We have to buy in bulk, and transport talerddig sausage rools over 300 miles for our daughter, that tells you everything you need to know. Lovely bread too

Really enjoyed our lunch at Chartists 1770. I had the wild mushrooms on sourdough bread with a side order of homemade chips. My son and his friend had a big plate of ham and eggs that they polished off in double quick time. My husband had fish and chips which had a really nice crispy batter. For desert the boys had homemade ice cream that came in a range of flavours and my husband and I had Gabi's lemon and pear desert that was divine - definitely award-winning. Highly recommend.

I have never experienced such rude staff in hospitality. Obviously can’t cope with more than ten people in the pub. Asked at 7.15 if still serving food response was “no” - no apologies or we are fully booked. Decided to stay for a drink and then told we couldn’t sit where we were and had to move. Then 5 minutes later a menu appeared asking if we wanted food? Apparently it had calmed down to 8 people in the bar so they could cope. Food was basic and over priced along with the beer. Would I come back? Absolutely not with these current owners, unless they suddenly learn how to cook, how to serve, how to price correctly in line with a small town that is no where near London and learn some manners.
