Bamboo Tree in Central Bedfordshire

I visited here a few weeks ago the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing. Best Chinese restaurant and takeaway in Bedfordshire

We have ordered from Bamboo Tree a few times now and they never disappoint! Food is always hot and fresh, and they cook everything gluten free at our request. Their service is great and food turns up pretty quick, staff are very polite. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, this place is so much better than that

We are new to the area, and bamboo tree was the nearest for a take away. I didn't pre order but this was no problem. Food cooked fresh and I wasn't kept waiting too long. Chow mein, sweet & sour chicken and rice, all was very tasty and no greasyness on the batter. Will defo be ordering again.

Seeing the rubbish (drunk reviews) I thought I’d send an actual review. Ordered food on this (2022) Easter bank holiday at around 10:10pm..I know right? Talk about give them something they can’t win. Wrong. Food was hot. Food was absolutely bloody awesome and all of this at last doors for a Chinese on a Bank Holiday Sunday. I’m going to say that the food was fresh and absolutely bloody fantastic. Credit where it is due. Great to talk to on the phone and on your doorstep too. 2 x 5 ⭐️ = 10 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can't understand the bad reviews for this place. Favourite take away in the area - superb. They're busy at times (sign of a good restaurant if you ask me), but have only had great service and delicious food.

Had really bad service before and they promised it had been sorted and service would be much better going forward. So I ordered for a delivery at 5.50pm, at 8pm it had not arrived! Called and was told it was round the corner - um... how do you know that when you have not checked my address? Told me they knew I was in Kingsmede and round the corner, I am not in Kingsmede I replied. Sorry I meant Manor Close, again wrong address! Would you like to know where I live before you lie to me? Gave my address and told it would be there in 5 minis! (Yeah right) Turned up 30 minutes later (2.5 hour wait) missing 2 items and the rest of the food was stone cold. Called them (took 5 attempts to get an answer), clearly from what she said they were getting lots of complaints and had mixed orders up. She offered to recook and deliver, how long would that take I asked - it least she was honest, I really do not have a clue was the response. She told me I would get a refund thru my door, nothing as yet so be interesting to see if she is good to her word. Last order was 3.5 hour wait and wrong items, clearly they are desperately disorganised and therefore the service is appalling.

Best Chinese around. We get a takeaway from here and it's always good. Would recommend

The worst Chinese I have ever had. The food was bland ordered a chicken curry had zero taste. Chips were black and soggy. Never again

Phoned up at 5.35pm to order our meal and was given the time of delivery at 6.30pm fantastic was really looking forward it. Anyway waited till 7.00pm and phoned chinese and the lady stated it won't be till 7.30pm really wasn't happy with this as it was pre ordered by nearly two hours??? Explained that I have a condition and would like to eat before a certain time she apologised and said she would find out and ring me back. Anyway lady rang me back and said it will still be another twenty minutes this would take it to 7.40pm (by this time frustrating and hungry and confused as to why it would take this long) we agreed and said we would wait. Five minutes later lady rang from bamboo tree and said chef said to cancel order as they are busy and the chefs refuse to do it as we had complained. Sorry but if you get an order in five minutes after you open i don't expect it to take nearly three hours really disgusted how we where treated. Sincerely hope money is paid back into my account. Will never use this chinese again, as this is the third time this has happened. Very poor mangament you don't expect it to take this long. Not a happy customer.

Have a take away from here reasonably regularly and quality has always been good

Ordered food at 7.38pm on a Friday, first order with bamboo tree for delivery. Ordered placed via justeat and was told delivery by 8.35pm. Still no food at gone 9pm called to see where delivery was and was advised the driver still isn't back yet and our food hasn't been cooked. Terrible service and you definitely will not get out order again.

The food was was very good, although the proportion of meat or seafood to vegetables in each dish was a little stingy. However what really let this restaurant down was the unbelievably long wait for my food. I ordered at 6.30 pm to collect and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. However, once at the restaurant I was made to wait an additional 50 minutes before my order was ready. I honestly don't know what was happening in the kitchen. Although this was a Friday evening it was not that busy. There were only a handful of other customers and there were not that telephone calls whilst I was there. 2 of the customers told the poor lady who was minding the till to cancel their orders. I would have done the same had I realised how long I would have to wait. To top it all, they actually forgot to include part of my order, although they did telephone to check and arranged to have the missing items deliverd, relatively quickly. I'd had a similar experience on New Years eve although not as long a wait but I had put that down to the particular date. Sadly it seems that this was not the case. They either need more staff or more competent staff in the kitchen ad the current staff seem unable to cope with a few orders at once. I wont be ordering from them again until I hear that things have improved. It's a shame because, as I say, the quality of their food is very good 😕

Tonight was my second take away from here and I was not disappointed. This off the beaten track place gave a great take away which was great and real value for money. Would recommend to anyone. Staff very friendly and food top class with leftovers enough for an extra meal for one tomorrow.

