Had dinner here last Saturday with some mates - one of whom recommended this place.I had never been here before (usually went to a different Chinese place) and was blown away! The lemon chicken and szechuan prawns in particular were BY FAR the best I've ever had. Service was also fantastic, and you can BYO alcohol at no cost!! Can't wait to go back.

First delivery , on time, good size portions, value for money.Tasty not too salty. Rice a bit stodgy, but tasty. Will order again

I got a take away and everything was dripping in oil, the prawns were tough, the spring rolls were soggy, the wontons werent even wontons just crispy burnt pastry with no filling. All meats had soggy pastry and was just not very nice to eat at all. Wouldnt get from there again 😡 for what they charged and what i received is unacceptable. Very disappointing, save your money and get a mac donalds

We have eaten Chinese food from Meis Kitchen for many years on a regular basis. Tonight for the first time I was very disappointed. We ordered all our usual favourites and all of them were different. They tasted different and contained a different mix of ingredients. The portion size was also much reduced. Do you have a new chef? Is this temporary? If not we will have to find somewhere else for our Chinese fix.

Very disappointing! A very poor quality quarter duck. Insufficient meat compared to local competition. Insufficient for 3 of the 6 pancakes. Sliced cucumber & spring onion actually slimy in appearance and feel, certainly a long way from fresh. Disgraceful! Purchased a curry king prawn & egg fried rice. No complaints about that. Very large portion. However, we will not be going back.

Beef curry chips and spring roll all nice. I was in hi viz clothes about to do night shift and the lady made sure she gave me some prawn crackers for free for the night ahead 🥢🥢🥢

The food here used to be great, but unfortunately it seems to have gone downhill. I tried it again tonight and asked for extra onions, garlic and red chillis in my prawn and rib dish and the extra chillis Don’t seem to have been cooked at all. You can clearly see the difference between the chillis that are cooked on the left hand side compared to those that are raw on the right. When I just called the restaurant they just argued with me and said they have been cooked - I offered for the manager to come and collect himself to see them and he refused - and he didn’t want to credit me for the meals because he had credited me before for a bad meal (of which I have never even used credit). He eventually offered to credit one of the 2 mains but that is just not good enough. I must have used this restaurant 40-50 times. Such short sighted business behaviour!

This place used to be great but has gone totally downhill. Terrible customer service and very disappointing food now unfortunately. Scary to read some of the other reviews also……

First time ordering from them and I will NEVER order again!! I ordered a chicken curry and was given a mixed meat curry which had beef in it and I do NOT eat beef. I called to tell them that it’s out of order they’ve given me a wrong dish and I’ve eaten something I don’t eat and all I got was a “sorry we all make mistakes”. I am so angry that they didn’t even sound bothered at all that they’ve ruined my dinner. I will not be ordering from them again!! Also they took nearly 2 hours to deliver our food so not only did I eat my dinner late but was ruined with a dish I didn’t order.

I ordered Singapore fried rice, curry sauce and hot and sour soup. Service was great, food was excellent. Thank you.

I'll never order from meis kitchen again!!! We sat down to enjoy a nice Chinese half way through my son found a maggot wriggling about in his rice! Yes the manager refunded us the money back but honestly a live maggot!!! The manager said it must of came from the veg .. the food had been cooked so surely a cooked maggot is a dead maggot!!! This was very much alive !! We always enjoyed a Chinese after this it will be a while before we have another and I'll never order from meis kitchen again.

Very disappointed tonight 😞 Food was late and when it finally arrived, the prawn toast, prawn balls and crispy chilli beef were anything but crispy. Food was cold and chewy ☹

The food is always hot and very tasty, this is now our regular Chinese takeaway.

Opened my egg fried rice to find melted plastic mixed in with the rice. Tried to call but no answer, sent a message on their website and didn't get any response. They obviously don't care. If you want to eat contaminated Chinese food, then this is definitely the place to order. I prefer my food to be edible though.

Food hot, not what my taste buds were expecting

Had a takeaway last evening was told it would be an hour which suited us but it arrived in 10 minutes. I ordered CRISPY shredded beef but it was so chewy and tough I couldn’t eat it. The lemon chicken was even worse, the pieces were so large that they were in a congeled lump. We’ve ordered from here many times but recently the food has been disappointing Won’t be using them again Lyn from Biggleswade

I have been here a few times the food is nice but i was put off goin there again because wen i was waiting for my order i over heard one of the staff bein really horrible you could say bullying a young member of staff and it put me off goin back there but the food was nice but they loose points for bein un professional bad staff treatment

I think they are the best in Biggleswade. They take card payment for a start! Get the Singapore chow mein, it’s the best around. Friendly as well. Go here. 😊

Im sorry i used to like this place and i dont usually leave bad reviews but was so cold, bland and oily i couldnt eat any of it. Wasted £22 and still hungry. Gross. Really p*ssed off tbh.

