I now avoid this at all costs which is a shame because it is the best of a bad selection of Chinese food in the area. But orders are routinely delayed by anything from 1 hour to being so delayed they tell you your order is in fact cancelled but they do not contact you to let you know. So for example my most recent experience, which will be my last one, was that I phoned to place an order at 6.45 which I was told would be ready to collect at 8pm. I then arrived at 8 to be told that the delay on collection was in excess of two hours and the kitchen closes at 9.30pm so they 'may not' even get it cooked in time. There was someone in the store who had been waiting for their food since 7pm so it is clear that when they took my order they knew the delays were already out of control. Why you would have your customers wait all that time for an order knowing you would fail to deliver it is completely beyond me. This is not my only experience like this here, but it is the most extreme example. They have also been completely unapologetic on the multiple occasions this has occured.

My gradaughter's choice for vegan food. Enjoyed mine apart from the Crispy beef, that wasn't. The large amount of sauce left the crispy beef soggy. The price of Chinese these days, everything has to be spot on. It was clean, prepared within time given.

Food was okay but had to wait 25 minutes after the pick up time given to us and the door wouldn’t close so was absolutely freezing. On top of this they missed two of the items for the pescatarian who then could not eat anything. Overall bad experience

The food is good, or at least what you'd expect of a British-Chinese takeaway. Standard fare on the menu, and all executed perfectly we'll. The salt and pepper chips are particularly good, and we never have any issues with the chicken balls. The reason this is 3 stars and not 4 stars though, is that the timings are absolutely atrocious. Every single time I've collected food it has been at least 10 minutes late. On Christmas eve they had a 'mare, and the wait beyond agreed collection time was around an hour. They'd be wise to stop taking orders when they're stretched, otherwise they'll find that the order dry up naturally.

Disappointed that we were not given tissues due to the boss wanting to save on costs. Only offered forks. No hand wipes. Little extras go a long way - especially since we pay £20 per order and order 3-4 times a week!

This was a nice tiny Chinese takeout in a small town in Bedfordshire. I had telephoned my order through an hour or so in advance and, despite being told by locals that the order would be late, it was ready when I got there. I like that they take cash. They had included a 10p charge for a plastic bag that I did not need because I had taken a bag along. They also didn't give me the two lots of prawn crackers that we had specifically ordered but handed them over without quibble when I went back. The food was really nice though and that is the main thing. I would go again, if Flitwick were not so impractically far from my house.

While China In didn't surpass my expectations, it remains a solid choice for Chinese cuisine in Ampthill, Toddington, and Flitwick. With some improvements, particularly in expanding their tofu and fake meat options, the restaurant has the potential to become even better.

China Inn is a small, ground floor takeaway in the heart of Flitwick. China Inn offers the usual variety of Chinese takeaway menu items however on our one visit the food we came away with was of poor quality and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. The Rice was of average quality, not good not bad, but the real sticking point was the main dishes. We found that most of what we got suffered from poor flavour or too much; the chicken balls being a particular sticking point, with a thick bready batter and a rather tasteless sauce to boot. The price was what you'd expect, though, for that we didn't feel as though we'd walked away with our money's worth.on top of that we were left queuing for a good 40 minutes or so. Overall, China Inn offers plenty of options, but is very much to the individuals taste and lacks that takeaway feel during busy days. Unfortunately, it wasn't our cup of tea. Food: 4/10 Service: 4/10 Accessibility: 8/10 Value: 2/10

Awful customer service!! Very rude on the phone. Huge waiting times of 2 hours then when you get there they tell you you’ll be waiting a while. Wont be using this place again as there are plenty others in the area that take 20 minutes to cook your food. 2 stars because the food is ok otherwise it would be 1 star. They need to seriously work on their customer service and cooking times.

I would say that The China Inn is the best Chinese takeaway in Flitwick. Pricing is average, food quality ranges from excellent to ok. On occasion I've had some chicken dishes that weren't the best, with the chicken sometimes having that defrosted and reheated quality. Prawn, pork, beef dishes have always been top notch

Best Chinese take away ever. We ordered from China Inn a few times now after having moved to Flitwick not so long ago. So happy to have found this Gem! The food is fresh and light compared to the heavy/ greasy Chinese you sometimes get. To order prawn toast and salt and pepper King prawns for one and still be crispy and hot when you enjoy it, is amazing in itself. Keep up the good work guys- your food is delicious!!! Will be ordering from you again Would Highly recommend

Wasn’t the best Chinese in the first place but has dropped off dramatically. Firstly i have to say getting food here is extremely slow I wouldn’t mind if it was the best. It’s certainly not the best value for money. Our last visit the food was bland, strange texture to the chicken and essentially not very enjoyable. I don’t think ill go back in a hurry.

