Been coming here since it opened, you can look that up rather than me embarrass and age myself 😆 Food is great, never ever disappoints. Michael is always hilarious, Meedou is a true asset to Barton-le-Clay.

Normally, the best chinese takeaway I know. great food and the owner is lovely. BUT went there this evening and something was definitely off. Had to wait 20 mins even though I arrived at specified time, and noticed that literally every customer's card was declined the first time they used it, then accepted the second. One woman swore that she'd put her pin in right. My turn, and the same thing happened. (and I also know I entered my pin right the first time) Oh, and in between my first and second payment attempts, the guy re-entered the price - adding on £5. Which I noticed, and he quickly altered back again. Then I get home, to an instant call from my credit card company suspecting fraud. I had been charged twice. I very truly and deeply hope that this was just a problem with the card machine and not a deliberate fraud. but the way he changed the amounts (not something that normally happens) made me worried it was: my credit card company probably wouldn't have picked up on two different amounts as an error. I'd pay cash if you go here, or check your account vv carefully afterwards, just in case. also he seemed - nervous, jumpy - when normally he is welcoming. But then again it was very busy. Still undecided. Just - be alert. (also, the food tasted like it had been sitting round a while - mushy noodles in soup etc).

This Chinese takeaway is my favourite! The quality of their food is consistently excellent, and the portion sizes are always generous. If you're in the mood for some outstanding Chinese cuisine, give this place a try - you won't be disappointed!

Food is always good, the place is always clean,service is prompt, and there is no hanging around. Food is ready whenever they say it will be.

Ordered a meal for my MIL, husband and son. We had prawn toast, pepper chips, sweet n sour, chick chow mein, rice, chicken and mushroom and beef and onion. Lovely large portions and tasty. We have a meal from here on average once a month and are never disappointed. Michael is always polite and friendly. Deffo our go to takeaway😀

Michael is a top guy, always positive and helpful. Can be very busy some times but this speaks for itself and proof of the quality. Good food and always go here for our Chinese (except on they days they aren't open).

Decided to get a takeaway from the local Chinese takeaway (meedou) Waste of money !! Flavourless chow mien !, v cold - rest of the order was “let’s just eat it coz we hungry” …….don’t think I’ll be going there again Also had to go get cash to pay for it as they don’t accept cards !!! Wake up to the modern world !! And get a decent chef involved or you will be going bust !!!!😳😞😞

Food tasted good however, ordered the meal for 1 and a couple of other bits and when I got home to check I was missing the egg fried rice and where there should have been 8 pork balls I only had 5. Definitely check your order when before you leave.

I was really looking forward to trying this out but I was so disappointed. The food was dry, not tasty but somehow it left a strange aftertaste. Friendly staff and no issues there but I won’t be returning.

We were recommended to try this takeaway by a friend - and travelled from nearby Ampthill to collect. Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. Portions were very small, not enough to share - definitely not “family” sized. The sauces were gloopy and strongly flavoured with sugar and salt. The dishes lacked the usual vegetables e.g. the sweet and sour chicken “canton” style consisted of a handful of small chicken pieces, one small chunk of green pepper and about two small chunks of pineapple. The restaurant also forgot one of our dishes, but we were charged for it - which we didn’t realise until returning home. Overall, would avoid and won’t be returning.

Tired this for the first time this weekend. All went well until I got home and found one of the mains missing having been charged for it. Those that we did manage to get were small portions and average at best. Not great value for the portion sizes... better Chinese takeaways around the area.

I've always enjoyed the Meedou good quality meats & good old Michael who speak no English when you try and order something different from the menu 😀

Very average food, but no more than average. Very small portion size with poor meat content. But an average score for a little less than average takeaway. Take away was only ok at best. But nothing that I could say poor.

Best Chinese food l have ever tasted in Bedfordshire. Top norch!!! It's a shame if very far from Bedford.

It's a little bit out of our way to get a takeaway from Meedou so the fact that we go there regularly speaks for itself. The food is always good and the service is super friendly. The menu is pretty comprehensive although perhaps they could squeeze in a few more vegetarian dishes for us veggies (pretty please?!).