Beef noodles - I am a fan of beef - that did not taste like beef … tasteless …I give 2 out of 10 Pork dumplings - disgusting…. Do not recommend at all 😡☹️

I used to be a regular here, but of the last 2 times I ordered, the first the food was very watery and the second (last night) has given me food poisoning/diarrhea today. I won't be going back.

Update : Decided to give Mei's another try (Saturday 15th) - Truly wished we hadn't bothered ! Soggy uncooked batter, tough inedible chicken and again chemical tasting sauces. So definitely NEVER again. Menu in bin, along with the bagful of disgusting food . Total waste of money... Will stick with Thai Rice/ Pera Kitchen in future as they definitely do amazing takeaways and never ever disappoint. FIRST REVIEW - Uncooked chicken and raw sweet and sour prawns and chemically tasting sauces. Tried a few times, as always try to give local businesses a chance. Sadly always disappointed and won't be trying again. Very Poor !

Moved to Biggleswade in January and were keen to find a good Chinese takeaway. Mei's was undoubtedly the popular recommendation to us. I've waited to write a review as the first two times, we weren't overly impressed with the food, but also recognised that some nights are busier than others and some times it's just one of those nights. We've now eaten from there four times and are still not enamoured with the food. It's hot and fresh, but generally lacks in taste and depth for us. It's not terrible, but at the same time, not that great where you think you really enjoyed it. The customer service skills however need a significant improvement (or perhaps more staff just need to be hired if it's constantly that busy). Every occasion we've ordered, it's been well over an hour to be delivered, and on the occasions that we've called to find out where our order is (always at least an hour and 15 minutes after being placed), we were bluntly told it's out for delivery. When pushed for a rough time, the response on both times was 'it's there when it gets to you, I can't tell you as it's not here'. Hardly screams professionalism and courtesy - if the food was incredible, we'd perhaps swallow the customer service, however it's not and therefore does not justify accepting rude customer service.

I ordered food online, I had a confirmation email saying the order was confirmed and my food would be delivered. An hour later I called too ask how long it was going too be only too be told that they had cancelled my order and refunded me because they were too busy!! Absolutely disgusting

Just had a Friday takeaway and have to say it was pretty poor. Dried up chips, "special omelette", not sure what was special? Only found 2 tiny prawns for nearly £6?? Chicken chow mein just greasy noodles, a few beansprouts and a scattering of chicken. All in all very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend sadly 😔 really gone off the boil.

After being a loyal customer of Oriental Express I’m now finding that I visit Mei’s most often for a Chinese takeaway. The food is always excellent and tastes fresh. Service is always friendly and fast unless they’re really busy. Takes credit card payments. Can order online or by phone. Delivery or collection. Highly recommended. This was our first takeaway with Mei"s Kitchen and I will def be ordering again. Full of flavour, lots of sauce and meat and the delivery was prompt and the guy very polite and nice- reasonable priced too!!! Thankyou for a lovely meal !!!

Had a great meal tonight . really enjoyed the set meal for 3 . plenty of food and lovely and warm. In the last the food has been a lite hit and miss especially the curry. But tonight 5 stars

Ordered a takeaway at 18.55 pm , it eventually arrived after I phoned them at 21.22pm so don’t order if you are hungry. Salt and Pepper chicken was tough and cold and the beef was so tough we couldn’t eat it Special fried rice was bland First time we have tried this Chinese and we won’t be returning

Mei's Kitchen is a nice local Chinese takeaway/delivery. Majority of the time the food has been great and seemed to be even better lately, not sure if anything has changed there, but the chicken curry tastes better now than it did before. Sometimes the delivery times can be very hit and miss with the longest wait being 2 hours, however it did state on ordering at the time that times would be long. The online ordering I find to be easy and efficient and offering the ability to pay by card which is my preferred method of payment.

Mei’s Kitchen does the best Chinese anywhere around here. That’s not to say others aren’t nice. But Mei’s is simply superior, the taste is incredible! We’ve tried a variety of dishes on offer and all have been winners. Personal favourite is the shredded crispy chicken it’s amazing. I do have one criticism of Mei’s Kitchen, it tastes to damn good and we’ve had 3 of them in less than 2 weeks. We very rarely order takeaway so that’s a problem ;) We’ve found our Chinese takeaway, give it a try you won’t regret it.

