Paya Cuisine in Three Rivers

Our first experience of Paya was very good. I’m surprised to read so many negative comments, but we ordered early on Saturday evening which might help. The prices seemed a little high, but the portion sizes were massive - easily enough food for 2. Next time we will share. The food was hot in both senses, delivered quickly and nice and spicy. We received complimentary prawn crackers too. We have struggled to find a Chinese takeaway we like since moving to Ricky so we’re happy. Will definitely be using again.

We have ordered massaman via Uber eats and we received the worst massaman I have ever ate. We throw up and strait to the rubbish. Shame on you Paya

This is a Chinese restaurant pretending to be Thai. The worst Thai is 20yrs! Green and red curries were more water than coconut milk, the chicken satay was dry, and crispy veg rolls were soggy. Never order takeaway from here again.

Ordered online, got the set meal for 4. It was amazing, not oily and was delivered boiling hot! Tasted wonderful, especially if you like your veggies! Super quick and packed nicely, more than enough food for 4, could easily serve 6 people. New go to for our takeaway nights 👌🏼

Ordered a take away from here for the first time this evening and the taste was amazing! Food piping hot! 5 stars from me this will be my new Chinese from now on.

They deliver food only when they want. Really bad excuses. Food is decent, but their service is just awful

Always been expensive but my last order was really disappointing just poor quality! £35 and they don't even thrown in prawn crackers.

Good food but for delivery you need to order about 2 hours before you are hungry. Still waiting………….

Guys, i really like your restaurant, we ordering a lot from you on Deliveroo, never had any issue with you, but please change the small order fee! Usually i order with my boyfriend so we can make it to 40£ together but today i wanted order alone and when i add to basket 25 pound i still need to pay 5£fee, so i had to choose the Giggling squid restaurant. Just please if you can go down a notch with this fee order will be great!

Lovely food and great portions! Slightly more expensive than other places but it makes up for it with the portion sizes.

I'm appalled by the restaurant's hygiene. Upon opening my order of chicken balls, I found a fly in the sauce. Also, I'm certain it happened at the restaurant, as I checked the sauce as soon as I got home and the sauce was completely sealed. For the sake of your health, I recommend avoiding this restaurant and trying other local takeaways instead. !!!WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Ordered a meal for x2 and a side to share - steamed ‘fresh dim sum’ which consists of mince chicken and prawns. And it were RAW. We didn’t notice until both had a bite of it already. A day later naturally we have a food poisoning. AVOID PAYA

This is such a shame. Used to order from here every now and then but the delivery is really bad. We have ordered over 2 hours ago and no sign of food in spite of calling and being told nearly 40 minutes ago that it would take 20 minutes tops.... This will be the last time we order from them. Now it's too late to either cook something or order something else!

Took more than two hours to deliver, Paya take on to many orders and are not able to fulfil their orders

Not quite as good as it used to be, but friendly and still recommended.

Ordered the crispy duck which was not shredded and very very moist. It’s meant to be crispy duck not undercooked duck. They got the order wrong too. The next day I have been experiencing bad stomach problems and very irritable bowels. I would certainly not recommend this place at all. Kaya restaurant is so much better!!!!

Disgusting, very very bad service completely messed up my order. I had to wait 45 minutes for them to replace when I tried to speak to. The manager wasn’t helpful at all. Said he doesn’t care if I leave a negative review when the food came over and returned it back because the quality of the food I got in the first place was atrocious will never ever ever use this restaurant again.

Have to be honest, it's not great. I tried the pad Thai noodles with chicken, and the vegetable spring rolls. I'm fairly sure the spring rolls were Iceland or similar. Tiny things and not very pleasant. The sweet chilli dip was watered down and so runny it had to be sipped as it didn't stick to the spring rolls. The pad Thai was more like a thick gloopy mess. A mixture of thick and thin noodles, some not cooked leading to hard lumps throughout. The chicken was actually quite nice, thinly sliced and tasty. But then some actual whole peanuts just thrown on the top killed it for me. I ate about 1/4 and threw it away.

Service in this place is terrible. Twice now I’ve had issues with them and they just leave you hanging. I will never order from them again.

