain it wasn’t edible as so hard, tasteless and no chicken just hard batter, the manager said that’s how they do it and that’s that. Suffice to say we will NEVER EVER RETURN.

Just had a takeaway from woks cooking. It took a long time to get to us due to how busy they are,but hit has to be as good a Chinese as I have had in awhile! The lamb in onion and ginger and the Singapore rice were fantastic .in fact everything was super! If you don’t mind the wait, it is so worth it!

Wow just had worst Chinese ever. Rice tasted like its microwave rice. Yuck. Satay source is melted peanut butter. chicken balls soggy . Thi red curry taste nothing like thi red curry 🤣 chicken chewy . Lamb really fatty £60 down the drain. Wish I stuck with my usual Chinese. 100 times better. First time at Woks. Overall excellent take away. Duck spring rolls were delicious, some thought that the sweet and sour sauce was a bit thin but perhaps they were being a bit picky. Char Siu with honey and onions really good1

Amazing Chinese food, the best around here by far

Can vary a lot in terms of chilli heat. I like chilli, but we had a takeaway at the beginning of December that was scorchio with loads of chilli in every dish. This time it was perfect. Plenty of garlic, which I like too. This is definitely the best in the local area currently.

Best take away we’ve had in ages. Loads of flavour. Lots of fresh ingredients. Packaged really neatly. Delivery time 45 minutes as stated on the phone. Highly recommend.

Used a different takeaway as our usual one was closed - bad decision. Meat was slimey and felt undercooked; the sweet and sour chicken had very little chicken in it anyway. Even the egg fried rice was sticky and how could they mess up seaweed?Avoid.

Went to collect a food order and asked the owner if I could pay by card and he was outrageously RUDE , not only with his raised voice but also his attitude was beyond a joke !!!!! He told me he doesn’t care that I didn’t have cash and being a regular customer he didn’t care if I never come back!! I have never had an argument with anyone in a restaurant/takeaway but his man really upset me. Food is ok but depends what time you order it !!

Oh my word! My boyfriend recommended Woks Cookin to myself and my family! Our first time ordering and I have to say, it was the BEST Chinese takeaway we've had in years. It wasn't greasy and felt very light on the tummy. Staff were friendly and prices are brilliant! 100% recommend.

First time trying this place, safe to say we won't be returning as the food was gross. Dishes were bland and tasteless, broccoli was not fresh it was mushy and from the freezer. The only thing we finished were the prawn crackers. We could have got a tastier Chinese meal from the supermarket.

Outside of Hong Kong this is the best Chinese I've ever had and it always is. I lived in Milan for a long time and used it as my regular even when I moved to Carpenders Park I still travelled to get my Chinese from here thankfully I'm back in Croxley so again it's my regular and will remain so wonderful service wonderful food always highly satisfied

Have used woks cooking on and off for a few years and will not be going back to them from now on, as their consistency is terrible. Never the same meal twice!!!

Best Chinese in the area. Brilliant sweet and sour sauce, generous portion sizes and the kitchen looks immaculate. A little pricy but it is worth it as it's a proper meal and you know it's coming from a clean kitchen. I don't bother with anywhere else now!

This is the best takeaway in the area. The Pancake rolls are a must but quite honestly everything is first class. They are always busy which in itself is a good recommendation. Order by phone and then pick up about 20mins later.

Our food was very average. The chicken was very dry, the butterfly prawns were bland and the only decent thing was the satay sauce. Friendly staff, but I will not go back.

i love this place the beef in black bean is delicious and always packed containers, the special flied lice is also delicious. cant wait to eat from here more often, im salivating at the thought, staff are brilliant and always very pleasant and polite, thanks!

We usually enjoy our food but the past couple of times it hasn’t been great. The king prawns Hong Kong style were hard and dry, which is a shame because it was the only descent Chinese take away in Ricky.

Undoubtedly the best Chinese takeaway within miles of Rickmansworth. I highly recommend the set menu for 2 ; delicious we couldn't stop eating and there was still lots left over. A real gem in our neighbourhood who will have my custom for years to come.

We have struggled in the past t9 find a decent Chinese restaurant locally that does a great take away.

Fast service. Also does delivery. Food delicious. Good value. Would recommend. My favourite is the sticky, crispy shredded chicken - delicious. You can also purchase soft drinks. Staff friendly.

I telephone my order through normally and pick the food up on the way through. In the several times I have ordered from here the staff are always friendly. The food seems to get better and better. I prefer to drive five miles to eat from here rather than eat more locally.