The salt and pepper chicken was one of the worst I’ve ever tasted. Very pale in colour and dry. The chow mein somewhat soggy and bland. Explains why I got my order in 5 mins. I suffered food poisoning the next day. Serves me right for not going to my regular (Jumbos) because they were closed.

I've had food from Mei's kitchen quite a few times now and can say that I always find the food really tasty. IMO compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area Mei's kitchen is the least greasy and doesn't upset my stomach like some of the others have done. The only complaint we'd have is that on some occasions they seem to put a lot more onion in the chow mein and much less meat. Especially in the Duck. Other than that delicious and great service!

This is the second time I have ordered from Mei's kitchen and on both occasions I waited over 2 hours for my order and had to physically go to the shop to chase my delivery! I attempted 50 times to call with still no answer. I understand that they are busy, but don't give me a estimated time and ignore my calls! Very disappointed and will not be a returning customer

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to share with you, my husband and I devoured our entire order most of which was eaten at the kitchen counter trying our best to put it on the plate. I think the expression after every bite was mmmm... Easily the best Chinese we've had in a while. We eat Chinese food often, usually when we travel our chosen cuisine is Chinese including eating in China. So to say this is good, take our word for it and order yourself some yummies!

Disappointed that there is now a minimum order of £18 to be able to pay by card over the phone! I don't understand how that can be justified...such a shame that in 2019 they are still reliant on cash being the main form of pay.

The food was pretty good and above average for a Chinese take-away. However I did think that there were too many pieces of vegetables compared to the amount of chicken in both of our chicken dishes.

Food OK price reasonable. But it is just a "Takeaway" . It is not a restaurant. I can't see the point of trying to fill up the comments section when it is just a takeaway

Went on Tuesday night, ordered 1/4 duck and special fried rice, order was ready in less that 1.5 minutes yes 90 seconds. Got home and ate the dishes which seemed reheated, within 4 hours I was being sick and have been vomiting and serious stomach cramps for two days, it’s now Friday and first day I have been able to start to eat again. I believe the products we ordered must have been Pre cooked as you could not cook fresh in that time frame.

Simply delicious Chinese takeaway. Yum yum. The only downside is eating far too much. Crispy beef is a winner.

Phoned for a delivery at home. Had a huge order as we had friends over. As we got to the end of a rather lengthy order, they frustratingly told us they only accept cash as they are too busy to take card payments. Sorry Mei, this is is 2018, I don't really deal in cash any more and I (as your customer) am also too busy to drive to an ATM for your convenience. Won't ever go back.

A friend recommended this so I gave it a try and it was really disappointing. It was a bit more expensive than others in the area so I was expecting good things. It was piping hot... But that's the only good thing it had going for it. The food was rewlly greasy and tasted like the oil has never been changed. Most of it seemed like it had been reheated, the chicken satay was as tough as boots and all ended up in the bin. That will teach me for not reading reviews first before ordering!

Went to Mei's kitchen for a Chinese take away as my usual take away was closed. Ordered food the service was very quick. It was almost like precooked reheated bland food overcooked vegetables. Myself and my friend were very disappointed as it was unappetising poor quality poorly presented.

Mei's kitchen was recommended so thought I'd give it a go instead of my usual Chinese take away. We went in an ordered the food...a bit more expensive than what we usually pay so were expecting great things. We were sadly underwhelmed. Food was not only greasy but it tasted like the oil could have done with being changed a few weeks ago. Rest of food was okay, nothing special, chicken satay was nice, but no better than anywhere else. We will stick to our usual one in future.

Having been to a variety of Chinese restaurants over the years I had never been able to find one that managed to get crispy aromatic duck right, until I went here. Duck was cooked to perfection, still plenty of meat and it wasn't horribly crispy. My partner never really liked Chinese but this has made her a convert. The crispy chicken balls are amazing. All the food is hot, whether you order for delivery or collection. And as customary you get a free bag of prawn crackers with your order. Have loved the service and how friendly the staff are. You can see the food being cooked so no funny business either. I won't go anywhere else in biggleswade for Chinese. Love the place

Only tried this place out because of the reviews but I’m afraid to say everything I ordered was tasteless, I am very disappointed considering the fact I spent quite a bit of money on chow mien that tasted like water and the ribs did not even taste like ribs. If you eat Chinese in London you’ll see the big difference, you’ll also get it cheaper. They honestly need to get a better Chinese restaurant in Biggleswade!!!!