2nd chance and won’t be going back. We got a delivery and it really is nothing to rave about. Our delivery has been very late both times we used them. When it finally arrived an hour and 45 minutes after we ordered, the food was cold and not very nice. Much better Chinese restaurants in the area.

Cost £30 well disappointed Disappointed we have used this many times before and always been good The starters were ok, not particularly hot when arrived Mains, chicken chow mien and special fried rice both unimpressed. The noodles were the thin ones not like proper chow mien noodles and there really wasn’t anything special about the fried rice, pretty disappointing No pork balls so we ordered prawn balls instead, ok Not impressed with anything Would I order again?! Food was alright but the crispy chilli beef was soft, took forever to pick up and they missed off the chicken ball and we had to portions of chow mein.

Really not a good meal! Spent over £60 and it was tastless, refried not fresh. I actually couldn't eat it as I'm pregnant and was scared incase I got ill. Unfortunately won't be ordering from there again.

Ordered a takeaway from the Bamboo Tree recently and was very happy with the quality and taste of the food. They have a really good variety of vegetarian options, and my partner said the lemon chicken was very yummy! Staff were very friendly. Will definitely order again!

Shame we have ordered a few times through Just Eat App. We ordered at 17.30 received a note to say 18.50. I called a few times to find out and noone seem to be able to help, this was an hour after time given. We never received our food. Don't know what happened to the driver. I had to drive to the place to get a full cash refund.

Takeaway We ordered a takeaway and it was ready for collection when we arrived. The food I felt was greasy and below average. The house special fried rice was swimming in liquid! The lemon chicken was dry. Not to be repeated a shame

I went for a meal here the other night with my husband and daughter (who recommended it). We were really glad we went. The food is delicious and I am a vegetarian and my husband needs gluten free, so we are both a bit awkward. This is not a problem. Plenty of choice for all of us. The lady is very friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure!

Really negative experience. We've ordered twice before and had no problem. My partner loves it as they're very clear with gluten intolerance, but this time it was entirely different. Apparently my postcode doesn't exist, and none of their food is gluten free, even the same dishes we had only a month or so ago. Very disappointing

Had a fantastic meal at The Bamboo Tree. Friendly staff who asked us if we had any allergies which was helpful foe anyone who does have allergies. The buffet menu was great and the food was cooked from fresh. No complaints at all. Beautiful hot tasty food. Highly reccommended.

We have been to this Chinese before the new management and it wasn’t anything special. Since the change over, the quality of food and the service has got ten times better.

We ate here last night and that's now twice since they closed for a couple weeks last month. They've changed the original manager and a have a different chef but it's still excellent. The additional Christmas specials menu included soft shell crab and salt and pepper prawns - yum! They're also offering a free bottle of wine for a table of 4. The serving staff are really nice too. We'll be back next week for my husband's Christmas works do.

Ordered a simple chicken fried rice Gluten Free, went & collected it, got back home only to find the chicken totally over cooked, rice flavourless and stodgy, phoned up & complained, they told me to bring it back and they would make me a new one. The owner then took the old one back to the kitchen and came out chewing the food saying it was fine she was eating it. (Someone is Denial). Took the new one home and guess what? It was the same as the first one, how difficult can it be. Sure to say that will be our last visit.

I will not be buying from here again, the food came 1 hr late, when the food finally arrived it was not even hot it was warm about to go cold, time I got it on my plate it was cold. Do not order from here. Might just be a bad order but that was my experience.

We had a nice meal here, plenty of food and all lovely. The only thing that let it down was the decor and atmosphere. There was only two tables (including us) there.

I ordered a larger shandy and this was sent back as it was flat, we ordered food and at first it was good untill the main food arrived. A hair was found and then another in the egg fried rice. Really like this restaurant, luckily it is extremely local to us. The food quality is excellent, enjoy the prawns which are always fresh large and juicy, ribs are delicious. Staff are always friendly. Would highly recommend, and if you pay cash you get a 10% discount.

Very good service, the staff are friendly. My daughter and I are vegetarian and the chef came to speak to us about dishes they could do that are not on the menu. We all left very happy and full!