I have been to this takeaway twice now and both times had cold food, which was ok in taste but really not worth the money. I phoned up at exactly 5pm to be told there was a 45min to 1hr wait for me to pick up. Against my better judgment I carried on and ordered. I got to the China inn and waited another 20 mins for them to get the food ready. The poor chap behind the counter looked like he was going to have a breakdown every time the phone rang. When someone walked in to place an order they were told 1hr wait. That’s just bonkers! Anyway, I paid for my takeaway (£40) which was massively overpriced; I live in London most of the week and have never paid this much for what I ordered (probably 30%). In summary the food was massively overpriced, the noodles were swimming in soy sauce, the food was cold and the chicken fried rice was bland. I have cooked better at home myself. I will not be going there again until they can cook faster, improve their food so it is worth the money or reduce the price.

Just had a take away from here. Me and my 3 boys, Crispy chilli beef was soggy and mostly veg, chicken balls where over cooked and gross, salt and pepper chicken had hardly any chicken in it. Chow mein was average, Singapore noodles good. Rice was ok. Was a 45 Min wait spent £30 90% went in the bin. Won't be ordering ever again. We all have stomach ache now. So very disappointed. Mayflower Flitwick is much better and more for your money.

Food here always seems to be good and it's the best Chinese takeaway in the Flitwick/Ampthill area but can sometimes be busy. We ordered on a Saturday night and it took 3 attempts on the phone to get through and the food was ready for collection 15mins later than we were told (although they did apologise for the wait and gave us free prawn crackers). Five out of five for food but wish they had one extra person for peak times.

Our local Chinese in Ampthill has recently closed and when we wanted a Chinese take away for visiting family it was with some anxiety we chose the China Inn because of some poor reviews. Food quality is consistently of a high standard, fresh, tasty and well presented. Only criticism is that when busy they tell you it will take 30 minutes, I suspect as soon as you arrive for collection, they begin to cook your food. Its not unusual to wait another 20 minutes before the food finally arrives. ...very very, annoying but they are almost forgiven once the food is consumed as its always of a very high standard.

China Inn is a small Chinese takeaway on Kings Road in Flitwick (opposite Vauxhall garage) very close to the station. It's very easy to miss it if you blink but its definitely worth paying a visit if you like Chinese takeaway food. There is plenty of space for parking outside on Kings Road or in nearby car parks. We've used it three times in the last couple of months and have found the service and food to be very good. The service can be very quick if quiet or much slower at peak times but has never been excessive. The menu is very significant but our favourites include the Crispy Shredded chicken and the sweet and sour Chicken cantonese style. Portions are good and the food is freshly cooked, represents good value and China Inn gives a friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

First time ordering. Every single dish was awful. Dry, chewy, like eating cardboard. Duck was so pink. Spring rolls tasted like they’d been sat on the side for hours and just reheated. None of it tasted fresh. Will never be ordering here again.

We went here as a party of eight for a birthday meal. The restaurant was very quiet as it was midweek, but this didn't make our experience any worse. The staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Each course arrived quickly and was delicious and, despite us thinking we'd ordered too much, we managed to eat just about everything 😉 The takeaway here is incredibly quick and the food delicious, so if you've not time to eat in, grab a takeaway and you'll not regret it!

Tried this takeaway restaurant for the first time, never again, probably one of the worst Chinese takeaway meals we’ve ever had, the chow mein had hardly any vegetables, thin cheap noodles in a watery sauce, special fried rice was anything but special, no complementary prawn crackers - we won’t be returning.

I often work in Biggleswade so decided to grab a Chinese on my way home. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the owner was very welcoming and courteous. A slight wait for the food as he said it was busy. however when we received the takeaway he gave me a free beer which was much appreciated. The only issue was the spring roll....., it had sausage meat in it. I have never encountered this before...
