Millennium Chinese Takeaway and Fish and Chips in Central Bedfordshire

Great Chinese as always - have been ordering from here since we moved house in Oct 2023 and have never been disappointed. Food is always tasty, piping hot and appears at our door quickly!

Use millennium when I work late as they deliver and it's close so food is still warm when it arrives. Today was honestly one of the worse takeaways I've had in my life and I'm fat so you can tell I've had a lot of take aways. I dont know if you've changed chef's or something but only 1 of my 4 dishes was actually worth eating, the other ones were waaaay over cooked so went in the bin, disappointed, as somehow even managed to make salt and pepper chips badly. Very unlikely I'll be using Millennium again. Sort it out guys!

The Spring Rolls were absolutely gross we all ..felt like we were eating floor sweepings….They used to be lovely? All the other food was so greasy & didn’t taste right…..Not a very good experience & embarrassing to feed to my clients

peng munch, family thoroughly enjoyed the shredded beef and buttered bread rolls. My mate Tyreke Stonier was a big fan of the buttered bread roll and the feller on the phone was a very well mannered young man

Probably the worst service & Chinese I’ve ever had the misfortune to use, after spending £62 on a takeaway it took 2 hours to arrive & was overcooked & cold when it did ,maybe they were having a bad night but I’ll never know because we’d never use them or recommend them 😕

Ice been going to this Chinese for many many years and it's been ok but tonight after spending 60 pound on delivery and not getting a complimentary bottle of drink I think is a little tight but to then be told to stop whinging because I asked them to double check the order as they have forgot to put it is about disgraceful. So if your gonna order here there is the Hong Kong house over the road which is better but does take a little longer to be delivered . To who ever is taking the order learn some fooking manners 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

We often go to the Millennium takeaway in Arlesey for a chinese, but have recently been trying the large cod and salt and pepper chips. To be fair, the chinese food is about the best you will get but the cod and chips are certainly the best we have had. The batter is crisp, golden and thin, not the usual doughy tasting chunky stuff you can find in a lot of take aways. The fish inside the batter is amazing, nice big chunks and juicy to boot. The salt and pepper chips are a new thing for me, with added chilli peppers and spring onions plus a few other spices. Together with a large cod, you have the perfect dinner. Service is well organised and fast. Prices are below average which is a nice bonus. Overall then, 10 out of 10 for food, service and friendly staff.

Tried Millennium for the first time last night and the fish & chips was fab. Big portion, hot, crispy and not at all greasy. Will definitely have again!

We use Millennium Chinese every couple of weeks, and started to back on er... the Millennium! We love the range of dishes, and the bonus of fish and chips delivery too! A member of my family would enjoy the latter even more if it was available to order for delivery earlier on a Saturday, but thats my only quibble - otherwise the food is ALWAYS delish and a real treat.

The guy that normally answers the phone is very lovely and polite. The menu on the website has an allergen table which makes ordering so easy. Always have lovely food

Ordered by phone. Very quickly answered by a very helpful staff member. Ordering was easy as was by paying by card. Was advised delivery would be 1h -1h15m which was ok. Order duly arrived almost exactly 1h after ordering. Was delivered by a very friendly driver and was piping hot (steam emanating from the pots when we opened them). The food was absolutely delicious and couldn’t fault it. Peking chicken was particularly good. Highly recommended and would happily order from them again.

The spring rolls from this establishment are superior to any other Chinese takeaways in the region, big ups the donny on the phone what a beast he is (roblox train simulator). 10/10 services, big up the chefs they could deffo clobber Gordon Ramsey in a street fight. big up my man Zhewen, a true Jake Pauler

We used to use the Millennium weekly until we moved away in 2012. Late last year we moved back and we've ordered a takeaway Chinese most Sunday evenings since, and we've had fish and chips once. 1. Speed. Granted we've collected our order each time, but the order has always been ready when promised. Collection time from placing the order by telephone was regularly 10 minutes, but once was 30 minutes. When we had fish and chips it was a "walk in" order rather than a telephone order and it took as long as you'd expect for freshly cooked fish. I can't comment on their delivery service, but their "order by telephone and collect yourself" service is faultless. 2. Food temperature. We have never once picked up anything other than hot food. After the 7 minute drive back round to Fairfield it was still hot. 3. Food quality. The fish and chips were a little greasier than we'd like, and there were a couple of Chinese dishes that weren't to our taste (so we didn't repeat them), but other than that the food quality has been very good. As the title of my review says, I simply do not understand the negative reviews. Maybe those complaining about the delivery service should try collecting the food to see if that makes a difference? There certainly isn't a better Chinese that delivers nearby.

Dreadful service AGAIN. This is the FINAL time we will use this awful place. If its not the rude battleaxe answering the phone, its a kid who can’t get the order right!! A summary of our recent orders: 1st -was cold but we were hungry & we just ate up & shut up. 2nd -were sent a chicken dish when we ordered prawn. No apology, were told we could wait 30mins for the right dish….er, and eat separately to the rest of the family. Oh, by the way, we were also told we could pay for that privilege! 3rd -ordered food inc a kids meal. Food arrived without the kids meal. Half hour after delivery 1 the kids meal turned up. My 3yr daughter was distraught & STARVING. Again, no apology, no money off a future order, no refund.Nothing! 4th - i have NO idea why we gave them another chance and tonight we waited 1hr 25min for cold Food. We chased up. No apology, no partial refund, no offer of goodwill for a future order. Im not sure who runs this awful place but i really hope people read the negative reviews and pay attention. You will not get any different. They need to give it up now & shut up shop as its run so badly. These cretins also overcharge for delivery within a small village, where your food is dispatched with 6 other orders so WILL be cold!! I can’t give this hole anymore of my time (or money!!) in writing this review. But ultimately you order a takeaway to make your life easy. This place gives you more stress than cooking your own meal, and certainly more disappointment. Final straw for us. Avoid for your own sanity.