Terrible service, food took 80 mins to come. Poor quality Chinese food, probably the worst I've had. Fried Rice was a complete joke. Don't waste your money! Avoid!

Chicken balls were black and soggy inside, rice was brown and soggy and smelt gone off 🤮

All the food was great and the hot and spicy tofu was incredible. The food was hot and on time.

I gave Paya 2 weeks to solve my issue before publishing this review. They ignored me… I waited almost 2 hours for my delivery (I was told it would be 40 minutes). Then when it arrived there were 2 items missing, one of them meant I couldn’t then eat my main as the main component was missing, so essentially, 3 meals missing and I paid over £50. I called up to ask if the missing items could be sent out to me but the person I spoke with told me they didn’t have a spare driver. They did say they would refund 3 main meals for me so whilst i would rather have had the food, it was a good gesture. However the refund never came. I reminded them twice and gave them two weeks to sort this but they have ignored all contact.

This used to be one of the best takeaways in the area, but the service and delivery has really gone down hill over the last couple of months. Not sure what has changed, but it's not the place it used to be.

Ordered food at 7pm with expected delivery for 7.40....currently it's 8.35 and I still can't see my food ....if you are busy please update delivery times

Terrible food . Worst Chinese I ever ordered. Took 90 mins to deliver and then after a few mouthfuls we through the lot in the bin. Even our cat turned its nose up at this revolting excuse for human food. It’s what one might expect at a soup kitchen for the homeless!

Absolutely awful. Rang and ordered £42 worth. Came over 40 mins late. Cold and part of order missing. Completely unedible and a waste of nearly £50. Never again!

I think this is the worse Chinese I have eaten well one of. Whole family didn’t eat the food. Why is the rice brown in colour? And soggy?. Never again!

4/6 dishes were unedible, after trying them I rang the restaurant to which when I spoke to the owner/manager, this was an experience in itself he was very rude and wouldn’t give me a refund due to me touching the food to which I said to him how am I meant to know if the food is unedible if I don’t touch it 😬 he then goes on to say I can give you £10 credit for a reorder baring in mind this was a £55 order and literally 95% of the food was still remaining, he then proceeded to start raising his voice and eventually hung up, I would strongly advise that no one orders from here if you enjoy a decent Chinese.

The food was okay,, unfortunately the Pad Thai I ordered was not received instead I got a spicy chicken soup? dish, however I received a refund so no major complaints

Salt and pepper chicken, foo yung and curries are all excellent and much better than other takeaways. Sweet and sour chicken below average though. Also one of the only takeaways that give you complimentary fortune cookies and Chopsticks, always a nice touch

Lovely take away food. I'd definitely recommend the steak and black pepper dish. Staff were so friendly and cheerful. Warning to anyone coming from Liverpool though, it's not like our take aways, you don't get rice or chips with the meal, you have to order separately. I was gutted when I got back to the hotel and had no rice to go with my meal. I'd definitely eat here again.

working at the Harefield hospital and the delivery driver come into the hospital thinking that he doesn't need to wear a mask to deliver and said masks are over. as i working in a hospital covid isn't over and ive seen day in and day out. i phone the restraint to compline and they have no interest in what i had to say.

They in taking the order got it completely wrong wrong dishes and wrong quantities so when it was read back to me I spent 2 mins correcting the mistakes wrong dish and wrong quantity when it turned up an item was missing and still wrong quantities when I called whoever I spoke to did not listen kept asking me if this was Uber and after repeating myself 6 or 7 times finally got the hint also food was not good rice wasn’t good spring rolls were not crisp and a little cold and in general we decided we would not eat here again

Absolute scam artists. Used to really enjoy ordering from here, have ordered over a dozen times, but now they are incapable of getting an order on time any more. I understand that places get busy but putting unrealistic times on Just-Eat and then instead of setting the food as out for delivery or still cooking, they just pretend it's already delivered. 25-45 minute estimate, 2 hours later and apparently the driver left 40 minutes ago, we're an 8 minute drive away. Not to mention, the portion sizes have nearly halved for certain dishes with no decrease in price. Don't waste your time or your money. Edit: Food has arrived, they've sent the wrong noodles, the "spicy" nasi goreng is bland, to all who tasted it & the quality of the meat on the ribs is shocking. Awful.