Always nice friendly service from Michael although at busy times it can take up to an hour to get through on the phone. The food is always good and worth the wait. I now know to call after 7pm on Friday and Saturday which isn't a problem.

Best Chinese in the area. Very tasty, and not drowning in oil like some take aways. And a good amount of meat in the portions too. Micheal is a very humorous and friendly owner and is very kind and knows everyone around and remembers you. Very good place. And even better now they accept Credit Card contactless!! Highly recommended!

Best chinese I have had, regularly go there, it’s not very local to me but worth the drive. Absolutely love it, I won’t go anywhere else.

The best Chinese takeaway in the area by far. We come from Toddington to get takeaway here. Not as greasy as other places and very tasty. Owner is extremely friendly and inviting and remembers you very well and is happy. One downside is you have to pay cash l, which I understand, but is just inconvenient.

Complacency has set in it was average at best . Over done prawnballs. Noodles warmed up day before fresh . Not impressed

we have tried many foods from here over the past number of years since they opened..never had a bad one yet ..ok so the cooks have their own variations of a meal ,but so does everybody ..if you are particular ,do ask first. Nice and friendly people ,treat them nice ,you get treated nice too..

Always our go to in the village of barton-le-clay. Try out meedou! Recommend their sticky ribs and chicken satay dishes!

We went for the first time (Sunday 5th Feb. 2017) as we have just moved to the area. It was very clean inside and the staff were friendly, they even gave my son a lollipop as a treat. The food didn't take long to cook. When we got home to eat, it was delicious and nothing was left! Congratulations, Meedou. Keep up the good work!

I really don't know why I have not thought to write a review for the Meedou long before now. Having frequented the Luton Meedou for many years we were delighted when several years ago they opened their second branch in Barton Le Clay a short distance from our home. For over thirty years now we have been enjoying a consistently high standard of delicious Chinese/Cantonese food. This is Take away food of a standard that many sit in restaurants would be proud of. An outstanding meal again last night and recently on Valentines night hence this long overdue review. Thank you Michael as always for great food and first class service on our doorstep. Keep it up! See you again soon.

El orden anterior de el calamar dulce y agria era genial, esta vez era un sitio asqueroso. Todo lo demás estaba bien, pero puedo conseguir chino bien para llevar más cerca de casa.Probablemente nuestra última visita. Lástima.

Regular customer at the Meedou and have never been disappointed with the service or the food quality, in fact the latter has always been superb. The kitchen has a 5 star rating for hygiene and there food matches this rating. Have used many other Chinese takeaways but none quite match this one.

The service is very good, quick and friendly, pity you cant say the same for the food. Sweet and sour sauce with no solids, just a sticky orange liquid, chow mein, just noodles in a watery sauce - avoid the place

Very friendly customer service. Food was and tasty, probably one of the best Chinese take-aways I have had, I ate it all! Salt/Pepper squid, which tasted fresh, and mixed satay, fried rice was lovely.

We visit here about once a month for takeout food. Never been disappointed. Always gets the order correct no matter how small or large. Everyone knows Michael that greets you when you arrive and takes your order. Good to talk too about Football but I do get jealous when he gets tickets to Liverpool when I can't. Peanut Satay Starter is infamous in this area.....Best I've ever tasted

Popped in last night on the way home for a takeaway. The place is spotless, really nice service and it was £20 for 4 dishes so, very reasonable. The main thing that struck me, was how fresh everything tasted.

Had the chicken curry from here a few times and the meat comes in cube shapes and is not really meaty at all. When you bite into it - its like biting into jelly, it just falls apart in your mouth likes its been sat in a steamer keeping hot for hours.Chips are ok ishI prefer to drive a little further. I.E Sundon Park where there's a really nice chinese.

It is a very busy Chinese take away as it is the only one in the town but I would always prefer to drive elsewhere as I do not rate it anything more than average and you have to wait ages for your take away and they do not deliver.

Go here on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal - would recommend to anyone! Food cooked fresh to order.