I've not bought anything from here for quite a few months and tonight I wished I had stayed away. I ordered my food at 17.40 and it never arrived until 19,00 our fish and chips arrived cold and needed to be warmed up in the microwave it was £15 wasted. Never again will I be ordering from here.

Having sampled many different Chinese establishments across the UK, this is really bad. Pink chicken balls and some dicky tummies all round. If you need a Chinese, don't go to Arlesey, they've gone down hill. Otherwise, business opportunity to be had!

Came out to Arnesly to collect an eBay purchase, was aiming for McDs, at the A1 services. Drove past here, saw they were also a chippy an decided to stop. A short wait as chips were cooked to order as not too busy. Never a problem. Well worth the wait. Really nice chips. Very friendly, VERY clean and all covid precautions in place. Approx 15 mins from A1, well worth a quick detour.

I would firstly like to thank you for ruining date night. My husband had been away working and returned tonight. Thinking we would have a date night in we ordered from Millennium. I was told 30-45 mins and we waited over an hour, not too bad I guess but when told a certain time it would be nice to stick to it. Now the food. Omg what a bloody disaster. £35.00 in food and 95% of it ended up in the bin. Only thing that was eaten was the prawn crackers, what can go wrong with fried discs!! Absolutely no point calling to complain as you’ll speak to a child and they won’t do anything to help you. 100% will NEVER go back. Disgusting food and only gave it a 1 as 0 wasn’t available.

Ordered over the phone and told 15 mins. Ended waiting in the takeaway for 40mins and watched everyone who ordered after me get theirs first. When o did get it the food was awful and left most of it. The crispy duck was greasy and not crispy. I had the mixed starter and the container was full of grease and oil. Moat of the next day had a funny stomach. Avoid.

Ordered a takeaway at 7 pm..still waiting at 9pm..tried calling but they hang up...Absolutely terrible service...definitely won’t be ordering from you again

I've read a few reviews on here talking about slow service, incorrect orders or rude staff from this takeway. I have to say I've never had a bad experience yet with this place in 6 years! Yes the delivery times can be a bit slow but that's usually when they're really busy and have a lot of orders to get out. But the food has always been spot on. I tried a couple of other Chinese takeaways in the area but was disappointed with the quality before a friend recommended the Millenium to me.The only negative comment I could put is echoing what 840leaf said about no online ordering facility but you can't have everything.Maybe I've just been lucky with the Millenium but the negative comments on here don't reflect the experience I've had with them. Great food, quick delivery but not always open when they say they are. The food is tasty and not greasy, definitely the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Would love to be able to order online though

Waited for 1hr35 minutes for our food. Two very hungry children. Very disappointing. No compensation offered, either.

I’ve used the take away service several times and always been happy. However Last night I ordered some vegetable spring rolls (I’m vegetarian,) and unfortunately when I bit into them they were full of meat. We opened them up to have a look to confirm this. They were 100% meat spring rolls. We called to complain and were told they were not meat spring rolls they were vegetables and basically called liars. We were not offered a refund or replacement or an apology. Disgusting service. Thank goodness I didn’t have allergies!

The worst customer service I’ve ever had, a young boy taking orders incorrectly and just rude! The quality of the food could only be described as glupe. After years of supporting this Chinese. I wouldn’t want to return!

Superb cooked food. Never had a reason to complain. Used for years. Always phone order through night before as usually food for 10 people.

I ordered the meal for one and was really disappointed with what I got! The portion size was great but the food lacked flavour and the chicken was almost waxy! The pork balls were fatty and the sauce was too sweet!

We used Millennium for over 10 years, but our last take away was disgusting!!! We emailed them to get no reply!! change of chef I guess??? Seen as they couldn't be bothered to reply to our email we will not be using them again!!!! U

We have used Millennium for a number of years now and always found the food to be of excellent quality and hot on delivery.

We order from Millennium regularly. The service is consistently good and the food also. This is an excellent, not trying to be something else, Chinese takeaway. We recommend the Singapore noodles and crispy aromatic duck pancakes.

Yesterday evening we decided to order a delivery, we didn’t want too much, so ordered the mixed starter (satay, ribs and prawn toast) this was all nice

I don't get Chinese much because I'm a curry man but my other half likes a Chinese so when we do get one we've always gone here nice people nice food don't need much else oh chips are banging

Very disappointed...was 'special fried rice' ordered in from a supermarket and simply heated?? Sweet and sour sauce cold ...one dish over cooked and another with wrong accompanying sauce...oh but the prawn crackers were spot on.....

Regularly order Chinese from here if we want a delivery, the food is good and reasonably priced and service is fine.

Place a order at 7pm on Sunday 8th April for delivery, was told a hour and quarter delivery but a hour and half later we phoned them up and was told it is on it way we only live 5mins drive away. Another 15mins later still waiting. Phoned up again to be told food had not left the shop. If you have not got the delivery staff don't take orders for delivery! Very disappointed canceled order as we did not want our food after 9pm

I’m not normally a fan of Chinese, but this is a great takeaway...food always really fresh, hot and tasty...have used it several times

Had a home delivery - food arrived late, it was greasy and burnt and had a weird taste to it. The Thai green curry was bland and tasteless. Woke up the next day with a stomach ache and feeling queasy. I will take the advice of another reviewer (on another site) and throw away the menu, just in case I forget and get another takeaway from them.