Didn’t really enjoy much. Ribs and rice ok but rest was pretty bland and watery (prawn toast, curry sauce, black bean and sweet n sour).

Had a pizza here was really nice. It's two different foods in this place you can order. Chinese or pizza!!

Fantastic to me and my friends on my bday

By far the worst Chinese takeaway I had! Ribs so tough they were inedible must have been in the silver dream machine (micowave)! The other dishes absolutely tasteless and bland! So disappointed! Will never use again!

This isn’t Chinese food. Curry was bland with a brown water look. Rice had a soft almost Pastey consistency and the meat rubbery. Must improve. People are friendly with good atmosphere. Service quick.

We had a huge Pizza. Buy one and get one free. It was well worth the wait x We would go back again x

Ordered for delivery, didn’t have a great experience. Food wasn’t particularly great. The green and red curries didn’t taste like they should, neither did the Tom Yum soup or even the prawn crackers (how can you go wrong with those)??? Sent the whole order back and Sam kindly gave a full refund.

Estimated delivery time was 25 minutes. After an hour of waiting we tried calling the shop but was unable to get any answer. Eventually, we went to the shop and pick-up the order. In the end it took an hour and half from ordering to getting the food. Absolutely, no communication from either online or shop and unable contact them. Very disappointed. No offer of refund for delivery charge. A shame as food was ok. Will not be using again and would never recommend.

We ordered a variety of dishes including Soft Shell Crab, Chicken Wings and Balls, Beef, Prawn and Pork dishes. Every dish was hot and absolutely delicious. I can not fault it in any way. Delivery was exceptionally fast and the food was nice and hot. There was plenty of meat and prawns in the dishes, unlike some other takeaways and the portion sizes are generous. We have ordered from Paya several times and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend this place. Sorry, no pictures, finished all the food before I decided to sing their praises.

Love the food, but realised it was 1 start hygiene rating. Rang and asked, as I want local business to succeed. It would have been fine if they told me, yes it was a problem but we have made amends. Instead, I was told it was an old rating and now is a 4 Star. Having checked, this is a total LIE. I have been conned, please PAYA get yuor hygeine right, you were closed down once for hygeine, learn from that and wash hands, and store food correctly.

Shocking my son was so looking forward to his duck pancakes but it was disgusting the cucumber was like mush!! Won’t ever go here again!!

Awful taste and cold. Just notice the hygiene rating 1 out of 5 . We will definitely wont used them again due to their hygiene rating and also what is going on with Chinese people also their quality and service has been dropped .

So let down tonight with the below par of Paya.Having ate from a number of Paya rickmansworth being my local tonight proper shocked. First was surprised no prawn crackers and when I called was told on orders over £30 what am I Tourist !?! Then Singapore noodles were so salty although asked to be cooked dark this order is not understood !chicken curry very standard and as for the duck!! Ha well , I really was not expecting what looked like the kneck Best plum sauce ever hadNot enough to temp back tho .

Great local Chinese. Good portion sizes so no need to over order.

My husband and I ordered a take away from here and it was so bad it was inedible. Firstly we had ordered quarter crispy duck and it was slimy and fatty and not crispy at all, it had hardly any meat on it and it literally made up two small pancakes. The cucumber and spring onion that accompanied the duck were all dried up and yellow, completely stale. It didn’t get any better, the pad Thai and the Thai red curry had such an awful taste that we literally couldn’t eat it. The only thing we could eat was the jasmine rice (you can’t go far wrong with that).When we rang up the restaurant to let them know how awful the food was and that it was inedible the guy was most unhelpful, refused to give us a refund and was just plain rude. I then decided to leave a review on just eat and somehow he must have cancelled our order on their system so that we couldn’t write a review.Avoid this take away at all costs.

I have to say i was very disappointed with the food on this occasion. The Ribs had hardly any sauce with them, the pork balls were very chewy and dry and the chow mein was much more greasy than normal. This is such a shame as we cannot afford to have a treat take away often, but when we do we enjoy chinese food. We also did not receive any prawn crackers (which i we always have before) and we were charged extra fro delivery, even though we spent over £50All around it was disappointing for us.

