Arrived at 11.55 am knowing lunch would start at 12.00, noon. The waitresses (very attentive) seated us by the servery and settled us with our drinks. We were advised they would bring the menus over when the last of the breakfast were served. All good at this point. Unfortunately at 12 .03 the cook/chef in the kitchen at the servery was heard asking the waitress if anyone was in for lunch? She said yes and his tone and response were a shock to hear. It was too much trouble for him to cope with at the time. The waitress then came over with the menu which we declined and advised we were leaving. Both waitresses apologised but it was not down to them, they were very professional and could not fault them. Such a shame, we have been going there for breakfasts and lunches, even took friends but this has definitely soiled our opinion of this establishment. Would not recommend as too much for the cook/chef to contend with.

Lew's provided catering for our daughter's first birthday in the Llandaff North and Gabalfa hub recently. The food and service provided was excellent and we are very grateful to the team and would highly recommend.

Very nice welcome and hosting. Tasty breakfast (good size) plus nice mug of tea all at good value for money. Would visit again.

Have often passed in the car and thought it looked clean. Out of this world, home made tartare sauce is lovely as was the curry sauce, Quality of the fish and chips second to none. The best I’ve had in Cardiff and very reasonably priced. The staff made me welcome and actually engaged in conversation. I had a dreadful day, till I stopped here, You now have a new regular customer. Thank you.

The Hot Pantry is the perfect place for fresh comfort food. Their Dragon Pies and Custard slices are to die for! Good prices compared to a lot of bakeries too.

Super restaurant style takeaway fish & chips. Perfectly cooked loin of cod was coated in a very light batter and tasted delicious. The triple cooked chips were a treat particularly dipped in the homemade tartare sauce.

I've been dragging my friend on a burger tour of Cardiff for a few months now. We've gone to some of the most recommended spots in town. I can honestly say, without exaggeration or hyperbole, that this was not only the best burger I've ever eaten, but one of the best meals I've had in my life - and that includes my grandmother's cooking. I knew the reviews were good. I knew that the restaurant owners owned the butcher's and the farm too, so I was prepared to enjoy myself. I was genuinely unprepared for just how good the food tasted. I could use phrases like "melt-in-the-mouth", "bursting with flavour", or "perfectly balanced", but I wouldn't be doing it justice. You have to experience it for yourself. The only burger I've had that came close was a lamb burger served on the farm where the animal had been slaughtered that morning. The freshness and quality of the ingredients here, from the homemade buns to the inspired toppings to the tender, juicy meat itself, are immediately apparent. I was both completely satisfied and could not get enough. I'm going to be dragging my friends and family here every chance I get - this place must stay open, it is a genuine Cardiff institution and Welsh national treasure. Again, I'm not exaggerating. P.S. I made a TripAdvisor account so I could post this

Nice little art gallery in the Lochaber St. Reminds me of the Albany gallery in Albany Road.
