Just had a takeaway from The Golden Chef on St Neots Road. Only moved here 6 months ago and wanted to find a nice Chinese that was on par where we lived in Stevenage. It was absolutely delicious. Beautifully cooked hot and yummy. Nice people too very friendly and a bonus just round the corner. Definitely our go to takeaway….

We went here as a party of eight for a birthday meal. The restaurant was very quiet as it was midweek, but this didn't make our experience any worse. The staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Each course arrived quickly and was delicious and, despite us thinking we'd ordered too much, we managed to eat just about everything 😉 The takeaway here is incredibly quick and the food delicious, so if you've not time to eat in, grab a takeaway and you'll not regret it!

Thought I’d give an up to date review as the previous years paint a poor picture. Have always had a lovely meal from wok and go. Food is always hot on arrival and my order is never wrong. Phone service is very polite and efficient and thd drivers are also very polite and prompt. Five star review from our house for the last few years. Keep up the great service. Thanks 👍

Tried this takeaway restaurant for the first time, never again, probably one of the worst Chinese takeaway meals we’ve ever had, the chow mein had hardly any vegetables, thin cheap noodles in a watery sauce, special fried rice was anything but special, no complementary prawn crackers - we won’t be returning.

Great Chinese as always - have been ordering from here since we moved house in Oct 2023 and have never been disappointed. Food is always tasty, piping hot and appears at our door quickly!

Grabbed takeaway last night. Their “kung po chicken” was deep fried chicken bits in a sweet and sour sauce full of vinegar. Not the traditional cubed chicken with peanuts cooked with diced veg and hot chilis. Not a nut to be seen. Hot and Sour soup was ok, but again too much vinegar. The problem I’ve found with most of the Chinese takeaway in England is the noxious abundance of vinegar in all of their sauces. Also, why do they charge extra for boiled rice and sauces?

Duck in plum sauce - way too sweet (syrup-like) with extremely fatty pieces of duck skin, lamb with ginger and spring onion dish was also sweet, 1 item missing from order which restaurant did not apologise for when contacted - just told a replacement would be sent. Delivery fee was high given that it was local but JustEat added £3.50 delivery which included a service charge fee that delivery would have been just £1 had I contacted the restaurant direct! Avoid as quality of food is not good and order was not hot. I will stick to my normal local which is even nearer/fresher/arrives hot. Very disappointed :(