Omg a Thai that delivers to Chipperfield! Great food too! I had a Massaman with rice, satay chicken skewers, crispy won tons and char Sui buns. Piping hot and delivered within the allocated time. I expected to pay a bigger delivery charge as we are quite far out. Best Char Sui buns I’ve had!

We have had takeaway from here before and it’s been ok but the food tonight yuck yuck yuck. I don’t think I will ever be able to eat Chinese/ Thai again. I feel traumatised. The ribs tough and fatty. The crispy noodle a solid block of noodle clumped together. The crispy duck was ok. The chicken balls batter was about 1 cm thick. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like fat. The food was expensive and horrible. It went into the bin. The chicken had a weird texture like jelly. The crispy rolls were thick and horrible. The Thai was in a thick sauce like Chinese. The pad Thai said peanut on menu as it’s meant to be and it was covered in cashew nuts, it was all stuck together. The worst takeaway I’ve had and I would never order again. Yuck

Quick delivery. Accidentally ordered for pick up by mistake and they called me which was good! Food consistently good. duck pancakes, crispy beef and chicken balls always winners. Only complaint is £1.65 for a tiny extra pot of sweet and sour sauce!

A little confused as to why the reviews for Paya isn't so great. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food as it's my favourite food and this is as good as chinese food will get. Get the shredded chilli beef/chicken for sure. Down side is it's possibly a bit pricey but it is very good. 👍🏻

Meal for 2. - Plentifull but overpriced. Disappointed in my Chicken chopsuey which was an artificial shade of pink. Even the egg fried rice which I (used to) love, was stodgy and tasteless. Won’t be repeating this Chinese experience.

This take away used to be really good but the last couple have been dreadful. The prawn pad Thai used to be delicious full of plump tasty prawns and fresh vegetables now the noodles are dark brown and stodgy, virtually no vegetables and hard rubbery prawns. Other dishes not much better. I suspect chef or food supplier may have changed a couple of months ago.

Total rubbish, time to close down.

This is a family favourite and the food is excellent. The delivery is very quick with an order to deliver time of about 45 minutes. There is a great variety of vegetarian food available - the veg pad Thai is a favourite.If your looking for a well priced Thai meal, this is the place to come.

while reading please bare in mind ive been to thailand on 17 occasions on holiday for at least a month each time.. ordered pad thai which was gross and inedible. fish cakes not cooked properly.. as they were re heated in a microwave. thai crackers tasted 6 months out of date. only good thing is it arrived after 20 minutes of ordwring.. 30 minutes early - because it was all microwaved.. will not be back or recommend.

Had a good take away from here including gorgeous dumplings. Helpful staff and a good selection on the menu. Delivered on time. We will order again.

I ordered Crispy Shredded beef, it was soggy and chewy and there were more vegetables in the tub than beef. Ordered chicken and cashew nut with yellow bean sauce, came with black bean sauce. Overall it was tasteless and disappointing. Won’t ever do ever there again.

Tasty food, no free prawn crackers unlike the Radlett PAYA

They delivered to us at 11.38pm food was so fresh and tasted amazing. None of the greasy stuff u get from other places

Rice was not cooked properly, the driver pushed through my electric gates to get in nearly breaking the motor. Driver denied doing it. Called up and spoke to bez And said I need to speak to the manager the day after. DO NOT EAT HERE !!!!

It has always been good for several times we ordered. But it was horrible. Two chicken curries were like water and boiled chicken. We then called PAYA to let them know. The person named Maz spoke very rudly. He said that they 80 orders. They should not have accepted my order in the first instance. Simple pathetic

I use this takeaway regularly, their food is nice however I do feel they are quite expensive.

We have been ordering from them for over 6 months and thought it was great that they had moved closer to where i live. The food was amazing then i ordered tonight and there was a mix up as they didn't put any prawns or squid in the XO sauce but the owner personally delivered a fresh one and was good. Fair play all the bad press about this place via Facebook don't listen to it! Kim

Very expensive for the area, was surcharged for paying by card & £1.50 delivery for less than a mile up the road. Although very tasty the texture of the chicken was odd, was concerned under cooked. Re stir fried the left overs
